Sarah Palin discusses Trump's birtherism

Palin: "Well, I appreciate the The Donald wants to spend his resources in getting to the bottom of something that so interest him and so many Americans. You know, more power to him. He is not just throwing stones from the sidelines, he is digging in there, paying for researchers to find out why President Obama would have spent $2 million to not show his birth certificate".
Palin is a smart cookie. She knows better than to allow herself to be painted as a birther, yet she is utilizing the opening Trump made cast suspicion on Obama's actions. Most of today's Republican candidates simply distance themselves from Trump and would never ever, think about capitalizing on the opening Trump has created.

Should Trump ever make it to the debates, Republicans would be well advised not to cross him. Time and again Trump has shown that he likes to get into nasty public disputes. His battle with Rosy O'Donnell and his recent spat with New York Times columnist Gail Collins are just some examples.

You can see all of Palin's interview with Judge Jeanine over at The Right Scoop.

I loved Trump's comment on Gail Collins. Trump's too high profile to be ingored on the birther issue and I'm frankly glad he's openly pursuing it. He's also willing to bite back at the MSM, which is my biggest issue with all the Republican candidates - the sooner they all realize the press will NEVER give them a fair shake, the better they will all be. In the mean time, Trump is great for a headline or a soundbite

Has anybody ever made a statement as to why Obama's birth certificate is not a public record? Anybody? Anyplace? Anytime?

Very smart response, as usual. I wish more people would persistently "wonder" aloud about the money piece of it-- why would someone spend that much money to keep records a secret? You don't have to be a "birther" to wonder about that. That's just logic. Who knows what it is exactly, but a person spending that kind of dough on cover-up is covering something.

I used to dislike Trump, especially his obsession to put his name on everything, including steaks.

But now I have a new found appreciation of this guy. It's hard to find someone who's among the rich and wealthy [NY] high society, yet has balls.

If I remember all of the discussion of Trig's birth certificate correctly, then yes, as some have pointed out,it could be a revised birth certificate because of adoption. But as far as I know, they don't change the birth DATE on the adoptive version. You can't just say the kid was born the day somebody adopted him. It has to have his correct birth DATE. And that is part of the issue. Just as nobody has been able to confirm that Trig is or is not Sarah's biological child, we also have not been able to confirm the birth date of Trig. That is really the only piece of information that we can gain from the certificate itself.

I think Trump is a wonderful distraction today. However, once the race gets seriously underway, I hope he makes a hasty exit.

Nope and the MSM will make sure it stays that way.

Much of Obama's history is closed to the public and the media is ready to take anyone to task who starts asking why. In this sense, Trump is doing a good service. He would do better to broaden his question from the birth certificate to Obama's other records.

There are quite a few ballys NYers left. The tend to be of the native variety (e.g. myself).

There is just one big problem with your Trig inquire. Trig Palin is not President of the United State and therefore who gives a rip about his birth certificate.

The real reason Obama hasn't released his "long-form" birth certificate?

1. He has it and is not releasing it because independents flock to him whenever the far right brings this up.

2. It was accidentally destroyed or lost.

Continuing to make this silly claim can only hurt the Republicans.

Just a quick point of order. You do realize that Factcheck.org gets its primary funding from the Annenberg Foundation? The very same organization that ran the Chicago Annenberg Challenge that Obama was president of.

Doesn't it seem like a conflict of interest for them to be the ones who claim to have verifed Obama's BC.

It is funny little things like this and the media's eagerness to discredit any questioners why the whole birther conspiracy exists.

Why Obama simply won't release it is probably two reasons.
1. your first reason is one of them
2. there maybe some info on it that is hard to explain. (I hear of talk about a name change).

I doubt your second reason. I needed to upgrade my old NYC birth certificate, one hour and $15 later I had the new version. So loosing it is hardly an excuse.

I didn't know that about Factcheck. Can you find anything wrong with their page on Obama's birth certificate?

The media isn't covering this because America couldn't care less about his birth certificate. There is nothing nefarious about Obama - at least nothing *super* nefarious - the guy is still backed by billions of dollars of special interests.

NE:

Yes, Factcheck is not a neutral source when it comes to Obama. That being said, I cannot find anything wrong with their page because I really do not care that much about the birth certificate issue. If there truly was a problem with it, the time to have pointed that out has long come and gone.

Much of Obama's history is closed. Whatever was told to the public was readily accepted by the media and spewed forth as gospel.

Re: Obama being nefarious, I would say only in the sense that he is constantly being presented as a centrist when everything points to him being a socialist.

Just study Obama's record, history, associations and cabinet and everywhere you look you find another dried up tired socialist pushing the failed system of socialism.
