What we can take from this, is that the GOP need not impose any litmus test to their candidates, because the primary voters are more that equip to weed out any wishy washy candidates. The GOP would do well to hold back on endorsements until after the people have had a chance to give the candidates the once over.
I suspect that Charlie Crist will be dropping out pretty soon.
This was out earlier today, but since I only saw Rand Paul announce it, I decided to wait until I heard from the Palin camp. Conservatives 4 Palin has confirmed it, so that is good enough for me. Here is what Rand Paul had on his website earlier today:
National political icon and conservative leader Sarah Palin has endorsed Dr. Rand Paul in his bid for United States Senate from Kentucky. The Paul campaign has received a generous donation from Governor Palin’s PAC.
Sarah Palin has clearly seen that Rand Paul supports smaller, constitutional government and is taking the fight to the career politicians and will shake up the tax and spend crowd in Washington D.C.
“Governor Palin is providing tremendous leadership as the Tea Party movement and constitutional conservatives strive to take our country back,” Rand said.
“Sarah Palin is a giant in American politics. I am proud to receive her support.”
“I’m trying to go to Washington to fight to lower taxes and spending, and for term limits and balanced budgets. I will go to protect the lives of our unborn children,” Rand said.
“I will strive to capitalize on the support of Governor Palin and so many others to go to Washington and fight for liberty and limited government and put an end to the current climate of insider politics, runaway deficits and out-of-control growth of government.”
Sarah Palin’s endorsement is another major success in a long list of achievements for the Paul campaign. Dr. Paul was recently identified as one of the five most important candidates to support by Dick Armey, Freedom Works and the National Tea Party Movement. Dr. Paul has also received endorsements from Concerned Women for America, Gun Owners of America, Steve Forbes and RedState.com,
Recent independent polls show Rand holding a double digit lead in the Republican primary and large leads over either Democratic opponent. Rand Paul has raised over $1.8 million dollars, including over $650,000 in the fourth quarter of 2009.
I have to admit to some ignorance here. I knew nothing about Bill Johnson and only know of Rand Paul’s fiscal conservatism. As far as Rand Paul’s social or foreign policy views, I need to do a little more homework. If Rand’s foreign policy views mirror his dads, then I have to say, I not that much of a fan. Fiscally though, I line up pretty close to Rand Paul.

As Speaker of the House she should be painfully aware for the $1.4 trillion budget deficit we are currently running and the $1.6 trillion dollar deficit Obama wants to run next year. Yet, here she is wasting millions in taxpayer money so her clan doesn’t have to mix with the little people.
In the movie The Matrix, machines were able to enslave the entire human race for use as an energy source. The machines were able to keep the humans in check by project a false reality to the humans. In this false reality, humans lived life at the height of the 20th century, completely oblivious to the true holocaust around them. In terms of spending, Obama is clearly living in the false reality of the Matrix.
Today President Obama has released the new budget for fiscal year 2011. It comes in at a staggering $3.8 trillion and carries an unheard of deficit of $1.6 trillion. In other words, almost half the money being spent will have to be borrowed.
WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama will propose on Monday a $3.8 trillion budget for fiscal 2011 that projects the deficit will shoot up to a record $1.6 trillion this year, but would push the red ink down to about $700 billion, or 4% of the gross domestic product, by 2013, according to congressional aides.
The deficit for the current fiscal year, which ends on Sept. 30, would eclipse last year's $1.4 trillion deficit, in part due to new spending on a proposed jobs package. The president also wants $25 billion for cash-strapped state governments, mainly to offset their funding of the Medicaid health program for the poor.
Obama speaks of investments in our future like we actually have the money to pay for these things. He believes that all this new spending will some how pay for itself down the road. Obama even wants to freeze the current level of spending for the next three years as though we could possible afford to sustain those levels.
For now Obama only offers toothless commissions, rosy economic projections, the puniest of cuts and another dose of “Blame Bush” as though any of that is sufficient to address the massive debt we are carrying today.
Obama is also proposing a new $100 billion jobs program, even though last year he told the American people that the $787 billion dollar stimulus was a jobs program designed to hold unemployment at 8%.Despite the stimulus failing miserably to keep unemployment in check and still has hundreds of billions left to be spent, Obama still wants another $100 billion to throw away.
Just the other day, Obama talked about cutting the budget and Washington living within its means.
Clearly, these were just words and just speeches. The man hasn’t a clue as to the real world consequences looming large if we do not serious reverse course with spending.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the "global arrogance" on this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
"The Islamic Revolution opened a window to liberty for the human race, which was trapped in the dead ends of materialism," Ahmadinejad said during a cabinet meeting on Sunday.
"If the Islamic Revolution had not occurred, liberalism and Marxism would have crushed all human dignity in their power-seeking and money-grubbing claws. Nothing would have remained of human and spiritual principles," he added.
Ahmadinejad said that in the three decades of its history, the Islamic Revolution had inspired some great developments in the world.
The Iranian president made the remarks as the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution approaches.
Iranians are expected to pour into the streets on February 11 to celebrate the occasion in public rallies across the country, as they have done annually over the past three decades.
Apparently the administration is taking the threat rather seriously and has deployed Patriot defense missiles to the area as well as keeping two ships in the region. I certainly would feel better about this if we had an administration that was more on the ball. Just thinking about the sloppy handling of the Panty Bomber isn’t very reassuring.

I am a black conservative from a black conservative family. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and finally settled in New Jersey. Throughout my life I knew I did not share many of the common beliefs of other American blacks.
For starters, I never took to the term African-American. I have meet too many real Africans who are now Americans, to ever with a straight face say we share something in common other than skin tones. Their history and culture is truly a unique and is a completely different experience from my own. My culture is distinctly American, from the way I speak, think, dress and act and you know what else? I love it! So for me, I will always be an American who just happens to be black.
I put myself and my beliefs out here in cyberspace, to show my fellow blacks that there is something more. That one need not accept the false promise of the next social program, the belief in government as savior or the next Democratic candidate will right all wrongs. That true Hope and Change comes from belief in yourself, in a nation that allows dynamic movement if you are bold enough, smart enough and brave enough to make it happen.
