Video: Patrick Kennedy has a Howard Dean meltdown on the House floor

In case you all missed this one tonight, here is retiring House Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) having a Howard Dean moment on the House floor. What caused Patrick to loose it?
From Sister Toldjah: The resolution in question is one sponsored by anti-war radical Rep. Dennis Kucinich in which the President would have to withdraw troops from Afghanistan within 30 days if “safety issues” were involved. Yeah, I know – but remember, this is Dennis Kucinich we’re talking about here.
I know I shouldn’t ask, but do you think Patrick is hittin’ the sauce again? I know, bad Cliff, bad, bad, Cliff.

Patrick Kennedy will not seek re-election

Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) issued a brief two-minute video, explaining why he will not seek re-election in 2010.

Patrick’s eight terms in the House were spotted with substance abuse problems. While the people of Rhode Island were quite forgiving to say the least, such generosity from the people may not have been forthcoming this time around.

From Hot Air:
John Loughlin is not named in the poll, but he may have fared far better than the elected officials who were.
Nearly 6 in 10 registered voters in the First Congressional District would consider another candidate or vote to replace Loughlin’s opponent, U.S. Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy, according to a WPRI-TV, Channel 12 survey released Thursday night.
The poll offers a snapshot of an abysmal political climate for Democrats that could present serious problems for the eight-term incumbent Kennedy, according to pollster Joseph Fleming.
“It looks like it could be a very competitive race, which we haven’t seen in many years,” Fleming said, noting that Election Day is still nine months away. “I think people, right now, are really looking at who’s in office, and they’re considering somebody else.”
No wonder Patrick got all testy about Scott Brown the other day. It wasn’t so much that Brown replaced his father in the Senate, it is because Brown’s victory gave Rhode Island voters a bright idea.

Come 2011 Congress will be a Kennedy free zone for the first time since 1962. Now that is a change I can believe in!

Sour Grapes: Patrick Kennedy says Scott Brown’s candidacy is “a joke”

Somebody sounds like they are just a wee bit upset that daddy’s seat went bye-bye.

From The Hill
Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.) castigated Brown for having pushed to be sworn in ahead of schedule to permanently fill the Senate seat left vacant by the congressman's father's death in August.
"Brown's whole candidacy was shown to be a joke today when he was sworn in early in order to cast his first vote as an objection to Obama's appointment to the NLRB (National Labor Relations Board)," Kennedy said Thursday.

"Seven out of ten of Brown's voters were labor households and he stressed that he was independent and while he was originally scheduled to be sworn in next week, they moved it up to today so he could cast his first vote, the most anti-labor, the most anti-what his constituents thought they were voting for when they voted for him," Kennedy said.

"This is where he shows that when they need him, he's in the tank for the Republicans," Kennedy said.

I would love to know just what Patrick Kennedy thinks the nickname “41” actually refers to for Scott Brown?  The people of Massachusetts sent Scott Brown to Washington to put the brakes on Obama’s leftist agenda.  If they wanted another person to simply rubber stamp it, they would have voted for Martha Coakley.

If Patrick wants to sport such sour grapes, perhaps we should all send Scott Brown some Mary Jo Kopechne photos to hang about the newly reclaimed People’s Office, just to remind Patrick that the Kennedy name just ain’t what it use to be.
