The Climate Change Hoax

As some of you no doubt heard, hacker broke into the computers of the worlds foremost climate change research center [Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia in Britain] and posted some 1,000 emails and 3, 000 documents on the Internet. What was so surprising was that the stolen information reveals what many have always suspected…man caused global warming (climate change) is a big fat hoax. Worse yet the emails reveal a conceded effort to discredit and intimidate climate change skeptics. Details of the deception can be found here.

I think this is probably the best thing that could have ever happen. While I in no way support hacking, this hack may just prove to be the end to man made global warming. Poll after poll shows that many Americans have grown skeptical of global warming to begin with (and why not, the whole concept stinks of junk science), this is bound to accelerate skepticism. What is most promising is these emails and documents may make passing Cap and Trade near impossible (I won’t be the farm on that, given Washington’s new found deafness).

Already scientists at the Climatic Research Unit are trying to cover their asses.

Michael E. Mann, who directs the Earth System Science Center at Pennsylvania State University, said in a telephone interview from Paris that skeptics are "taking these words totally out of context to make something trivial appear nefarious."


In one e-mail from 1999, the center's director, Phil Jones, alludes to one of Mann's articles in the journal Nature and writes, "I've just completed Mike's Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (i.e., from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith's to hide the decline."


Mann said the "trick" Jones referred to was placing a chart of proxy temperature records, which ended in 1980, next to a line showing the temperature record collected by instruments from that time onward. "It's hardly anything you would call a trick," Mann said, adding that both charts were differentiated and clearly marked.

Oh there is a trick alright. The trick is that these bozos are trying to pull a fast one on the entire world and they got caught with their pants down.

Whoring For Healthcare: Landrieu sells her vote for $300 million not $100 million

Well Harry Reid got his 60 votes to begin the senate debate on healthcare reform.  His little pimping tactic to get Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu to go along has turned out to cost taxpayers more than originally reported.

To help secure her vote, Reid also included a provision in the bill sought by Landrieu to provide increased Medicaid funds for states recovering from major disasters such as 2005’s Hurricane Katrina that devastated New Orleans and parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

Landrieu defended the inclusion of the provision and said Republican critics who accuse her of selling her vote for $100 million are wrong and that she has the support of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.


“I will correct something. It’s not $100 million, it’s $300 million, and I’m proud of it and will keep fighting for it,” Landrieu told reporters after her floor speech. “But that is not why I started this health care debate; I started this health care debate for all the reasons I just mentioned in my statement” on the floor.

Landrieu can color her words anyway she likes, but the truth of the matter is she sold her vote. While the price between Landrieu and a two-dollar whore is $299,999,998 the act is exactly the same.


Landrieu went on further to say that her vote for starting debate is not an indication of how she will vote for the final bill:

 In her remarks, Landrieu explained her decision by saying that her vote “should in no way be construed ... as an indication of how I might vote as this debate comes to an end.” 

What we can construe is that if the price is right, Landrieu will “perform” as told.  These lawmakers and their wheeling and dealings with OUR tax dollars really make me ill.

Burkha Barbie? Say What?

One of the world's most famous children's toys, Barbie, has been given a makeover  - wearing a burkha.

Wearing the traditional Islamic dress, the iconic doll is going undercover for a charity auction in connection with Sotheby's for Save The Children.

More than 500 Barbies went on show yesterday at the Salone dei Cinquecento, in Florence, Italy.

Mattel, the maker of Barbie is all on board for Burka Barbie.  

The company director of Laird Assessors from The Wirral, Cheshire, said: 'Bring it on Burkha Barbie, I think this is a great idea.

'I think this is really important for girls, wherever they are from they should have the opportunity to play with a Barbie that they feel represents them.

 'I know Barbie was something seen as bad before as an image for girls, but in actual fact the message with Barbie for women is you can be whatever you want to be.

Really? Women want to be subjugated, who knew. [sarcasm off]

Glenn Beck unveils his "100 Year Plan”

Over the last few days Glenn Beck has been talking about a plan he has developed to help bring America back to his original ideals of freedom and independence.   See video below:

Today Beck gave an outline of what The Plan entails at a rally in The Villages.  Below is Beck’s introduction to his 100 year Plan.

Friends,

What an amazing few days on the road this has been. Your spirits have been high, your faith strong and your spine unbendable. I ended my multiday book tour at The Villages with what had been billed as a rally but could be better described as a candid citizen-to-citizen chat.

Today, I have stopped looking for a leader to show us the way out because I have come to realize that the only one who can truly save our country...is us. To change America's course we need to change ourselves, our expectations and our willingness to accept the unacceptable. When we refuse to allow our children to receive a trophy for participation, we are on the road to restoring the meaning of merit in our Republic. When we insist that no one is too big to fail, we will be able to learn from our mistakes, and when we demand that we are self-reliant, we will ensure that others can rely on us, not the government.

There is much to do, much to learn and time is of the essence. While I will be explaining the entire Plan over the coming weeks and months, I did want to give you a preview of some of the highlights:

- Education is key, and not just for our children. To that end, we will be conducting a series of conventions. These will be full-day experiences where you will be immersed in learning about topics ranging from self-reliance, community organizing, the economy and how to be a political force in your own neighborhood and country. The first one will be in Orlando at UCF Arena on March 27th. You will also be able to vote to have a convention in your region by clicking here.

- I have begun meeting with some of the best minds in the country that believe in limited government, maximum freedom and the values of our Founders. I am developing a 100 year plan. I know that the bipartisan corruption in Washington that has brought us to this brink and it will not be defeated easily. It will require unconventional thinking and a radical plan to restore our nation to the maximum freedoms we were supposed to have been protecting, using only the battlefield of ideas.

- All of the above will culminate in The Plan, a book that will provide specific policies, principles and, most importantly, action steps that each of us can take to play a role in this Refounding.

- On August 28, 2010, I ask you, your family and neighbors to join me at the feet of Abraham Lincoln on the National Mall for the unveiling of The Plan and the birthday of a new national movement to restore our great country.

What is interesting to note is the date and location Beck chose. August 28^th at Lincoln Memorial is the same date and location that Martin Luther King gave his legendary I Have A Dream speech.  Beck’s plan will probably rely heavily on King’s ideals of freedom and equality, although I am quite sure that those on the left will spin it quite differently.

Senator Blance Lincoln to be Reid's 60th vote

Senator Blanche Lincoln has said she will be the deciding vote to move the senate healthcare bill forward to debate.  The vote is scheduled to take place tonight at 8 PM (more thief in the night maneuvers).

From Politico:

Sen. Blanche Lincoln is a yes for debating health reform, but a no for the public option, and she and fellow centrists are making clear they expect Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to scrap his current plan for a government-run insurance program.

Lincoln (D-Ark.) announced Saturday that she’d deliver the deciding vote to push forward with a sweeping health reform plan, ending days of speculation over whether President Barack Obama’s signature priority would proceed to the Senate floor or suffer a debilitating blow.

But Lincoln and fellow moderate Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) also laid down strong objections to the public health insurance plan included in the Senate bill – saying they couldn’t support the bill if it came to the floor in that form.

“I am opposed to a new government administered public health care plan as a part of comprehensive health care reform, and I will not vote in favor of the proposal that has been introduced by Leader Reid as it is written,” Lincoln said.

This is what I don’t understand. If Lincoln has so many reservations against the current bill and has absolutes that she will not compromise on, knowing that some of those issues are a must have for the more liberal House Democrats, then why doesn’t she just vote NO and send the current monstrosity to an early grave?

It is this complete lack of political courage from both parties that has led America to the brink.  Quite frankly, I think it is high time we all start considering what can be done to resist if not fully scuttle healthcare reform should it pass.  I say this because now that debate of the bill will happen, Democrats will pull out all the stops to make sure something passes and so long as that something gives government greater control, they will be all for it.

ACORN Prostitution Scandal: The LA Edition Part II

Once again more from the helpful folks at ACORN. 

It appears that Brieitbart is sitting on even more ACORN tapes. Recently on the Sean Hannity show Andre Breitbart laid down the gauntlet to Eric Holder and said investigate ACORN or he will release more tapes just before the 2010 elections. I wonder if any of those tapes spell out voter fraud?

Slip Sliding Away: Gallup Has Obama At 49%

Is anyone really surprised?

PRINCETON, NJ -- The latest Gallup Daily tracking results show 49% of Americans approving of the job Barack Obama is doing as president, putting him below the majority approval level for the first time in his presidency.

Although the current decline below 50% has symbolic significance, most of the recent decline in support for Obama occurred in July and August. He began July at 60% approval. The ongoing, contentious debate over national healthcare reform has likely served as a drag on his public support, as have continuing economic problems. Americans are also concerned about the Obama administration's reliance on government spending to solve the nation's problems and the growing federal budget deficit. Since September, Obama's approval rating had been holding in the low 50s and, although it has reached 50% numerous times, it had never dropped below 50% until now. MORE

What Obama needs is an actual accomplishment and one that the people actually want (i.e. lower the deficit, create some REAL jobs, etc.)  I don’t see that on the horizon. We have the $18 million Recovery.gov looking like really expensive way to lie to the American people, Eric Holder sounding like a second rate law clerk explaining his actions to try KSM in NY, health care reform looking more and more like a big fat tax scheme and Obama dithering his head off with Afghanistan. The nation seems rudderless.  If things keep up like this Obama will have worse numbers than Bush.

Senator Giuliani?

The New York Daily News is reporting that there is a good chance that former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani may seek Hillary Clinton’s old NY Senate seat in 2010 now that he had decided against running for New York’s Governor.

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani has decided against running for governor, but is strongly considering running for U.S. Senate instead, sources told the Daily News.

The Republican heavyweight was considered the GOP's best shot at reclaiming the governor's mansion. The only declared candidate on the Republican side is little-known former Long Island Rep. Rick Lazio.

 One source said Giuliani is prepared to run for U.S. Senate against Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand next year to fill out the remaining two years of Hillary Clinton's term. 

In a match up with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Rudy comes out on top by a whopping 14 points with about a third of Democrats saying they would vote for him.

I don’t know about this. Rudy is a RINO and the winds are changing against them.  However in a very blue state like New York that may not make a difference.

I wanted to vote for Rudy in the ’08 primaries, he was my second choice behind Fred Thompson. While Rudy was a RINO then too, I know he is a fiscal conservative and a strong chief executive.  I lived in NYC during his days as mayor and the turn around was stunning.

Today, I am not so sure I could support him. America is going to be on the brink in 2010. Can we afford to take a chance? What if he abandons his fiscal conservatism at the worst possible time?  If this was still ’08 and the Dems had not brought America to the brink of disaster I would feel very comfortable taking the chance, today not so much. The big question is will most New York conservatives feel the same way I do next year? Time will tell.
