Liberals Out of Touch, Part 638: The F*ck Tea Project

Ben Smith blog: To that end, the Agenda Project, a new, progressive group with roots in New York's fundraising scene and a goal of strengthening the progressive movement, has launched the "F.*.c.k. Tea project," which is aimed, the group's founder Erica Payne wrote in an e-mail this morning, "to dismiss the Tea Party and promote the progressive cause."
""We will be launching new products in the next several months to help people all over the country F*ck Tea," Payne told POLITICO. "Products like a Glenn Beck Bowl Buddy (Beck B Scrubbin) and others are perfect holiday gifts or just a great way to say, 'I love you and our country' to your spouse, friend or family."
Payne, a veteran consultant to progressive groups, is a co-founder of the Democracy Alliance, the low-profile group of liberal mega-donors who helped build the Center for American Progress and other new organizations that grew in the Bush years.
The new project, so far, features merchandise, polling statistics aimed to paint Tea Party members as ignorant, and a mocking video.
If the Agenda Project really wants to “dismiss the Tea Party and promote the progress cause”, then the best way to go about that would be to have any one of these abysmal progressive policies actually work on the economy. For the people facing endless unemployment, home foreclosure or withering job security, silly tee shirts, gag gifts and slogans just won’t cut it.

Unless progressives actually start turning things around the American people won’t be dismissing the Tea Party anytime soon, instead they will more likely be telling progressives everywhere: "F*ck You"!

Exactly how much more power do they want? They control states like California and New York. The control both houses of congress and the presidency.

They control the educational structure system in this country and the media.

I am sitting here listening to some looney liberal talk about how the republicans stopped a bigger stimulus and that is the reason that the unemployment rates are starting to rise. They didn't need one single republican vote to pass anything for the first year he was in office. It is stunning to me how they keep making these statements.

It is estimated that more than a million people will be in DC for the Beck rally and then again for the 9/12 march. If more people could afford it, they would come as well. Do they really think that a t shirt is going to stop that?

Violence is so permeating among the left, their only solution is to DESTROY the "bad" elements in the world.

And when they don't get their way, they go around and F*ck people with their laws and regulations.

Oh, yea! F*ck Tea is a brilliant strategy.
. . for a 12 year old.

So sad that's all they can come up with. Wake me when they figure out that what they are doing isn't working.

You know it really doesn't matter all the mess they throw - election time is coming. And another after that.
Toss them in and out, very simple and on a regular basis.

As someone who enjoys tea, I find this offensive. As someone who supports the legitimate dissent of the Tea Party, I find it offensive. As someone who outgrew Grade Two antics, I find it offensive.
Counter that stupid t-shirt with another bearing the slogan: "The Tea Party- come for the protest, stay for the orange pekoe"
Or some such thing. Fight the idiocy is my point.

And these folks are supposed to be our intellectual elite? Perhaps the only good thing to come out of the 2008 election is that it exposes for all to see (at least as long as they are looking to alternative media) how intellectually bankrupt and arrogant the progressive left really is. That really is not a good combination for success.

I guess that the White House created "Coffee Party" isn't working out as well as they planned.

Great comments.

This kind of language on a tee shirt? Wow. It reminds me of those two kids who wore their shirts with the word C*** on them, describing Sarah Palin. I don't care who it is -- those seem to be the kinds of things badly-raised children would feel comfortable wearing in public. Just because one can, doesn't mean one should wear their freedom of speech in public. If someone in my family wore something like this in public, they would get a spanking and a great big time out.

@Clifton,

I got so angry at the playground antics of their video that I produced a video response.

Don’t you just love it when these libs tell you that “Muslims also were among the 3000 people who died that day while at work in the towers. Are they also to blame for it?”

Iv’e been hearing that crap for an argument for weeks now. I wasn’t buying it then and I ain’t buying it now…… Let us be clear: al-Qaeda killed nearly 3000 people on that day. Muslim or not! I am not against the mosque per se, but I am concerned with the unmistakable message of Muslim triumphalism accompanying it. It has been said the mosque will be a place for peace and reconciliation. If so, then why the name “Cordoba”? The Cordoba name is reference is an obvious declaration of Muslim triumphing over the West. It would be like proposing to build a Christian church directly in the heart of Hiroshima and calling it the Enola Gay initiative. Where does the spirit of Freedom of religion end, and rubbing salt into the wound, and slapping us in our faces by insisting. Where the hell were these gentle folks all these years, why weren’t they condemning the “Extremists” Muslims ?
If you really think about it, the Muslims that were killed on that day should feel the same way! We hear all day long about the Muslims who preach how it was extremists that bombed the twin towers. Well yes it was the Muslims , and who knows who these Muslims that are so hot on this project are! Maybe they are “Extremists” Muslims and maybe not. I personally don’t care. I don’t want it there

Blame professulas whose posh pensions graze on stumbent loan interest from vacuous degrees in basket weaving commie nutty organizing. Turn grant grubbing blatherers into fuel, especially perverts like mayor crotch who gas for obsama zbin biden. Your islamosympathic gutterswabbing clothing and pierced privates spread disease. If you weren't such baby killing, vermin snuggling perverts you wouldn't be driving up our health costs, then collecting disability for your commie nutty organizing dementia. Your passive aggressive labor unions grab our guns, cars (congestion pricing), balls (SONDA), wallets, and homes but we will grab your throats and dang you from trailer bone tolls. Apply Sarbanes Oxley to non-profits! Repeal the seventeenth amendment before any VAT. All the homeless are drugged out hippies. Second Amendment is the ONLY Homeland Security. Wait until we waste all your stumbent subprimes, so you need to sell your affectation glutton art and work instead of diverting tuition and Y2K scams to soviet freezeniks! Deport for multiple visits to same country. If you controlled your own pension neither your boss nor the government could abuse it. Lynch soviet wealth fund abetting aghadhimmic peakies when oil plummets! Parasites complain about salaries but pig out with benefits. Global warming is a grant grubbing extortion racket. Congressional Republicans are making a big issue of the federal deficit, blaming it on President Obama and the Democrats. That’s nonsense.

Four major elements are contributing to the annual deficit, now at about $1.4 trillion: the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the recession, the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003, and the Obama administration’s stimulus program. But the stimulus will diminish by half in 2011 and be gone entirely the following year. That leaves the other three, all outgrowths of the Bush regime.

That is, unless the tax cuts are allowed to expire at the end of this year. If they do expire, income taxes will go up slightly for middle-class Americans but significantly for the 2 percent who are genuinely rich. And the deficit will be reduced by $3.7 trillion over the next 10 years.

Contrary to Republican dogma, cutting taxes has not produced prosperity. When George W. Bush entered office, the budget had a surplus. By the time he left office, it had a deficit of $1 trillion.

We’ve been duped by the Republicans’ voodoo economics for more than 30 years now. The only administrations that have produced balanced budgets have been those of Harry Truman and Bill Clinton, both Democrats. There’s no way the deficit can be reduced without a combination of spending cuts and increased revenues. The Republicans know this, but they’d rather frighten voters to win elections than do what is right for the country.

Well, no one ever accused the lefties of having any class. So much anger... yeesh. If they had a real message to send and if they truly cared about this country, they wouldn't have to resort to such vulgar and classless tactics.

Vote them all in and out on a regular basis.....I know, boring comment, but no one should stay more than two terms.

Yeah, that message will really bring in Middle Americans, grandmothers etc.

Hardcore liberals only appeal to other lefties with juvenile messages like that.

I suppose they have to go with what they have, which ain't much, apparently.
