Things that make you go humm: The Clintons sound like unhappy campers

Have you all noticed the Clintons lately? It looks like they have started reading a different script from Obama. First there were grumblings from Bill about how ridiculous delays in drilling for our own oil is. Then Bill came out strongly for a No Fly Zone in Libya. Neither of these positions match the party line of dithering on both.

Hillary was next to sing a discordant note when she firmly shut the door on a second term in the Obama administration.

Now today we hear about Hillary being "[f]ed up with a president “who can’t make his mind up”".

Fed up with a president “who can’t make his mind up” as Libyan rebels are on the brink of defeat, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is looking to the exits.

At the tail end of her mission to bolster the Libyan opposition, which has suffered days of losses to Col. Moammar Gadhafi’s forces, Clinton announced that she’s done with Obama after 2012 — even if he wins again.

“Obviously, she’s not happy with dealing with a president who can’t decide if today is Tuesday or Wednesday, who can’t make his mind up,” a Clinton insider told The Daily. “She’s exhausted, tired.” [MORE]

I could easily see the Clintons being upset for more reasons. Hillary lost her best chance at POTUS to a man who may very well end up keeping Democrats out of the White House for decades. Worse yet, Hillary is now forever tied to one of the most ineffective foreign policies in American history.

Since it is pretty obvious that Hill and Bill are heading for the door, the question is just how loudly are they going to slam it on the way out? Hummm?

Back to the Future, the Presidential Edition

I have said it many times before, Image Counts!  I just cannot believe how badly this administration handles optics.  During the campaign, they were so slick with optics and now it is Amateur Night at the Apollo.

Turning over a presser to a limelight loving ham like Bill Clinton is just plain foolish, but when that the limelight loving ham is VERY good at stealing the show, it becomes a first class brain dead maneuver.  I think the worst part of the episode had to be Obama’s excuse for leaving. He needed to attend Christmas Parties with Michelle, seriously?  It would have been far better to say something like; he had a meeting with Republicans, Ben Bernanke, a foreign dignitary or anything that sounded he was doing important work for the people.

Also did you notice how Bill Clinton did not even waste five seconds sending Obama on his way? It was almost like Obama was merely Clinton’s errand boy and not the POTUS.  I think this presser is going to be Obama’s Pet Goat moment.

Drive By Bloggin’

Sorry folks for the limited content over the last few days. Unfortunately, I had to make some very serious deadlines in Real Time.  During the last few days there were several stories I wanted to comment on, but my Real Time obligations kept we away. So, stealing a page from our Lame-Stream Media with their drive by reporting, I am going to do a little drive by bloggin’

White House Used Bill Clinton to Ask Sestak to Drop Out of Race

I still cannot believe what a political blunder this White House/ Sestak job offer is. This administration is all about the political, yet they so easily stepped into such a political mess. I have two thoughts about why this happened. First, I think they allowed the Chicago Way to over take political sensibilities. Second, I think Obama and the gang let their Chicago habits take over, because they have grown too confident in the media’s willingness to cover for them.

Given how the media is feeling a little ignored by Obama and their willingness to show some anger over the BP oil spill, counting on the media at this point maybe a little risky.

What is truly risky is involving Bill Clinton in this mess. The media despite their bad feelings, will try to push this story off the national headlines and allow it to only exist in the Pennsylvania race. Pat Toomey will no doubt keep this scandal alive in his race against Sestak. Bill Clinton, being an ex president, does have the ability to drag this story back to national headlines at anytime, simply by dropping a comment here or there. If the Clintons are still smarting from their loss to Obama, what better way to pay him back than to keep this story alive with a leak or two?

Parish official: BP shipped in workers for president's visit

Is this BP covering their ass before Obama arrived or is this BP helping Obama get that perfect photo-op?  I think the media may want to take Sarah Palin’s advice and looking into those BP donations to the Obama campaign. 

Given how terribly wrong this whole spill is going, it is high time we start figuring out who exactly is working for whom?

Joe McGinniss talks about why he moved in next to Sarah Palin

Both my BS Detector and my Hypocrisy Proximity Alarm both went off with this story. Only the most severe PDS sufferer could buy any of McGinniss’ nonsense. 

Washington Post: When a source told Joe McGinniss that he could rent the house next to Sarah Palin's Wasilla, Alaska, home, the author was sold.

A room at the Best Western, not far away, would have been prohibitively expensive. The landlord of this house, meanwhile, offered it to McGinniss for $1,500 per month after a friend of the author recommended him as a solid alternative to the other people asking about the property.

"She was talking to this mutual friend of ours and said, 'I've got to find someone we're comfortable with,' " McGinniss said Friday evening from the deck of the house -- a deck that became famous after Palin posted a photo of it on Facebook this week. " 'My biggest concern is the Palins' privacy, especially the children.' So this mutual friend said, 'Well, you know, I think you're in luck. Joe McGinniss is going to be coming back here, and you couldn't find a better guy, just the right sort of person to move in and guarantee their privacy.'"

What happened next, said McGinniss, came as a total surprise. He had planned to keep the news off the Internet and tell the Palins himself that he'd be their neighbor as he wrapped up his biography of the former governor.

Riiiiight. We are supposed to believe that old Joe is all innocent and everything.  Meanwhile the creep is really good friends will all of the creepy anti-Palin Alaskan bloggers. 

The Other McCain:  Remember Jesse Griffin, who masqueraded behind the “Gryphen” pseudonym as a vicious anti-Palin blogger and Trig-Truther? And remember how he lost his job at an Alaska elementary school after his identity was revealed and school officials learned how he’d beenpromoting pornography and masturbation on his blog (extreme language warning) while being paid by taxpayers to supervise young children?

Well, guess what? Joe McGinnis is a “huge fan” of Jesse Griffin, as confirmed by none other than . . . Jesse Griffin:

I found the table that our host Phil Munger had reserved for us and sat down with some of his other guests, who I did not know, but who turned out to be fans of both IM and Mudflats. (Oh did I mention that AKM was with me?)

Soon I was introduced to author Joe McGinniss, who is up here researching HIS Sarah Palin book, and who also turned out to be a huge fan of both AKM’s and I. (I swear I will NEVER get used to hearing that.)

In case you didn’t get the reference, “IM” is Jesse’s “Immoral Minority” blog where he described his ironclad certainty that Sarah Palin’s fifth child “was not conceived in her uterus,” declared how much fun it is to “wank off” to amateur porn, advised youngsters that “your penis will respond more readily” if you practice by “watching porn on your computer.” and told the world that “it brings me joy to work with these children.”

When this porn-blogging Trig-Truther obsessive Palin-hater was forced to resign from Trailside Elementary School in Anchorage  in August 2009, it wasn’t exactly a secret. so why — two months later, in October 2009 – was Joe McGinniss raving about being a “huge fan” of Jesse Griffin’s Immoral Minority blog? Why is McGinniss laughing it up with Griffin at the “celebrity table” all night?

Bush wipes his hands on Clinton’s shirt

From Mediaite: Former President’s George W. Bush and Bill Clinton made their first joint visit to Haiti this week, touring and helping out in Port-au-Prince, the Haitian capital city devastated by the January earthquake.

It’s an admirable visit, but something else happened while down in Haiti – it appears Bush wiped his hand on Clinton’s shirt. Let’s go to the videotape! 

Oh boy! I watched this video like four times and my reaction is still the same, this looks bad but is kind of funny too.  I see three ways to interpret it.

Interpretation 1: A white conservative president wipes his hand after shaking a few black hands, 95% of liberals are going say it’s proof that Bush is a racist.

Interpretation 2: Bush really did get something on his hand after a handshake and slyly wiped his hand on his predecessor’s shirt. It is rascally behavior but looks kind of petty too. Note: I remember reading somewhere that Dubya might have germaphobia. If true, it would explain why Bush did not wipe his hands on his own clothes.

 

Interpretation 3: We are all reading too much into the video. Maybe Bush just lazily patted to Clinton’s shoulder.

Bill Clinton plans Tea Party smear campaign

Big Government has a very important story out today about Bill Clinton and his old cronies cooking up a smear campaign designed to disrupt the Tea Party movement.

From Big Government:

When tea party, 9/12 and townhall protests and rallies first erupted on the national scene, they were derided by national politicos as astroturf or a small fringe movement. Lefty journalists at MSNBC, CNN and elsewhere laughed away the movement with derogatory, pornographic references.

Then, Scott Brown won election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts. No one is laughing anymore. In fact, Democrats are facing political annihilation this November. Not only do Democrats face the possibility of losing their congressional majorities, massive losses in state house races could jeopardize redistricting next year and set back the progressive agenda for at least a decade.

So, the Clinton Empire is planning to strike back.

Big Government has learned that Clintonistas are plotting a “push/pull” strategy. They plan to identify 7-8 national figures active in the tea party movement and engage in deep opposition research on them. If possible, they will identify one or two they can perhaps ‘turn’, either with money or threats, to create a mole in the movement. The others will be subjected to a full-on smear campaign. (Has MSNBC already been notified?)

Big Government has also learned that James Carville will head up the effort.

The article goes on to state that this smear campaign is not for the benefit of saving Obama or his agenda. Rather the smear campaign is designed to rescue the progressive agenda.

The Tea Party has the ability to realign politics make big government socialism forever passé.  Should the idea of smaller government and Constitutional adherence take hold, what exactly would be left for the left?

I am not sure whom Clinton will try to target seeing that the Tea Party is neither an organized party nor a movement with a leader.  If Clinton tries to target individual Tea Party leaders, I don’t know what good that would do when the followers are devoted to principles rather than people.

I do expect this smear campaign will yield tons of negative Tea Party stories in the media and some new Palin smears thrown in for good measure. Again I am not sure what good that will do either since it is the policies in Washington that is truly driving the people.

Anyway I look at it, a smear campaign against the Tea Party will only generate more hate for the Democratic Party and that is the last thing they need right now.

UPDATED: Bill Clinton Hospitalized in NY for heart condition

This is just breaking on Drudge. From ABC News: 

 Former President Bill Clinton was rushed to a Manhattan hospital late this afternoon, sources tell ABC News.

Clinton, 63, was transported to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan for a condition related to his heart.

ABC News' chief political correspondent George Stephanopoulos reported that sources said he was taken to the hospital "likely for a stent procedure."

Sources on Capital Hill tell ABC News that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was seen leaving the Oval Office a short time ago and did not seem "too concerned" or "in a rush."

Clinton underwent quadruple bypass surgery at the same hospital where he is now a patient four and a half years ago.

I am not a fan of Bill Clinton’s politics, I am grateful that it doesn’t appear to be serious.  I do wonder if Hillary will use this as an excuse to jump the listing ship of the U.S.S. Hope and Change?

UPDATE: Bill Clinton gets two stents

The former president’s counselor Douglas Band released a statement saying that Clinton is in “good spirits.”

“Today President Bill Clinton was admitted to the Columbia Campus of New York Presbyterian Hospital after feeling discomfort in his chest,” said Band. “Following a visit to his cardiologist, he underwent a procedure to place two stents in one of his coronary arteries.”

A stent is a wire mesh tube used to prop open an artery.

Al Sharpton notes Bill Clinton’s racist comment, but is still ready to give a pass

Last night on Hannity, Al Sharpton was mixing it up with Al Coulter and Hannity [video here].  They were discussing Dingy Harry’s “light-skinned, no Negro dialect” comment and Sharpton actually made note of Bill Clinton’s racist comment which has been largely ignored by everyone.

In the book Game Change, Bill Clinton [America’s first “Black President”] said "A few years ago, this guy (Obama) would be getting us coffee." to Ted Kennedy while discussing Obama.   On the Hannity show, Sharpton had this to say about it:

 "I think Bill Clinton said is something you ought to be dealing with. I have said, and you know I said it, that that was far more far disturbing and I think it was far more offensive [than what Reid said.]"

Hannity asked, "Was it racist?"

Sharpton responded, "If he meant that he would have been serving because he was black..."

Hannity said, "Well, what do you think he could have meant?"

Sharpton said, "Well, that's what I want to know."

Come off it Al! Ted Kennedy walked out on Bill Clinton after the comment and then supported Obama. If Kennedy could have figured it out, why is Al having so much trouble? We all know damn well if that statement came from a white conservative or white Republican, Sharpton would be on their ass just like he was with Don Imus. Because Bill Clinton is a white liberal, Al Sharpton is willing to give Bill a whole lot of wiggle room by playing naïve and will no doubt end up seeing all kinds of nuance in what Clinton said. This is the standard role for many black liberals in the Four Phases of Forgotten Racial Comments.

I do have to give Sharpton a little credit for pointing out why Reid’s statement is a bigger deal than Clintons.  Sharpton had this to say as well:

Later in the interview, Sharpton, unsolicited, said, "Why aren't you all talking about Bill Clinton? You know why? Because Bill Clinton is not in charge of the Senate. He's not the one pushing healthcare [reform]. You're taking a statement [from Reid] you know is nowhere near what Clinton is accused of saying and going after Reid for purely political reasons."

Ah, and there is the rub. This is something I have to fault Michael Steele over. Steele was clearly giving the Dems a taste of their own medicine in racial politics [and they certainly deserve it] by playing the race card and calling for Reid to step down.  However, by only calling out Reid, Steele puts the focus on political gain rather than on the double standard that the left has long employed.  If Steele had brought full attention to both comments then the focus would be on both men and we would finally be making some headway in pointing out the blatant hypocrisy of the left and race.

As things stand now, Reid will get his pass as expected and Clinton’s comment goes immediately to Phase 4 of Forgotten Racial Comments.

Uh Oh Bill is back

It's good news that Euna Lee and Laura Ling are now home safe and sound. We should all be happy that two fellow Americans are out of the clutches of that kook Kim Jung Il. In the coming days or months we will no doubt find out that the true price was for their release and how much of a hand the Obama administration had in the whole thing.

What strikes me as odd, is why would Obama allow Bill Clinton to enter the national scene at this time? Lets face it, Bill Clinton coming to the rescue of Lee and Ling is going to be big news for a while. In the next few days, everyone is going to want Bill Clinton on their shows to tell all the behind the scenes details of the rescue. If there is one thing we know about Bill, he loves the attention. Does Obama need Bill sucking up all the airtime from the health care debate and worse yet the risk of Bill taking cheap shots at the administration?

Obama had successfully sidelined the Clintons for the last seven months. Hillary was toiling away in all the unimportant places of the world and Bill was off doing God knows what. Now they are both back on the scene at a time when Obama is on the ropes. With each passing day, Obama is sinking in the eyes of the American people. From the crazy spending to asking Americans to snitch on each other. Obama is proving to be the total opposite of the image of Hope and Change he presented.

If I were a Democrat, seeing Bill now would remind me of the glory days of balanced budgets and surpluses. Clinton, like him or hate him, never risked the economy, never put forth half-baked plans or painted America as sorry place. The Democrats never had people flooding town halls with anger because of any of Clinton’s policies.

I think Obama made a big mistake not finding another way to get those women home. Letting Bill back on the big stage at this time is highly risky. As Bill makes the news circuit, surely someone is going to ask Bill for his opinion on health care, the deficit, etc. and when they do Bill will have the opportunity to further trip up Obama. Remember how “helpful” Bill was after Obama got the nomination. Get ready for the redux.
