I don’t know about you, but I have grown very tired of the word “unexpected”. I am especially tired of hearing that word in conjunction with “unemployment”! Just last week unemployment claims “unexpectedly” topped 484k and now this:
CNBC: New U.S. claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly climbed to a nine-month high last week, yet another setback to the frail economic recovery.
Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 12,000 to a seasonally adjusted 500,000 in the week ended August 14, the highest since mid-November, the Labor Department said on Thursday.
Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast claims slipping to 476,000 from the previously reported 484,000 the prior week, which was revised up to 488,000 in Thursday's report. [MORE]
Michelle Malkin says that the use of the word “unexpected” has now reached the point of parody. Sorry, Michelle, it has gone way beyond that to the point of being a cruel joke.

These claims are "unexpected" because the socialist really "expect" their over tax and yet even more over spend to actually work. Since it's a complete failure, unemployment keeps "unexpectly" goes up. As for this so called frail recovery. There is no recovery, our economy is continuing a downwards slide as the terriable and irresponsible economic policies continue their destructive course.
How Orwellian -- I, for one, expect unemployment to go up all the time with these lousy, confidence-eroding economic policies; they tell me it's "unexpected." War is peace. Freedom is slavery. The expected is unexpected. Wake me up in 1985. Please.
"Unexpected" is just a word they use to avoid taking responsibility. I didn't expect for both my husband and myself to remain unemployed for over a year, but that is what has happened. I didn't expect for employers to disregard us because we were over qualified. They hire under qualified idiots all the time, God forbid they err on the overqualified side of the spectrum. But that is just me venting and that should probably be reserved for my own blog not polluting yours. Thanks for keeping the truth out there to be seen.
Oops!
The Obama administration is deliberately destroying our economy, and discouraging job creation in the private sector, and I don't believe that's an unfair assessment.
Obama's illegally funneling tax dollars through USAID to fund the outsourcing of high paying jobs to Sri Lanka, Armenia and Bosnia, and to fund Microsoft, Sun and Oracle's expansion to those companies.. why aren't those companies paying their own way?
What's more, the democrats and Obama refused to enact a budget for the US for 2011, but the Obama admin has put together an international budget for 2011 http://scr.bi/9HNL78, where they lay out their plan to make us all pay to fund Asia, Latin American and all other nations in the world. There's also speculation that they plan on doing this by fiat, by not involving congress. In fact, lots of the money we borrow from China is sent to China as foreign aid, under Obama because he wants to view it as a "developing nation". We give 18 billion each year to India, why? They're extremely wealthy.
Obama's every policy has been to increase the costs and burdens of employers, his admin, while doling out SBA grants and loans to foreign nationals, is refusing to give them to Americans, especially American companies that now want to return to the US from China, Latin America and elsewhere. I've read one article after another on the subject, of companies who need even small amounts to start up in the US again, being refused and ignored. I've read about the inventor of a better alternative automobile battery than the looney lithium battery Obama gave millions to a South Korean corporation to develop, but the Obama admin refused to provide SBA loans or grants to open up a factory here, he ended up opening up in China, because they sought him out.
