Can I have some of what David Broder is smoking?

David Broder what written what has to be the most bizarre column I have ever read. In it he praises Janet Napolitano’s handling of the Underpants Bomber.  Seriously, I am not kidding you. Check out this hot mess:
Most Americans got their first prolonged look at Janet Napolitano, the secretary of homeland security, last weekend. After a passenger on a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam ignited a concealed fuse as the plane approached Detroit for a landing, apparently intending to blow it up and kill all aboard, it fell to Napolitano to take charge of the federal response.
It came as no surprise to anyone who knows her that Napolitano handled the incident and its aftermath with aplomb. In the years I have known her, she has managed every challenge that has come her way with the same calm command that she showed in this instance. If there is anyone in the administration who embodies President Obama's preference for quiet competence with "no drama," it is Janet Napolitano.
I watched as she made the rounds of the morning interview programs on Sunday, laying out what she knew about the would-be terrorist and carefully refusing to speculate about the many matters that were still being investigated. She is being criticized for saying "the system worked," but her part of the response system did work.
Talk about putting a positive spin on bad news. Broder goes on and on extolling the virtues of Napolitano. Who does this man think he is fooling with utter BS like this? I mean come on, “her part of the response system did work”? This is only true if Homeland Security is about cleaning up after “man caused disasters” rather than trying to preventing them.

David Broder, please step away from the keyboard and put down those funny smelling cigarettes!  It’s a new year and we are in no mood for rewrites of last year’s screw-ups!

The fact that J-No deemed terrorist acts "man caused disasters" made her a joke from the get-go and she should've been canned then for setting such a blatantly ignorant tone for the DHHS and the nation. Then you have some clown like this "praising" her flip flops on the "system worked, it didn't work" - geez, this woman doesn't know if she's comin' or goin'. As for THIS clown, he's DEF smoking funny sticks and drinking COPIOUS amounts of the delusional kool-aid. The force is strong with this one. Look at him - he looks BAKED!

I was amazed at Broder's alternative take on reality when I read this. Does he really believe this?

OT but I put you in my FMJRA and shout outs post today (http://my-thoughts-on-freedom.blogspot.com/2010/01/new-year-fmjra-and-shout-outs.html). I think you have a great blog here. Keep up the good work.

Well, it has now come out that it didn't work at all. Her original statement was that once it was known it all worked well. No domestic pilot was informed of the arrest until after they landed. TSA only notified pilots of incoming international flights. This is unacceptable. The system didn't work on any level.

"Apparently" trying to blow it up. If you light explosives on a plane when you are sitting over the engines, it is pretty safe to say that he was trying to blow it up. It wasn't an attempted terrorist attack, it was a failed terrorist attack. This wording speaks volumes.
