Arlen Specter to Obama Administration: I need a job

Arlen Specter, the poster child of self-serving politicians, is once again looking out for his bacon rather than his constituents. 

Jake Tapper: Sources tell ABC News that Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pennsylvania, has informed the White House that he would like to consider remaining in public service after his Senate term ends at the end of this session, and White House officials are keeping an open mind about possible job openings for him. […]

Sources said the job discussions are far from anything other than preliminary, and were not part of any "deal" when Specter switched parties and began supporting President Obama's agenda in earnest.

Neither the White House nor Specter had any comment.

Talk of such a job, however, has raised eyebrows among Specter’s Republican Senate colleagues, who are now eyeing his votes with added scrutiny. For instance, Specter seemed not particularly impressed with Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan, whose nomination as solicitor general Specter opposed last year. This week, he announced support for her Supreme Court nomination.

I am sorry, but there is only one word to describe Arlen Specter and it is “whore”. One would think that after the Sestak quid pro quo both Specter and the administration would know better than to entertain such a notion.

Specter’s request does make you wonder about his sudden turnaround on the Kegan nomination. Was this Specter showing the administration he is willing to play ball or is this payment for a job already promised?  Things that make you go hummm.

Self-Serving Arlen Specter Loses PA Primary

The self-serving Arlen Specter has loss Pennsylvania’s Democratic Senate primary to Joe Sestak. Specter was defeated by Sestak 54-46. I cannot understand how Specter did not lose by an even wider margin. This is a man who openly admitted he was switching parties to improve his chances for reelection. Why would any Democrat believe he truly espoused their beliefs?

Like a typical loser, Arlen Specter directed some sour grapes towards the Tea Party.  He was on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell saying that the Tea Party must be beaten! 

“If we’re not careful, if you don’t field the strongest candidate — frankly, like Arlen Specter — they’re going to take over,” Specter said of the tea parties. “Beating the tea party gang is more important than who does the beating.”

“They want to go back to the gold standard,” he added. “It’d be an 18th-century America.”

Yeah, Arlen whatever. Enjoy the unemployment line you self-serving SOB. Hopefully Charlie Crist will follow in Specter’s footsteps and Marco Rubio is already trying to make that happen.
 

Specter’s loss also marks the fourth time Obama’s support has ended in failure.  If I were Barbara Boxer, I would be telling Obama, no more campaigning for me, I’m good!

Arlen Specter is not just rude to the ladies

Arlen Specter really needs a few lessons with Emily Post his manners are atrocious! Coming right on the heels of rudely telling Michele Bachmann to act like a lady, Specter now rudely interrupts his Democratic primary rival Joe Sestak during closing remarks at a Pennsylvania Progressive forum.

Perhaps Arlen is forgetting his manners because he cannot take his mind of the fact that he is going to lose in 2010.

Political wimp Arlen Specter tells Michele Bachmann to “act like a lady”

The thought of going down in flames must be too much for Arlen Specter perhaps that is why he was so crotchety today.

Glenn Thrush over at Politico states the obvious: 

Bachmann is hardly a beloved figure in Democratic circles. But how many liberal women, whom Specter badly needs to defeat front-running Pat Toomey, would appreciate being told to "act like a lady" by a male debate partner? 

If anyone should act like a lady, it is Specter himself, because politically speaking the man has no balls. Michele Bachmann has a bigger set than he does. She doesn’t flip flop on issues and she certainly doesn’t worry about what the politically proper thing to do is.

Town Halls or Town Howls?

First up we have that sensational video of Kathleen Sebelius and Arlen Specter getting rip new ones. Listen to the crowd's anger when opportunist turncoat Specter says "we do this fast", referring to 1,000+ page bills.

Next we have Lloyd Doggett, completely surrounded by his constituents in Austin, Texas.

Finally we have Tim Bishop from Setauket, New York finding out that his BS talking points are no match for a well informed electorate. If I am not mistaken Bishop was kind of arrogant and had said he was going to cancel his Town Halls because no one wanted to listen to him. Memo to Mr. Bishop: it is about listening to US!!!!!!!

Good bye Arlen Specter, you self serving SOB!

Arlen Specter has been a thorn in the GOP’s side for decades. Constantly voting against conservative interests. He voted with the Dems on some key issues, Stem Cell Research, extending the Bush tax cuts, guest worker programs for illegals, just to name a few. However his vote for the Porkulus Plan, put his RINO head on the chopping block with the GOP base.

Like any good self serving elitist, Specter officially changed parties to save his own ass. He knew Toomey was going to clean his clock and clean it good! Despite all Specter’s nonsense about the Republican Party leaving him,blah, blah, blah, the real reason he switched parties was to save his own self serving ass! I was floor that he admitted it too:

“I am not prepared to have my 29 year record in the United States Senate decided by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate”

What an arrogant bastard! Who the hell did he think helped to get him there in the first place?

Specter foolishly thinks that he can stick his finger in the Democrats eyes like he repeatedly did to the Republicans.

“I will not be an automatic 60th vote”

Good luck with that! The first time he lets the Democrats down on an important piece of legislation, MoveOn,org will be on him like white on rice. If there is one thing the Democrats don’t do, it is to waste time and money on turncoats and non party players. Look at Joe Lieberman, supported the war in Iraq and the Dems cut him loose. Watch, come 2010, they will all get behind a real Democrat no matter what they promise him today.

Now is the time for Republicans to finally clean house. One more Republican here or there is not going make a difference now. So, now is the time for Mr. Steel to cut funding to wishy washy unreliables like McCain, Snow, Collins, Graham and Hagel. If these guys want to play independent, let them finance their campaigns independently. In other words, put their money where their mouth is!

I will make it my business to make sure Specter is out of the Senate come 2010. I will support Toomey with cash and make calls if I can. I will even send money to any Democrat that challenges Specter. One way or another, I want to see this self serving RINO bastard sent out to pasture once and for all!
