My oldest to...Not surprising in the least, though.

My oldest told me the other day he's no longer allowed to speak in class during discussions about government and politics because the teachers don't like what he has to say and there's no such thing as free speech in school.

I beg to differ:
1. He's 18 and a registered voter.
2. The 1st Amendment does NOT say freedom of speech "except for students."
2. Are they telling everyone else to STFU, bobble-heading agreement with their state indoctrination? NO? Well, that's discrimination, ain't it?

The boy only had 1 year of home schooling, but something stuck, or maybe it was the 4 a.m. conversations in my office about gov't and politics. Then there is my step-daughter, who comes home spouting some Green Earth bullshit that makes no sense half the time, so WTF are they telling this kid that she faithfully regurgitates when she gets home at the end of the day?

Every parent wants their kid to get a solid education but more and more, I see what my kids get is NO SUCH THING. The rate things are going, I know it probably doesn't matter a whit since the shit is gonna hit the fan and splatter far and wide, very soon. My son will be a leader in the next "phase" of American history; my step-daughter, not so much.

On my own Paul-Revere type ride, I shout, "The Revolution is coming, The Revolution is coming!"

http://wtpunitedstates.blogspot.com/2009/03/my-thoughts_2042.html

Natch, some more of my genius, my predictions about where we're headed - some of which we're already seeing with Democrats "dropping like flies" (being shunned by the electorate, choosing not to run for reelection, admittedly, one of my FAVORITE predictions!!).Angie Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02342713829455027103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872610766194613385.post-67429062989857416672010-01-31T16:02:53.242-05:002010-01-31T16:02:53.242-05:00It's just another example of teaching children...It's just another example of teaching children what to think instead of how to think. I see it all the time and really bothers me. We are doing the children of this country a huge disservice by not teaching them how to get the facts, analyze them and draw their own conclusion.Spinsterpovhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07301768335459719164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872610766194613385.post-38698673285339255982010-01-31T15:20:49.266-05:002010-01-31T15:20:49.266-05:00Gag, more G.I.V.E. and S.E.R.V.E.
