Video: James O’Keefe’s Census Fraud Investigation

Try as I might I really could not get excited about this James O’Keefe investigation. I have worked in the private sector all my life. I have gone through tons of training programs and even in the private sector they are rather flippant with trainee’s hours. Granted these Census supervisors are being flippant with money that we must borrow from China, but in the end I still would not call this hardcore corruption.

After O’Keefe and Giles’ stunning success with the ACORN tape, I think we are all looking for O’Keefe to top that act and bring down some big fish. I was expecting O’Keefe to catch these guys cooking the actual enumeration. Now that would have been BIG news.

What was rather enlightening (or perhaps dismaying) is that O’Keefe used his real name and no disguise here. After the ACORN video, you might have expected someone to recognize his face or name.

The Guessing Game: The Death of Census Worker Bill Sparkman

Since the death of Census worker Bill Sparkman was reported last week, there seems to be no end to guessing what was the cause of his murder. Upon hearing the gruesome details about how his body was found with his ID taped to him and the words “Fed” scrawled across his chest, many on the left have instantly jumped to the conclusion that Sparkman’s death was the result of anti-government sentiment whipped up by the right.

The left blame two of their favorite targets, Glenn Beck and Michelle Bachmann. Beck gets blamed for his anti-Washington tone and Bachmann because she spoke out against the Census (the leave out that ACORN’s involvement had a lot to do with her reservations).

The right is obviously willing to entertain different ideas, taking into account the location of the murder. The area of Kentucky where the body was found is known for meth labs and marijuana fields. Dan Riehl from Riehl World View offers another perspective, suggesting that Sparkman may have been a child predator.

There really is no way of know for sure what the motive was behind Sparkman’s murder at this time. However, one blogger has decided not to sit at home and speculate. RS McCain from The Other McCain is actually on a road trip to Kentucky to get a first hand account. When it comes to getting the true details, nothing beats good old fashion shoe leather.

Alleluia! The US Census and ACORN part company!

The most diabolical partnership of all time is no more. After the release of videos depicting two shocking examples of ACORN’s criminal activities, the US Census has finally come to its senses and kicked ACORN to the curb!

From Fox News:

"Over the last several months, through ongoing communication with our regional offices, it is clear that ACORN's affiliation with the 2010 Census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 Census efforts," read a letter from Census Director Robert M. Groves to the president of ACORN.

"Unfortunately, we no longer have confidence that our national partnership agreement is being effectively managed through your many local offices. For the reasons stated, we therefore have decided to terminate the partnership," the letter said.

The news follows the firing Friday of two more ACORN employees after new hidden-camera footage showed workers for the group advising a couple posing as a pimp and prostitute how to subvert the law.

Noticed the part I emphasized? That my friends are you and I, people who wrote to Congress, signed Michelle Bachmann’s petition and made our voices known that we did not want that criminal organization anywhere near the census.

I would love to know who on earth was the complete moron who thought ACORN was worthy of helping out with the census. Just from ACORN’s long history of election fraud, they should have been deem persona non grata from the get go. Now the big question, will ACORN just be replaced with another organization that has ties to ACORN? Keep an eye out for that.

In addition to the Census kicking ACORN to the curb, the two girls in the DC video got fired as well as the two from Baltimore. If ACORN thinks that it can hide its evil deed with low-level firings, they have another thing coming to them. People are wise to their game now.

Here is ACORN’s latest response:

The group's leaders said Friday they were "appalled and angry" at what their staffers had done, but insisted the videos were part of a political "smear" campaign and not representative of the institution as a whole.

"But that does not excuse the behavior of the employees," wrote ACORN's president Alton Bennet and executive director Mike Shea. "We have fired them and are initiating an internal review of practices and reminding all staff of their obligation to uphold the highest legal and ethical standards."

Are any of you buying that? You know all they are going to do is to tell their staff how to cover their asses better.

Now here is the part that will make your blood boil, the Baltimore city’s state attorney is considering going after the two who made the tape of ACORN!

From WBAL AM 1090

STATEMENT OF STATE’S ATTORNEYS OFFICE FOR BALTIMORE CITY RELATIVE TO THE ALLEGED BALTIMORE ACORN INCIDENT

Baltimore, MD – September 11, 2009 – We have received inquiries from citizens and the media asking whether the Baltimore City State’s Attorneys Office would initiate a criminal investigation for acts allegedly committed at ACORN offices located in Baltimore. The only information received in reference to this alleged criminal behavior was a YouTube video. Upon review by this office, the video appears to be incomplete. In addition, the audio portion could possibly have been obtained in violation of Maryland Law, Annotated Code of Maryland Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article §10-402, which requires two party consent.

If it is determined that the audio portion now being heard on YouTube was illegally obtained, it is also illegal under Maryland Law to willfully use or willfully disclose the content of said audio. The penalty for the unlawful interception, disclosure or use of it is a felony punishable up to 5 years.

Talk about no good deed goes unpunished! Notice the emphasized part here too? Says a lot doesn’t it? You can contact Baltimore city’s state attorney here and let her know she is being a damn fool.

Michele Bachmann: ACORN + Census = N.O.Y.B.

Once again I am impressed by the way Michele Bachmann stands up against all the foolishness in Washington. While other Republicans simply lament the outright nefariousness of ACORN, Bachmann takes a stand. First she organized a petition against funding ACORN with tax dollars until they are thoroughly investigated and now she is refusing to play the ACORN census game.

In an interview Wednesday morning with The Washington Times "America's Morning News," Mrs. Bachmann, Minnesota Republican, said the questions have become "very intricate, very personal" and she also fears ACORN, the community organizing group that came under fire for its voter registration efforts last year, will be part of the Census Bureau's door-to-door information collection efforts.

"I know for my family the only question we will be answering is how many people are in our home," she said. "We won't be answering any information beyond that, because the Constitution doesn't require any information beyond that."

Quite frankly, I too am uncomfortable giving personal information to anyone connected with ACORN. Identity theft and ACORN are no strangers. On one hand, failing to answer census questions does carry a fine up to $5,000. However, the Constitution only requires a counting of the people by the government, it does not require you to answer any specific questions.
With all the obvious shenanigans getting ready to be played with the census, I too feel like not answering the whole thing. Why should I help out with whatever scam ACORN and this administration are up to?
