Everything old is new again: Old video of Van Jones bashing America on 9/12/01

Gateway Pundit links to a story on Big Government about a long lost video of Van Jones. In the video Van Jones is bashing America just one day after the 9/11 terror attacks.

At a rally in Oakland on the night after the 9/11 attacks Van Jones (at about the 4:38 mark; HT to NewsBusters.org commenter Merkava) tells a far-far-left audience that ….

- “It’s the bombs that the government has been dropping around the world that are now blowing up inside the U.S. borders.”
- “We’ve got something stronger than bombs, we have solidarity. That dream of revolutionary change is stronger than bombs.”

There has been a steady rehabilitation campaign of Van Jones' image. Even New York schools using Van Jones as a role model in their human rights curriculum. After this video starts making the rounds, Van Jones will have to start back at square one on his rehabilitation campaign.

The new Van Jones loves Glenn Beck

In case you had not noticed, Van Jones is trying to whitewash his old image. In the last week or so a new kinder, gentler Van Jones is emerging. He is making appearances with Kristen Gillibrand, he got a NAACP award and even offers an excuse for his 9/11 Truther stuff.

Today the new Van Jones, took his remake to dazzling new heights and said he loves Glenn Beck! Here is what Jones said when he received his NAACP award.

So what did Glenn Beck have to say about all this? Check out this Tweet:

I am sure we will be hearing more about this from Beck on Monday. I will update this post with any response from Beck’s radio or TV show.

The question I have is, why the remake? Why is Van Jones remaking himself now? He left the White House and could easily pursue his agitation outside of the public light. Does this remake mean he is going to be taking on a very visible role in the future and thus he must clean up his act?  Time will tell.

Arianna Huffington “thanks” Glenn Beck

Normally I would never link to a Huffington Post article, but this one by Arrianna Huffington requires some attention. In her latest column, Arianna praises Van Jones. She starts off by “thanking” Glenn Beck for getting Van Jones canned.

Thank you, Glenn Beck. By helping force the resignation of Van Jones, you have done a great service to your country. But in the exact opposite way than what you intended.

Your vile and vicious smear campaign has helped reverse one of the worst examples of miscasting since John Wayne took on the role of Genghis Khan in The Conqueror.

Huffington, then goes on to praise Van Jones :

Don't get me wrong: Van Jones was the best person for the job he just gave up. But the job was not the best use of Van Jones.

Best person for the job? With unemployment at 9.7% and rising, did Van Jones create a single “green job” or a job of any color during the time he was with the White House? Since the answer is no, I would say good riddance. Our national debt is immorally high; we cannot afford to pay posers to push their radical agendas. This seems to be lost on Arianna. Then again she has her millions, so why should she care about us little people being taxed to death to pay for all these useless Czars.

Arianna does do us a favor and reminds us something that we may have all forgotten after hearing about Jones’ resignation:

Now, thanks to Glenn Beck, we've got that voice back. No longer tied to his desk with a sock in his mouth, Van is now freed to do what he does best: inspire and energize groups around the country. Student groups and labor groups and small business groups and middle class Americans everywhere who are losing jobs and losing homes and losing hope. He's free to push with all his might and insight for the vision tens of millions of Americans tirelessly worked for during the presidential campaign -- the vision they voted for in November -- but which is now in danger of being drowned in the fetid political swamps of Washington.

That is right, Van Jones is now free to rabble-rouse, stir the racial pot and push his conspiracy theories all over the place. If I had to guess what his first order of business would be, I would say it is to try to bring down Glenn Beck. After that, Jones will no doubt return to his radical ways and when your read about the future trouble he causes, please do not forget Arianna’s praise.

Van Jones is history

White House environmental adviser Van Jones resigned Saturday after weeks of controversy stemming from his past activism.

"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones, special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, said in a statement announcing his resignation just after midnight Saturday. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."

He continued: "I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum -- urging me to 'stay and fight.' But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future."

Wow, I he would have lasted until Monday. I guess that second 9/11 Truther statement and his racist music album was way too much proof that he was a crackpot. Just reading his latest statement, one has to wonder if Van Jones really does have a connection to reality.

"They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide." Ugly lies? These are 9/11 conspiracy organizations that Van Jones himself signed on to. There are videos all over YouTube showing Van Jones in his own words, calling Republicans a**holes, talking smack about white people and on and on.

"I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum -- urging me to 'stay and fight.” This is pure fantasy. I am sure that on the far left, he got much encouragement, but everybody else was like WTF?

The whole Van Jones saga could not come at a worst time for Obama. As Obama tries to find a way out of the box he is in on health care reform, this is a major distraction. It does not help in terms of credibility either, as parents across the nation are creeped out by his public school address, Van Jones' past feeds into the idea that Obama is a barking moonbat radical too. Look for comparisons between Obama, Reverend Wright and Van Jones to start surfacing again.

Glenn Beck comes out a both a big winner and somewhat of a loser. His ratings have gone through the roof and will now head for the stratosphere, as he is proven right about Van Jones. Beck’s victory comes with a price. The Raaaaacism Industrial Complex will firmly attach a bull’s-eye to Beck and that won’t go away anytime soon.

Valerie Jarrett and the Czars are now under the microscope. Valerie Jarrett’s ringing endorsement of Van Jones will lead to questions about what she knew and when she knew. People are going to want to know who the hell these Czars are and what are they doing. If I had to guess, I would say Science Czar John Holdren is going to be the next notch on Glenn Beck’s belt. Holdren's ideas of forced abortions and sterilizing the population is just the type of stuff that focuses people’s attention.

Color of Change is probably the biggest loser in all of this. In their boycott of Glenn Beck failed to get him kicked off the air, instead it turbo charged him and got their founder Van Jones fired. Something tells me that instead of dropping their failed efforts, they are going to try to double down.

Finally count Fox News and rightwing bloggers as winners for doing the MSM’s job. Fox News gains tons of new viewers thanks to the Beck boycott and still retained much of their advertisers.

Van Jones 9/11 Truther: Oops, he did it again!

In response to having his name and organization found on a 9/11 Truther petition from 2004, Van Jones issued this denial yesterday:

the petition that was circulated today, I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever."

Jones’ statement sounded implausible then, because the 9/11 Truther organization stands by the fact that they verified everyone on the list. Today, Jones’ statement sounds even more implausible because, he was also involved in 9/11 Truther stuff in 2002!

From Gateway Pundit we learn that Van Jones was on the Organizing Committee of a San Francisco march to demand a Congressional inquiry into 9/11.

While it seems that the Mainstream Media is completely ignoring this story, the Internet, talk radio and cable news is not. Neither is the White House, when White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs was pressed on the issue of Van Jones, Gibbs could only say that Jones is working with the White House, but could not say that Obama had his confidence. In other words, Obama is putting gas in the bus and Van Jones will soon have a lovely set of tire tracks on his butt.

On my last post about Van Jones, a commenter, by the name of DaMav, left a great comment:

“ And by the way... where are the "green jobs" this guy is supposed to be creating? If he's not gone by Monday I'd love to know what he's been doing for the past six months. " -- DaMav

In light of unemployment hitting a new high today, I think this is the perfect question to ask to old Gibbsy once the Obama Bus is done working its magic on Van Jones.

Van Jones: I am not a 9/11 Truther, I just play one on TV

As you all know by now from either Gateway Pundit or Glenn Beck’s show, that Van Jones is a 9/11 Truther. He signed on to the wacko 9/11 conspiracy theory organization 911Truther.org. He joins such mental midgets like Ed Asner and our favorite race baiter Jeanane Garofalo.

Van Jones has finally issued a statement.

In a statement issued Thursday evening Jones said of "the petition that was circulated today, I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever."

He did not explain how his name came to be on the petition.

"My work at the Council on Environmental Quality is entirely focused on one goal: building clean energy incentives which create 21st century jobs that improve energy efficiency and use renewable resources," Jones said in his statement tonight.

Jones also said in his statement that "In recent days some in the news media have reported on past statements I made before I joined the administration – some of which were made years ago. If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize."

That is all well and good for Comrade Jones, but what the hell is his name and organization doing on the list, especially when 911Truth.org says that they verified everyone on the list?

Mike Berger, a spokesman for 911Truth.org, told the Washington Times over the phone that all of the signers had been verified by their group. He said 9/11Truth.org board members “spoke with each person on the list by phone or through email to individually confirm they have added their name to that list.”

“I think in most cases they spoke to them personally,” he added. “No one’s name was put on that list without them knowing it.”

Comrade Jones needs to explain to us all how did his name get on a verified list if he does not agree with the statement now or ever?

If I had to venture a guess, I would say Van Jones did sign on to the 911Truther.org statement not because he really believed it, but because he is a rabble-rouser. As a rabble-rouser, anything to stick a finger in Bush’s eye was fine by him. It is this rabble-rouser mentality that probably made him set his organization Color of Change on Beck without thinking there might be repercussions.

Furthermore, I don’t believe Van Jones gives two shits about Green Jobs or Green anything else. I think he is just using all that green stuff as the vehicle to bring about all his tired sixties radical social justice bullshit beliefs.

Many are saying that Van Jones will be gone by Monday. OK, then the clock is ticking.
