Lt. Col. Allen West answers the question Michael Steele couldn’t

You will recall about two weeks ago Michael Steele was asked why blacks should vote for the GOP. Steele foolishly replied
“You really don’t have a reason, to be honest,--we haven’t done a very good job of giving you one.”
I am still rolling my eyes over that one. Now watch how Lt. Col. West answers the question and admonishes Steele too boot!

"21st Century Plantation" Col. West hit the nail on the head with the Democratic Party agenda.

Col. West has a bright future on the American political theme. The commentator moved right along when Col. West discussed attending Tea Party rallies - and not seeing any signs of racism. I've attended rallies myself and have yet to hear a racial slur or see a sign that is in any way racially motivated. The disgust with obama is not a racial disgust. It has to do with his policies and his actions.

THIS man should be RNC chair! Whereas Steele is looking for acceptance and will shape-shift to gain said acceptance, West is a firm, stand-up guy who knows and appreciates the conservative values of the Republican Party. Too many RINOs, not enough elephants.

I want to know just what "racist signs" were seen at any tea party.
I have been to tea parties, and have seen others on tv and have seen NO racist signs. Why oh why do these people get away with dropping statements like that into the interview.

Allen West is the embodiment of service to country. I know he is running for Congress, but to me, I see "President" when I look at him.

I'm very disappointed in Steele for that comment although I'd like to see his broader response so as not to take it out of context. I think that the Republican Party for many years didn't give ANYONE much of a reason to vote for them since they abandoned the principles which got them elected in the first place. If they had remained true to those principles, we wouldn't have My Hero, Zero as president.

I really like LTC West's quick and meaningful responses. To become president, though, he has to show more dynamism. As a soldier, I'm sure he's capable of it so I'm not judging him on a brief interview where he showed tremendous professionalism, emotional control, and a smooth coolness under questioning.

"21st Century Plantation" isn't just the truth, it's a winning metaphor. We dishonor the dreams of all the people whose images adorn the top of your blog if we allow this subjugation of black Americans to Massa Gubment to continue. These left-voting blacks are the true "Uncle Toms" as they see Uncle Tom.

My favorite speech is Frederick Douglass' "What shall be done with them?" He understood that paternalism was only a softened form of slavery, oppression, and racism.

Nick Rowe, I agree with your comments on this topic.

I love LTC West for his principled stands, leadership and truth telling.

I totally agree with the commenter above who said that "21st century plantation" calls it as it is and does so in the succinct way necessary to communicate the point to a broad audience. It's time to lay bare the "soft racism" of the left and their long history of USING groups to advance their politics.

Any way we could clone this guy?? I see presidential material here.

It's indeed a shame that a man of Col. West's caliber should feel compelled to leave military service. The obvious - though unstated - reason for this is the Colonel is not an ass-kissing, hyper politically correct, social experimenting, ticket puncher - of which there are entirely too many "serving" in our military (especially naval Flag rank officers). The militaries loss is the peoples gain, however. If - as MSNBC and other lib outlets allege - the Tea Party movement and conservatives are such racists ... how do they explain the huge response of same to Col. West and others like him? Conservatives are the TRUE republicans, loyal to the ideals the Colonel explained. WE are the party that supported the end of segregation and slavery and giving full rights to blacks. The Dems are the party of the KKK and segregation. Conservatives wil flock to and vote for any man who speaks out for AMERICAN values, no matter what his race or color. As another commenter pointed out - the anti-Obama movement has nothing to do with race. If it was, how could you reconcile the utter hatred for scum like Kennedy, Pelosi, Murtha, Dodd, Reid, and other caucasian politicos?
