The good news keeps on coming: Air America goes bankrupt!

I am beginning to believe Jesus is a Tea Party Patriot.  This week is looking like God is punishing the left for antagonizing Americans all year!  First, Massachusetts gives the Dems one hell of a bitch slap and elects Scott Brown the REPUBLICAN to replace Ted Kennedy. The SCOTUS gives the green light to corporations to run campaign ads against anybody. Nancy cannot scare up enough votes for ObamaCare [it’s dead!] and now Air America goes belly up
It is with the greatest regret, on behalf of our Board, that we must announce that Air America Media is ceasing its live programming operations as of this afternoon, and that the Company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding-down of the business…
Either way you slice it, somebody up there likes us!

Barack Obama is FOS: No healthcare reform = US Bankruptcy

During an interview with Charlie Gibson, Obama warns that if Obamacare does not pass, the US could face bankruptcy.

From ABC News:
President Obama told ABC News’ Charles Gibson in an interview that if Congress does not pass health care legislation that will bring down costs, the federal government “will go bankrupt.”
The president laid out a dire scenario of what will happen if his health care reform effort fails.
“If we don't pass it, here's the guarantee….your premiums will go up, your employers are going to load up more costs on you,” he said. “Potentially they're going to drop your coverage, because they just can't afford an increase of 25 percent, 30 percent in terms of the costs of providing health care to employees each and every year. “
The president said that the costs of Medicare and Medicaid are on an “unsustainable” trajectory and if there is no action taken to bring them down, “the federal government will go bankrupt.”
“This actually provides us the best chance of starting to bend the cost curve on the government expenditures in Medicare and Medicaid,” Obama said. Click here for video.
Talk about being full of s—t! If anything, passing Obamacare and adding another trillion to the deficit is what will bankrupt the nation. Is anyone still buying Obama's Chicken Little impersonations after the stimulus? If so, please give me their names and addresses, because I have a few bridges to sell.
Obama’s fear mongering is the exact thing liberals accused Bush of doing with stating the dangers of terrorism. I wonder if they will call out Obama? Doubt it!

Ruth Bader Ginsberg taps the brakes.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has temporarily delayed Chrysler's sale to Fiat. Ginsburg says in an order Monday that the sale is "stayed pending further order."

I have to admit that this move by Ginsburg surprised me. I had heard that the Indiana benefits plan's case coming before her. However, I suspected that Ginsburg was going to rubber stamp the deal for Obama. Well surprise, surprise, surprise. I hope that the Supreme Court gives the Obama administration a real hard slap down over all these crazy TARP shenanigans.

If the Supremes rule that, all this direct government intervention into the private sector contracts is unconstitutional, then maybe we won't ever have to worry about the Pay Czar, government control of banks or ugly little cars from the new GM!

Chrysler’s Bankruptcy: A complete waste of tax dollars.

Chrysler is headed for bankruptcy after all (and it looks like GM is right behind them). This is exactly what Republicans like Mitt Romney were saying to do, way back in November. Had we followed their advice, the taxpayers would have saved billions!

Why didn’t we just let the automakers go bankrupt then? The Democrats in Congress would not have gone for it. They would never allow the UAW to suffer its deserved fate in bankruptcy court. President Bush would not do it because he was worried about his legacy and lacking true conservative principles, fell for phony bailout arguments.

The phony arguments were that if the automakers went bankrupt, thousands of jobs would have been lost and thus threaten to pushing the economy into depression. Well, since Obama has become president, thousands of jobs have been lost (h/t to Emptysuit) and it did not push us over the edge. The other bogus argument was that no one would buy a car from a bankrupt automaker because of warranty concerns. Obama "solved" that problem.

But did the warranty problem really need solving? People have been buying used cars without warranties forever. If people are willing to take a risk buying a used car without a warranty, who would not risk buying a brand new car without a warranty? Especially, if the price was slashed enough. How about a brand new 300M at 50% off with no warranty, worth the risk ain’t it?

Now we have Chrysler headed to bankruptcy court with the government by its side. The government will no doubt exert all of its influence to make sure it ends up with a huge share in the new company and that the UAW comes out far better than they would have on their own. But is this what we the people really want?

Does the American people want to be shareholders in Chrysler? Do we want such a large company run by our government? Will Americans even by the cars that are produced by the new Chrysler? None of these questions would have to asked if we just let the free market run its course.

My predictions are that, we are going to get stuck with UAW legacy costs, private shareholders will get screwed, the new Chrysler is going to be constantly subsidized one way or another and the new Chrysler is going to produce crummy little Green Cars.
