Sarah Palin to meet with Margaret Thatcher

Daily Mail: Controversial US politician Sarah Palin could soon be on her way to Britain to boost her hopes of challenging Barack Obama in the 2012 US presidential election.
Her representatives approached Margaret Thatcher to ask for a meeting as part of a bid to enhance her claim to be the ‘heir to Ronald Reagan’ and prepare to challenge Mr Obama.
And Lady Thatcher has agreed to see Mrs Palin, who stood as the Republican vice-presidential candidate in 2008. A spokesman said: ‘We had an informal approach asking if Lady Thatcher would meet Mrs Palin if she comes to Britain and we said yes.’
I think this can be considered the most obvious tip off to date that Palin is going to run in 2012. The meeting will do two things for Palin. It (along with her speech in China) will add more international exposure to her resume and it helps her claim the mantle of Reagan.  Not that Palin needs any help with the latter. Out of all the Republicans to come rolling down the pike since Reagan, Palin is the closest Reagan clone by far.

I would pay good money to be a fly on the wall at that meeting. Both Palin and Thatcher have a natural knack for using simple truths to bash the brains out of their opponents. Remember this video?

I still really like Sarah but am sooo concerned about how much immense negative media she gets and how many stupid rumors there are floating around about her. I just feel like it would be a super uphill battle for her... I wonder how she will conquer all of these challenges AND put out a positive message. Good luck Sarah!

I have long felt the same way that Lisa does about Sarah Palin. I love her but worry that she's been too damaged, is too much of a lightning rod for even moderate and indie criticism (I wouldn't care a bit if it were only radical loons who have doubts about her). But this Thatcher meeting is a stroke of pure genius. Wouldn't it be absolutely fantastic if the Prime Minister went so far as to endorse Palin? That kind of an endorsement would turn so very much around for her. OMG, I can hear the moans and shrieks of horror at 1600 already.

Why do you call Sarah Palin "controversial"? What is it that can give raise to controversy in her life or achievements, her daughter having a child out of wedlock, her raising a down syndrome child, her writing notes on her palm? The leftists who are terrified at the thought they could loose power to an honest American candidate in 2012 stop at nothing to drag her in the mud, even though there is no mud she can be dragged in. Actually, it is their rage against Mrs. Palin and their asinine accusations that initially drew my attention to her.

But tell me, has she done anything as reprehensible as lying about her eligibility to get elected, about her religion, trafficking influence, taking or giving bribes, violating the Constitution, her links with radical groups hating America, etc..? Nixon got impeached for much less than that, but no matter, we are supposed to keep mum on these violations and concentrate on Mrs. Palin non-existing cosmetic surgery or non existing divorce?

Come on folks, let's show a modicum of common sense and ignore the media when it comes to Sarah Palin - come to think of it, better ignore them altogether, they take us for mentally retarded (OK, they have an excuse) and they lie through their teeth all the time.

Anonymous, a hat in the air to you! And her records are all public, unlike the bonehead who is currently residing at our house.
