Obama again addressed the public concerning the Underpants Bomber’s failed bomb plot. This time Obama admits that there was a “systemic failure”. I guess all that clap trap about allegedly and suspect didn’t get his ass out of hot water so no he is going one step further.
From The New York Times:
“A systemic failure has occurred, and I consider that totally unacceptable,” Mr. Obama said. He said he had ordered government agencies to give him a preliminary report on Thursday about what happened and added that he would “insist on accountability at every level,” although he did not elaborate.
Mr. Obama alluded to the intelligence in his statement. “Had this critical information been shared, it could have been compiled with other intelligence and a fuller, clearer picture of the suspect would have emerged,” the president said. “The warning signs would have triggered red flags, and the suspect would have never been allowed to board that plane for America.”
Well it seems like Obama is finding out the hard way that crapping on the CIA and hampering their efforts has its bad points. This is what happens when he allows Eric Holder to run rough shod over the CIA. The CIA stops sticking its neck out.
Also what is interesting to note here is that Bush faced the same situation [not enough intelligence sharing] almost 8 years ago and many on the left was not happy with that answer. I wonder if they will be happy with it now?
Oh, and another thing. Would someone please tell the Ding Dong in Chief to put on a necktie? Appearing without a tie and speaking on such important matters only reminds people that he is still on his Hawaiian vacation.

I think the necktie thing was staged to promote a feeling of urgency, which might have worked if it had been the day of the event. Since he's had a few rounds of golf, and enjoyed some tropical heat, while a substantial part of the mainland has dealt with bitter cold weather, the lack of a tie, IMO, is similar to Obama thumbing his nose at me.
Excellent assessment. Thank you for your wonderful contributions to the blog-o-sphere.
Where is Hillary? It is her department that didn't pull his visa.
Okay, you said exactly what I've been thinking. Will we finally be able to share intelligence amongst agencies without howls from the left? And why does he think it's okay to NOT wear a necktie? I couldn't stop staring at his open-necked shirt and thinking about how President Bush would don his jacket before entering the Oval Office because he felt that it was a sign of respect for both the office and the people. Oh. Question answered.
Namaste:
Yes when it comes to certain issues, it is a waste of time.

I think team Obama allowed the whole vacation thing to get in the way of everything. Fair or not that lack of a necktie in this situation conveys a certain casualness that is way too inappropriate. Especially since he is three days late to the party.

Thank you very much and welcome to ABC!

Hillary has been MIA ever since she was given her job. I am hard press to think of a single major foreign development where Hillary played a role. Given how this administration is working out, perhaps being MIA is a good thing for Hillary.

One of the things that makes me notice the necktie is when I think back to how controlled images were during the campaign. They did everything to convey certain messages. Now that Obama is president, that tight image control is completely gone.
Why wouldn't he put on a necktie. Given the backdrop of a solid dark blue curtain, one could almost forget he was vacationing in Hawaii, but then they had to skip the necktie and remind us all he is on vacation. Poor choice!
Right, ding-dong in chief should've GENUINELY looked disheveled the day/night of the attack (yes, it was an "attack", but the powder didn't fully ignite), but instead it was all contrived 3 days late. *Sigh*. the dude is such a phony. It's downright insulting.
I can't believe that some of you are so hung up on President Obama not wearing a tie! Even if he had worn one, some of you would have still found a way to criticize him. The tie would have been the wrong color, it wasn't straight enough for you, etc.
