CNN: Former U.S. Senator John Edwards, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and campaign law violations in early June. His mug shot was obtained by CNN following a Freedom of Information Act request.

The plea came after a federal grand jury indicted him on six counts, including conspiracy, issuing false statements and violating campaign contribution laws.

A grand jury has been investigating whether money given to support Edwards' mistress, Rielle Hunter, by benefactors of Edwards should have been considered campaign donations, a contention Edwards' team has disputed.

A plea deal between the two-time presidential candidate and the U.S. Justice Department fell apart over the the Department's requirement that Edwards serve jail time. Wanting to have "minimal" impact on his two younger children, the former senator refused to agree.

Is this guy a narcissistic tool or what? Who smiles for a mug shot? Just think this clown almost hoodwinked the American public into voting for him for vice president. If the Lamestream media put Democrats under the same microscope as they do Sarah Palin, this clown would have been found out before John Kerry picked him. Heck if the media did their job the current clown in chief would still be back in Chicago.

Rielle Hunter tells all to GQ

GQ Magazine has a very extensive interview with John Edwards’ baby’s mama Rielle Hunter. In the interview Hunter goes into all sorts of details, like how she and Edwards met, how Edwards feared his wife, the sex tape and more.  Here is a little sample: 

Love at first sight?: “He called me the next day. We talked on the phone almost every night for four hours. We met on February 21. On February 25-on the phone, from Des Moines, Iowa-I fell in love with him. Head over heels in love. I was a goner. … He doesn’t lie to me…and well, first of all, infidelity doesn’t happen in healthy marriages. The break in the marriage happens before the infidelity. And that break happened, you know, two and a half decades before I got there. So the home was wrecked already. I was not the Home Wrecker.” 

Also make sure you check out the pictures. I find it very odd that she would take a photo like the one above and then this photo with her son. What is the angle?  Is she trying blend the roles of mom and mistress?

I wonder if Rielle not understand that her child will one day be able to read about all of this?  In certain aspects, her interview reminds me a lot like all the blabbering Mark Sanford did.

I starting to miss the old days, when people who got caught in a scandal were embarrassed enough to disappear from public sight until the whole thing blew over. Today, they get caught and it is lights, camera, action and Ka-Ching!

When Andy Met Johnny – New Dirt On John Edward’s Affair

Ben Smith at Politico has a rather strange piece today about Andrew Young, John Edward’s “special assistant” who once covered up for all of Edward’s baby mama drama.

Smith hints heavily at Andrew Young having some sort of a bizarre unrequited metrosexual man crush on Edwards.

From Politico:

Young sometimes described himself as Edwards’s “special assistant” and dreamed of serving in an Edwards White House. Other aides, with a combination of disgust — and, perhaps, a bit of envy — referred to him as Edwards’s “personal servant,” or worse, Edwards’s “butt boy.” The relationship was so intense, at least on Young’s side, that it generated friction between him and Elizabeth Edwards. But if Elizabeth and John Edwards sometimes seemed to feel that Young — at 40 no longer an eager kid, with three children of his own — had gotten too close, there was no getting rid of him. He had made himself indispensable.

And

“He believed that Edwards was the next Kennedy,” said a person who was close to Young. “It’s not enough to say that he idolized the guy — there’s something deeper and weirder than that.”

Oh and it goes on like that for about 4 pages. Now here is the kicker, a scorned Andrew Young is now peddling a tell-all book and claims to be in possession of a videotape featuring John Edwards and Rielle Hunter.

More and more with each passing day, Hillary Clinton is looking like she would have been the best one the Democrats had to pick from.

John Edwards prepares for baby mama drama

John Edwards is preparing to fess up to being Rielle Hunter’s baby’s daddy. Like we all did not see that coming. If cheating on his cancer stricken wife was not sleazy enough, he actually had a child out of wedlock with his mistress to boot.

What I find particularly galling about Edwards is that during his latest campaign he lectured America about its compassion. His Two Americas theme was such a poor match for him, seeing how he clearly represented the Have side of the Haves and Have Not equation.

Edwards always struck me as a sleazy used cars salesman. He would be the perfect pitch man to "sell that hunk of junk" called Obamacare.

I suspect he fathered that child just to prove his manhood after Ann Coulter called him a faggot.
