Hypocrisy Alert! Pelosi is "proud" of Wisconsin Democrat's obsturctionism

I really do think Democrats think the American people are brain dead.  Do you remember how Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats went on and on and on about Republican obstructionism?  In case you forgot, check out Pelosi in this Rachel Maddow interview.

After watching that interview, one would think that Nancy is all about making progress right?  Well, you would be wrong.  Here is Pelosi today singing a different tune on the Wisconsin Democrats.
The Hill: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she supports the Democratic state senators in Wisconsin who left the state to stop a vote on curbing collective bargaining rights for unionized public employees.
After earlier voicing solidarity with the workers protesting against Gov. Scott Walker (R) in Wisconsin, Pelosi told The Hill she also stands behind the state legislators who fled and are now reportedly being sought by police.
“I saw some of them speak on TV, and they were very proud of the action that they took. I’m very proud of what they are doing,” she said. “They’re standing up for the rights of America's workingmen and -women to have a voice at the table about their jobs and their futures, so yes, I support them.” [...]
In other words, obstruction for me, but not for thee, hey Nancy?

Nancy Pelosi knocks John Boehner for crying

New York Times: Ha. What about John Boehner, the Ohio Republican who is expected to succeed you as House speaker in January? Did you see him tearing up on election night as he addressed his supporters?
You know what? He is known to cry. He cries sometimes when we’re having a debate on bills. If I cry, it’s about the personal loss of a friend or something like that. But when it comes to politics — no, I don’t cry. I would never think of crying about any loss of an office, because that’s always a possibility, and if you’re professional, then you deal with it professionally.

Does this woman ever listen to what comes out of her own mouth? Really it wasn’t even a year ago she was blubbering over the violence of the 1970’s.

Thank God the gavel is out of her crazy hands.

Thank You! Democrats vote to extend Nancy Pelosi’s reign of terror

Wall Street Journal: WASHINGTON—Democrats in the House of Representatives voted 150-43 Wednesday to keep House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as their leader in the new Congress, a number of lawmakers said as they emerged from the caucus meeting. […]
Earlier in the day, 68 of her fellow Democrats voted to delay the election until next month to give her critics more time to digest the midterm elections results in which Democrats lost more than 60 seats in the House.
"We just had a horrible election," said Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan, a Pelosi ally who voted to delay the caucus elections.
Well, Mr. Ryan you have pretty much guaranteed your party another horrible election for 2012! It is no secret that Nancy Pelosi has become the face of liberals gone wild. Effective or not, why would Democrats want to constantly remind voters of their greatest follies?

I can see Nancy now out in front of the press criticizing Republicans and all viewers will be able to think of  is; “God, I can't stand that woman”!

Thank you, Dems! 2012 just got a whole lot easier.

CBC to withhold support for Pelosi

All is not sunshine and lollipops in Lefty Land. Creating a new leadership position out of thin air for James Clyburn wasn’t enough to appease the Congressional Black Caucus.  They also want to know the details of the job too.
CNN: Washington (CNN) -- The Congressional Black Caucus has decided to withhold its approval for the House Democratic leadership team, denying Speaker Nancy Pelosi full support of the 42-member organization as she campaigns to remain leader.
After a nearly two hour long meeting on Monday night, chairwoman Barbara Lee of California said the group only will endorse caucus member James Clyburn of South Carolina for a leadership position. The causus first wants to know what his role will be in the Democratic leadership before backing the full slate.
"We fully support our current Whip, Mr. Clyburn, for the number three position and we are currently reserving judgment on the entire package until we see what the actual portfolio entails, in terms of responsibilities," Lee said. [MORE]
Nancy Pelosi thought she could smooth things over with the CBC by just making up a job for James Clyburn.  Now it looks like the CBC is going to turn the tables on her and try to leverage more power for Clyburn.

I am not sure if the CBC’s vote is enough to prevent Nancy from getting her leadership position.  What I do know is that the CBC has some of the most liberal members of the Democrats and it will be the more liberal members who will vote for Nancy.  It will be very interesting to see what tricks Nancy pulls to handle this sticky situation.

Well what do you know; Nancy Pelosi can create jobs after all

Fox News: House Democrats averted a messy leadership struggle, clearing the way for Maryland Rep. Steny Hoyer to become second in command of their new minority without a challenge from South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn.
Under an arrangement worked out in private, officials said late Friday that Clyburn would instead receive a new position, title unknown and duties undescribed, explicitly labeled the third-ranking post in leadership.
The maneuvering was described by Democratic officials after Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., issued a vaguely worded statement saying she intends to nominate Clyburn to a new No. 3 post. The statement made no mention of Hoyer, and officials who filled in the details did so on condition of anonymity, saying they were not permitted to speak publicly about the matter.
Who said Democrats cannot create jobs?  They most certainly can, especially when it comes to jobs for themselves. Ed Morrissey at Hot Air explains it perfectly:
Ed Morrissey: When a private sector organization loses resources and has to downsize, it has to make painful decisions on reshuffling their management to account for fewer positions, usually requiring a few demotions or outright exits.  Not so in the House Democratic caucus.  When faced with the conundrum of fitting four existing leadership members into three positions, Nancy Pelosi struggled hard for a solution — until she remembered her Democratic agenda of public-sector management and decided to just expand leadership to accommodate the odd man out.
Something else I want to point out from the article.
A race between Hoyer, D-Md., and Clyburn, D-S.C., for the post of party whip took shape in the days following the election and quickly took on racial overtones. Clyburn is the most powerful African-American in Congress, and he drew a formal endorsement from the Congressional Black Caucus. But he failed to generate enough additional support to overcome Hoyer's strength among liberals and conservatives alike, and it appeared his only options were to run against Hoyer and lose or else concede the obvious and step aside.
After reading this part, I have to say creating that job for Clyburn looks rather patronizing.  It is almost like an Affirmative Action set aside, just to keep the CBC happy and avoid the fact that Hoyer would have won with only white Democrat support.

Oh Crap! Lefties are starting to realize Pelosi 2.0 is a bad idea

Perhaps Republicans and conservatives made a little too much noise salivating over the idea of Nancy Pelosi once again leading the Dems.  Perhaps the concussion of The Shellacking is wearing off or maybe the stench of a bad idea is just too great to ignore.  Either way resistance to Pelosi as minority whip is starting to build.

The New York Times, which might as well be the DNC Newsletter, is sending up warning flags today.
Nancy Pelosi has been an extremely effective speaker of the House for four years, shepherding hundreds of important bills toward passage and withstanding solid Republican opposition. Her work in passing health care reform and strong ethics oversight achieved what many thought was legislatively impossible. But is she really the best the Democrats can come up with as their leader as they slip into the minority?
Ms. Pelosi announced on Friday that she would seek the post of House minority leader. That job is not a good match for her abilities in maneuvering legislation and trading votes, since Democrats will no longer be passing bills in the House. What they need is what Ms. Pelosi has been unable to provide: a clear and convincing voice to help Americans understand that Democratic policies are not bankrupting the country, advancing socialism or destroying freedom.
If Ms. Pelosi had been a more persuasive communicator, she could have batted away the ludicrous caricature of her painted by Republicans across the country as some kind of fur-hatted commissar jamming her diktats down the public’s throat. Both Ms. Pelosi and Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, are inside players who seem to visibly shrink on camera when defending their policies, rarely connecting with the skeptical independent voters who raged so loudly on Tuesday.
Yes, yes, I know there the Times still has a tough of delusion thrown in for good measure, but the message of no Pelosi 2.0 is clear.

The New York Times isn’t the only ones thinking along these lines. Some of the Democrats who were defeated during the Midterm Elections have penned a letter to Pelosi asking her to step aside for the good of the Party.
FOX has obtained a letter being penned by defeated House Democrats that implores House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to step aside.
The letter is now circulating Capitol Hill and has not yet been sent to the Speaker. FOX has obtained draft language of the letter.
In the draft of the letter, the members say that they were “victimized by a national wave of resentment toward Democrats, a wave that ensnared you along with us.”
The letter goes on to say “Madam Speaker, fairly or unfairly, Republicans made you the face of the resentment and disagreement in our races. While we commend your years of service to our party and your leadership through many tough times, we respectfully ask that you step aside as the top Democrat in the House.”
The letter says that the defeated members “fear that Republicans will further demonize you, and in so doing, they will scare potential candidates out. The prospect of having to run against their own party leadership, in addition to their Republican opponent is simply too daunting.”
The lawmakers also say that “one mark of a strong leader is the ability to discern when it is time to pass the baton” and calls this a “dark hour.”
The letter closes asking Pelosi to step aside.
Um, good luck with that Dems.  If Nancy Pelosi could blow off the American People, there isn’t a snowball chance in hell she is going to listen to a bunch of losers.

I still hope the Dems go off the cliff one more time and nominate Pelosi.  While having Harry Reid around as a constant reminder is nice, Pelosi is really the one people hate.  Come on Dems give us Nancy 2.0, pretty please?

Pelosi serious about running for House Minority Leader

I cannot believe the absolute level of denial and tone deafness from Nancy Pelosi.  For crying out loud she has an approval rating in the single digits.  Does she actually think she has any credibility with the American people when she speaks in opposition to John Boehner and the Republicans? It would seem to me every time Pelosi  had to get speak for Democrats, all she would do is just remind the American people exactly why they showed Democrats the door this November.

Shellacking 1.0 cleaned out a lot of Blue Dogs and now there are more hardcore lefties left, but can those lefties be so daft as to stick with Pelosi?  If so Shellacking 2.0 just got a whole lot easier.

Nancy Pelosi: “I have no regrets”

ABC News: Pelosi said she had "no regrets" after losing her position as the most powerful woman in American politics and said the country's unemployment problem was to blame for the Democrats' loss.
"We believe we did the right thing, and we worked very hard in our campaigns to convey that to the American people," she said. "Nine and a half percent unemployment is a very eclipsing event. If people don't have a job, they're not too interested in how you intend for them to have a job. They want to see results."
Asked to assess her tenure, Pelosi quickly answered, "Job well done."
No regrets, job well done? After yesterday’s delusional crap about Democrats holding the House and now this nonsense, I would be more than willing to waste some more tax dollars on getting this twit psychiatric help!

The thing that Pelosi doesn’t realize or cares to admit is that all her “accomplishments” can easily be erased. The desire to repeal ObamaCare has not retreated and her title as “most powerful woman in America” hangs by a hair as Palin strengthens her position for 2012.

I for one am doing the Snoopy Dance now that this psycho has lost control. May America never ever again be inflicted by such a disease like Nancy Pelosi. For a sobering reminder of the damage inflicted by this nutcase see Gateway Pundit.

Video: Allen West to Obama: “Welcome to the jungle”

The Shark-Tank: At the Vets for West picnic today in Delray Beach, Florida, Congressional Candidate Allen West in true form called out the Democrat Party and its spineless minions that include none other than Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Allen has already sent Madam Speaker a message-Allen West to Pelosi- “Give Me that Damn Gavel!) and ‘the Messiah’himself, President Barack H. Obama.  The Congressional Black Caucus and Congressman- impeached Federal Judge Alcee Hastings have announced that they will be campaigning against West on behalf of Congressman Ron Klein.  President Obama and Speaker Pelosi will be in Congressional District 22 next month stumping for the embattled Congressman Klein, who has been lagging in the most recent public opinion polls.
You know the Dems will pull out all the stops (including publishing his social security number) to make sure Allen West does not get to Congress.  Too bad for them Allen West won’t go quietly.  Allen West represents the new type of Republicans, Republicans who are grounded in principle and not at all afraid to get down and dirty with the Dems.

Come on Florida, send Allen West to Washington!

Nancy Pelosi tries to mix Socialism and Catholicism again

As a Catholic, you have no idea how much it angers me to hear this She-Devil use The Word to explain her evil. The Word has absolutely nothing to do with her “ends justify the means” Saul Alinski tactics. When God told us to care for the lesser among us, He meant for us to individually take on the responsibility, not for us to foist that responsibility off on a government. Having someone else do what you should gratefully want to do yourself is not Christian living.

If the Catholic Church was as brutally authoritarian as so many of its detractors claim, it would have excommunicated Nancy Pelosi decades ago. Listening to this woman twist Catholic teachings to advance her agenda is like listening to Satan himself read the Gospel.  Sickening!

Who’s that lady? Nancy Pelosi on the cover of Capital File magazine

Someone went a little hog wild with the Photoshop. Is it just me or does Nancy Pelosi now look like Katie Couric’s younger sister?
Yeas and Nays: […] Celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Ayman Hakki of Luxxery Medical Boutique in Waldorf, Md., said although he believes Pelosi has had work done (specifically Botox of the frown lines, fat injections, a mini face-lift), the image is not the product of additional plastic surgery.
“There is airbrushing around her eyes, her upper lid has been airbrushed to make it look like there is less fat on the inside,” Hakki told Yeas & Nays. “And there is airbrushing on the line of her jaw.”
He also noted her neck has been blended, and the lines on her face are very subtle.
Pelosi did not give the mag an exclusive photo op. The photos were purchased from Vintage Books and Anchor Books of Random House. Pelosi’s camp said the picture has not been airbrushed, and Capitol File did not respond for comment.[…]
As a photographer, I will tell you, every portrait needs retouching, especially when you get those tight face shots. However the key to retouching a portrait is subtlety.  When all the work is done, you should not be able to tell the photo was retouched.

Given Nancy Pelosi’s popularity, the person who retouched this photo should have known people would notice. The Pelosi camp should also know better than to think anyone would believe for a hot second that the photo was not retouched.

To give you some idea how retouching can be done right, watch the video below. Notice how all that work produces an effective, yet subtle change.

How can that many people not have heard enough about Pelosi and Reid?

I clicked on the CBS poll this morning to read about Nancy Pelosi’s 11% approval rating, but I was immediately floored by the number of people who responded that they have not heard enough about her to have an opinion. For crying out loud the woman has been Speaker of the House since 2006! Where the heck did CBS find these people, on some remote island in the Pacific?

Even less people have heard about Harry Reid! Dingy Harry was in the news almost everyday just before Christmas. Again I have to wonder who are these people CBS is polling.

The political make up of the people polled are mostly Democrats and Independents, but come on even they cannot be that uninformed.

I have to wonder do any of these people follow news or are they only interested in reading about Andre Pitre, Hot Carl and the Castle Spoilers. Geez, focus people, these clowns are running our government!

You can find the full poll results here.

Has Pelosi reached a deal with Bart Stupak?

This story is breaking on the lefty site Fire Dog Lake, so take it as you will.
From Fire Dog Lake: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made a deal with Rep. Bart Stupak in order to secure his vote and that of other anti-choice Democrats for the health care bill, which is scheduled to be voted on this Sunday. According to a member of Congress who was briefed on the matter, Pelosi has agreed to let Stupak have a vote on his amendment either before or after the House votes to pass the Senate bill. It instructs the Senate to substitute the language in his amendment for the Senate language on abortion.
FDL has obtained a copy of the concurrent resolution (PDF1PDF2PDF3PDF4), which includes cosponsors Marion Berry, Sanford Bishop, Joseph Cao, Kathy Dahlkemper, Steve Driehaus, Marcy Kaptur, Dan Lipinski, Alan Mollohan, and Nick Rahall. A second source confirms that with the exception of Cao, these are the members of Congress who are still on the fence. Cao is still considered a firm “no” vote.
The deal calls for Stupak to have a vote on his amendment either before or after the House votes to confirm the Senate bill on Sunday. Stupak is confident that he has the votes to pass the measure, and is happy to have the vote after the House passes the Senate bill. He believes that by using a “tie bar” approach, his amendment would be “tied” to the health care bill — which would require just 51 votes in the Senate.
Pro-choice members of the House, however, are demanding that the vote on the Concurrent Resolution happen before the House confirms the Senate bill. If in fact it passes, they plan to vote against confirming the Senate bill. They want Rep. Diana Degette to release the names of the 41 cosigners to her letter who pledged to vote against any bill that restricts a woman’s right to choose, and they are angry that the White House has been whipping to push through the Stupak deal.
If this is true it is pretty risky of Nancy. Pro-Choice Dems might bolt over this, unless of course Nancy’s girls only meeting was all about buying off the pro-choicers in advance.  If Nancy is cutting a deal with Stupak, which must mean she has less votes than has been publicized.

Bart Stupak is scheduled for a presser today at 11:00 am, we should know then if a deal was made and we should expect him to cave on the spot.  Stay tuned.

A Testosterone Free Zone? Pelosi to hold meeting with female Dem House members only

From Roll Call: Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is asking all female Democratic Members to attend a hastily called meeting Wednesday morning but isn’t saying what the meeting is about.
Pelosi’s office sent an e-mail out Tuesday evening requesting that all female Democrats come to the Members-only meeting at 10 a.m.
An aide to one Democratic Member said Pelosi’s office said the topic of the meeting was “to be determined.”
The meeting comes as Democratic leaders enter the final stretch of health care reform — and as they scramble to address fractures in their Caucus over abortion and immigration provisions in the bill.
I wonder what this is all about? It is being held the same time as Kucinich’s announcement. Is this going to be a plea from Pelosi to get the female House members to cave on abortion in order to woe a few pro-life dems? Michelle Malkin sees possible shenanigans afoot.

We will have to keep our eyes on this one.

Pelosi favors the Slaughter Solution

Nancy Pelosi has her foot firmly planted on the accelerator to pass ObamaCare.  Despite the Slaughter Solution being every bit as toxic as reconciliation Nancy says she “likes it”.
From the Washington Post: After laying the groundwork for a decisive vote this week on the Senate's health-care bill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested Monday that she might attempt to pass the measure without having members vote on it.
Instead, Pelosi (D-Calif.) would rely on a procedural sleight of hand: The House would vote on a more popular package of fixes to the Senate bill; under the House rule for that vote, passage would signify that lawmakers "deem" the health-care bill to be passed.
The tactic -- known as a "self-executing rule" or a "deem and pass" -- has been commonly used, although never to pass legislation as momentous as the $875 billion health-care bill. It is one of three options that Pelosi said she is considering for a late-week House vote, but she added that she prefers it because it would politically protect lawmakers who are reluctant to publicly support the measure.
"It's more insider and process-oriented than most people want to know," the speaker said in a roundtable discussion with bloggers Monday. "But I like it," she said, "because people don't have to vote on the Senate bill."
You would think that with House Reps being unable to simply vote up or down on the Senate bill, Nancy would take that reason to abandon ObamaCare.  Instead, she chooses to press on with this legislative parlor trick.

Whatever the driving force is behind this push for ObamaCare, it isn’t simple politics and it certainly isn’t for the benefit of the people.

Yeah right! Pelosi says she has the votes to pass ObamaCare today

Last night in an interview with bore snore Charlie Rose, Nancy Pelosi said she has the votes to pass ObamaCare if the vote was held today.
"Yes," Pelosi said when asked if she believed the House would end up having the votes to approve healthcare.
"If we took it up today, yes," the Speaker quickly added.

Pelosi still cautioned, though, that the timing and actual vote count on the bill couldn't be entirely set in stone until the final legislative language was finalized and until the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) delivers its score of the bill's impact.

I call BS on Nancy, If Pelosi had the votes to pass ObamaCare today, she would vote on it today. Her excuse of waiting on CBO scoring on the changes is all nonsense. The second the House signs the Senate version of the bill, Obama will sign it into law and all this chatter about reconciliation, amendments and fixes goes right out the window.

Nancy will do anything to get this thing passed in the House, even if that means voting at 3:00 AM in the morning on a Sunday with her hair on fire. The only thing stalling Nancy now is that she doesn’t have the votes. The longer this thing drags out, the less likely she will ever get the votes.

Dan Reihl agrees that Pelosi is bluffing her butt off:
Oh, please! There isn't a single analysis, Left or Right, that comes close to supporting Pelosi's claim of having the votes if the vote for ObamaCare were held today. If she had the votes, they'd be voting, not waiting for Obama's roadshow to play out. On top of that, there is no bill and no CBO scoring. But she would have the votes if they voted today?
I'm wondering if she isn't waiting for the CBO score so she can blame the White House if she can't deliver. Meanwhile, the GOP is determined to fight reconciliation, even going so far as shutting down the Senate. So, Pelosi's House Democrats aren't likely to have the cover of a fix, even if they fall for that ploy.
Here is a link to the clip of her interview with Rose if you can stomach it.   She touches on health care, Massa, Rangel and Rahm.
