Obama’s speech in Copenhagen

From Politico
COPENHAGEN — A visibly angry Barack Obamathrew down the gauntlet at China and other developing nations Friday, declaring that the time has come "not to talk but to act" on climate change.
Emerging from a multinational meeting boycotted by Chinese Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Obama warned delegates that U.S. offers of funding for poor nations would remain on the table “if and only if” developing nations, including China, agreed to international monitoring of their greenhouse gas emissions.
"I have to be honest, as the world watches us... I think our ability to take collective action is doubt and it hangs in the balance,” Obama told the COP-15plenary session as hope for anything more than a vague political in agreement faded.
“The time for talk is over, this is the bottom line: We can embrace this accord, take a substantial step forward. We can do that and everyone who is in this room will be part of an historic endeavor or we can choose delay,” he said. MORE
This is comical. Would someone please tell Obama that we are China’s bitches now?  Lets put aside the fact that Obama is willing to waste billions we don’t have on junk science. Trying to force China into an agreement by pledging money we have to borrow from them in the first place, has got to be the worst bluff in the history of man.  The Chinese government is probably still laughing their asses off over that one.

If this is all Obama has, he had better prepare himself for another Rio episode. The Chinese are firmly in control at Copenhagen and trying to ply them with their own money was a fool’s errand.

Hillary pledges untold billions to fight climate change at Copenhagen

From The New York Daily News:

Just as the Copenhagen climate summit appeared to be on the verge of unraveling, the United StatesThursday announced its support of an annual $100 billion climate protection fund, the Associated Pressreports.
“The US is prepared to work with other countries toward a goal of jointly mobilizing $100 billion a year by 2020 to address the climate change needs of developing countries,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.
[SNIP]
While she would not disclose how much the U.S. would be contribution to the climate fund, Clinton said there would be a fair amount contributed to the pot that would be made available in 2020. The finances will reportedly be raised partially by taxing aviation and shipping, as proposed by the European Union

This is the kind of irresponsible actions that boils my blood. Here it is, the United States is borrowing trillions from China to pay for all kinds of crazy foolishness and now we have damn fools like Obama and Clinton pledging untold billions to other countries based on "snake oil science".  If Democrats are puzzled as to why the public is souring on their brand, they need look no further than these actions.

Did it ever occur to Obama and the Democrats to pause on climate change at least to make 1,000% sure the climate change scientist are not FOS? Did it ever occur to the Democrats that these untold billions they are pledging must be paid with interest by future generations that are too young to vote for or against their actions?

As I sit here like most Americans tightening my belt and curtailing my holiday spending, I sincerely hope that the Democrats damage their brand beyond repair, for they have really and truly earned that fate.

Copehagen: Cheers Hugo Chavez;s socialism and a blizzard to boot

From the Herald Sun:
President Chavez brought the house down.

When he said the process in Copenhagen was “not democratic, it is not inclusive, but isn’t that the reality of our world, the world is really and imperial dictatorship…down with imperial dictatorships” he got a rousing round of applause.
When he said there was a “silent and terrible ghost in the room” and that ghost was called capitalism, the applause was deafening.
But then he wound up to his grand conclusion – 20 minutes after his 5 minute speaking time was supposed to have ended and after quoting everyone from Karl Marx to Jesus Christ - “our revolution seeks to help all people…socialism, the other ghost that is probably wandering around this room, that’s the way to save the planet, capitalism is the road to hell....let’s fight against capitalism and make it obey us.” He won a standing ovation.
As we always suspected, all this climate change nonsense has very little to do with saving the planet and everything to do with gaining control of the masses. Thankfully, ClimateGate is getting bigger and skepticism is gaining with the public.  The latest Rasmussen poll shows that 50% of the public believes that climate change is caused by long term planetary trends and not man. Rasmussen's poll also found the exact opposite among the political class.
In a great sense of irony, Copenhagen received a 4 inch snow fall yesterday with temperatures predicted to stay low  for the next 3 days. How's that for Global Warming?
