From a Weiner to a winner: Republican Bob Turner wins Anthony Weiner’s seat

Washington Post: Businessman Bob Turner (R) defeated state Assemblyman David Weprin (D) in the special election for the House seat held by former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner (D).
Turner’s victory is regarded as an upset given the Democratic history of the 9th district, which takes in portions of Brooklyn and Queens, as well as the fact that President Obama carried the seat by 11 points in 2008.
“New Yorkers put Washington Democrats on notice that voters are losing confidence in a President whose policies assault job-creators and affront Israel,” said National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (R-Texas) in a statement after Turner’s win. [MORE]
To be honest, I was ready to chalk up this race as a loss to voter fraud. Polls showing a six point lead by Turner did not seem like enough of a lead to me to overcome New York’s legendary voter fraud.

This victory is a big fat slap in Obama’s face. It means that in the deep blue bowels of New York City, even Democrats are not finding all that Hopey Changey stuff working for them. Worse yet, Jews, a core Democrat constituency of the Democratic Party ain’t feeling the love

What this win doesn’t s spell is a lasting victory for Republicans. This district is going to be erased via redistricting in 2013 and Turner is more than likely going to be a less than reliable Republican vote in the House. He is from New York City after all.

Despite those shortcomings, I am going to do the Snoopy dance anyway.

Weinergate: Anthony Weiner resigns ... finally

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

I had a very busy day today in real time and I have just now watched the Weiner resignation. It is almost like watching something from Bizzaro World. Here is Weiner talking like he is some wounded champion who can no longer fight the good fight for the people. Please! If Weiner's top priority was his constituents and his family he never would have found the time to play Captain Hook Up on Twitter. If he was half as conscientious about his job as he claims, he never would have wasted everyone's time with all the lies and the sideshow of not resigning sooner.

I think what really happened is his wife came home and laid down the law. She probably asked him why the heck was he continuing to humiliate her by dragging this sordid saga out.

Think back to Chris Lee's fooling around on Craigslist. Basically he was doing the same thing as Weiner. However, Lee resigned ASAP and thus we can scarcely remember his name. Anthony Weiner on the other hand drew out the saga of Weinergate for almost a month. The result will be that Weiner will be a national joke for the rest of his life.

On a side note, did you check out that jeering? I loved it! Especially when that guy shouts out "bye-bye pervert". It was like a nice dose of reality in the middle of Bizzaro World. You can read more about the heckling at The Blaze.

Weinergate: Obama on Weiner "I would resign"

MSNBC: In an exclusive interview with TODAY’s Ann Curry that will air on Tuesday’s show, President Barack Obama said that if he were Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner right now, he would resign in the wake of the scandal in which Weiner admitted to sending explicit photos of himself to women online.
“I can tell you that if it was me, I would resign,’’ Obama told Curry.
Weiner has been the talk of the nation since he was caught sending lewd photos of himself to various women on multiple social media platforms, prompting the head of the Democratic National Party to call for him to step down and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi to demand an ethics committee investigation.
“When you get to the point where, because of various personal distractions, you can't serve as effectively as you need to, at the time when people are worrying about jobs, and their mortgages, and paying the bills — then you should probably step back,’’ Obama said. [MORE]
If it weren't for the fact that Joe Biden is embarrassingly stupid, I would suggest that someone in the White House tweet a pic of Obama's junk. Not that I really believe a damn word coming out of Obama's mouth, but just in case he really would resign, it might be worth a shot.

All funniness aside, I think Anthony Weiner's days are now done. Pelosi and Wasserman-Schultz have come out against Weiner (for folks who are suppose to champion women, it sure took a long time for these gals to condemn Weiner) and now Obama has too. Democrats must realize that whatever traction they may have picked up with Mediscare, it is being squandered by the Weiner Show. Come on Anthony Weiner stick around a little longer, we need ya man!

Weinergate: You get what you vote for

Photo h/t: TMZ
When Anthony Weiner first said he wasn't going to resign after confessing to his online misdeeds, I thought to myself how could anyone be that addicted to staying on the public dole. Today, after several girls have come forward, his wiener out for public display, tales of his chats with an under aged girl and his fellow Dems telling him to go, Anthony Weiner is still refusing to resign.

Weiner is now looking at getting mental help (the boy sure needs some) as a ploy to hang on (we can call this the Mark Foley excuse). I don't know if that will be enough. Like I said in previous posts the longer he stays the more juicy tidbits will keep coming out (e.g. new pictures of Weiner posing at the House gym and Bill Maher's creative reading of Weiner's sexting).

What makes Weiner think he can hang on throughout all of this?  Well, basically the reason is us. Not you and I specifically, but We The People. Over the last half century or so, Americans have allowed their moral compass to fall into disrepair.

The latest polls on Weiner's constituents shows that they are willing to keep him.  This is after knowing all the lewd comments, naked photos and bold face lying. If the folks are willing to put up with behavior like that, why shouldn't Weiner try to hang on a little longer?

I do believe that his constituents should hold his fate in their hands. If they choose to keep him after all of that, then I hope they are not ones to complain about the quality of government.  When we choose to put our partisanship above our morals or when we refuse to hold our representatives to high standards, we end up with a government that is often only concerned with their own self interests rather than ours.

Anthony Weiner's online shenanigans and his boldface lying about it, had zero to do with looking out for his constituents.  His constituents were not even on his radar even though Weiner was hired and paid handsomely solely for the purpose of representing them. Weiner's desperation to stay in Congress also has nothing to do with representing his constituents and everything with his own self interest.  If Weiner's constituents cannot see this, then they deserve Weiner as their representative.

UPDATE: The light bulb comes on

As I was putting the finishing touches on this post, I notice now on Memeorandum that Weiner is considering that he may have to resign.  Well, it is about time.

Weindergate: Weiner's wiener pic and Weiner's wife is pregnant

Well, Weiner's wiener picture is now out for all the world to see. Of course this was going to happen sooner or later, especially since Weiner refuses to resign. Sadly, this probably won't be the last of the x-rated Weiner picture to emerge.

Andrew Breitbart who was suppose to be the only one who had possession of  Weiner's wiener picture, explains how it got on the net.
Big Government: Earlier today, a photograph resembling one that I had withheld from publication in the Weinergate saga was released without my knowledge or permission.
Prior to the publication of our story on BigGovernment.com and BigJournalism.com this past Monday morning, it was necessary to show the pictures I had received from our source to several news producers, including several at major news networks, to prove that the additional material I described really did exist, which some have continued to doubt.
This morning, I showed a photograph, which our source claims Weiner sent her, to radio hosts “Opie and Anthony” of the Sirius XM radio network on my mobile device. Somehow, without my knowledge or permission, apparently a picture was taken of my mobile device, and subsequently published by Opie (Gregg Hughes) on Twitter. [MORE]
Again, so long as Weiner chooses to stay in office, the drive to get all the dirty detail out will remain high.

The other little Weiner story out today is that there might actually be a baby Weiner on the way.
The New York Times: Their marriage has become the subject of intense speculation and scrutiny amid an embarrassing online sex scandal.
Now, Representative Anthony D. Weiner and Huma Abedin are about to make news of a different kind: they are expecting their first child.
Ms. Abedin, 35, is in the early stages of pregnancy, according to three people with knowledge of the situation.
The pregnancy, which the couple has disclosed to close friends and family, adds a new dimension to questions about the future of their marriage. [MORE]

New dimension? No, what this news does is that it makes Weiner a bigger lowlife than we thought he was. It is like John Edwards cheating on his cancer stricken wife. Imagine, you and your wife are expecting your first child, and instead of thinking about a new a beautiful future, you are out on Twitter tweeting your junk. Lowlife!

Weinergate - The Saga Continues: Weiner coaches porn star to lie

Anthony Weiner seems to have another fantasy. This one isn't about online hotties, instead this one is about him being able to continue as a Congressman. Yesterday when Weiner said he would not resign, I said he was kidding himself. So long as Weiner remains in office, the salacious details about what he did online will remain media gold. All the seedy details of his online action will come dripping out like Chinese Water Torture.

Consider this story about the porn star Ginger Lee the first of many drips to come.
TMZ: Weiner and former porn star Ginger Lee exchanged scores of sexual emails over a long period of time. When the underwear scandal broke on May 28, Lee began receiving calls from the media, and Weiner was more than happy to help her control the situation ... by lying.
On June 2, Weiner emailed Lee, "Do you need to talk to a professional PR type person to give u advice? I can have someone on my team call. [Yeah, my team is doing great. Ugh]."
It's unclear if Weiner's PR team is from his Congressional staff. If so, Weiner could run afoul of House Ethics Rules as well as the law.
Weiner put on a full court press, urging Lee to lie about their relationship. On June 1, he emailed her: "The key is to have a short, thought out statement that tackles the top line questions and then refer people back to it. Have a couple of iterations of: 'This is silly. Like so many others, I follow Rep. Weiner on Twitter. I don't know him and have never met him. He briefly followed me and sent me a dm saying thank you for the follow. That's it.'" [MORE]
This is just the first of many more to come. Radar Online already has another gal talking today. For now, Weiner's constituents may still be supportive, but with more and more stories coming out, I doubt that will last for long. Weiner's fellow Democrats are already talking ethics probe.

If I were Weiner, I would resign today. I would then take a very long vacation in some third world country until this story has had time to die down. He can use that time to figure out how to make a living in the private sector under an economy he helped to devastate.

Weinergate: The Weiner comes clean

Man was that a crazy press conference. First, Andrew Breitbart taking the podium is was unbelievable. Talk about perfect timing.

You can just feel the media's hostility towards Breitbart. They hate the fact that he once again is way out ahead of the MSM as far a breaking big stories. They also hate Breitbart because he has claimed another liberal scalp. At any rate Breitbart's part of the presser was certainly must see tv.

I was feeling sympathetic for Weiner right up until the time the dolt said, he was going to take question. Take question? What a *&^%$# moron. The absolute last thing you do in a situation like this is to take questions. It reminded me of that damn fool Mark Sanford.

The other part that lost me was the not resigning nonsense. Good grief how hard up are the lefties to stay on the public dole? Doesn't Weiner realize the jig is up? He will never be able to be the progressive attack dog he once was. The first time he tries snarking on a Republican all they have to do is call him out for being a pathetic liar and a cheat, and they will be damn right.

Furthermore, by not resigning, Weiner is inviting all those other girls to come forward for huge payday's. How much do you think the Enquirer will pay for all the nitty gritty details from any of those girls? Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Already one of these women has started to talk publicly.

Nancy Pelosi and the Dems are already making tracks away from Weiner. I guess is that sooner or later he will realize that he has to resign.

What I am waiting for and no doubt you too, is to hear from Huma Weiner. That is one beautiful woman who will have no problem finding herself a more faithful man. I wonder if she will walk?

UPDATE 2x: Weinergate bulges - Another woman and more pictures

Today is not going to be a good day for Anthony Weiner. After a disastrous week of trying to BS his way out of the pickle he created, Weiner now has to deal with new photos and messages being released by Andrew Breitbart at Big Government today.
Big Government: A new woman has come forward with what she claims are photographs, chats, and emails with Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY). These appear to undermine severely Rep. Weiner’s explanations that he was the victim of a “prank” or a “hack.”
The detailed new information suggests that the Brooklyn- and Queens-based representative and the young woman in question were involved in an online, consensual relationship involving the mutual exchange of intimate photographs.
BigGovernment.com and BigJournalism.com were approached regarding this information more than a week prior to the separate, independent event of Friday, May 27, 2011, when a link to the now-infamous “gray underwear” photograph appeared publicly on Rep. Weiner’s Twitter feed.
We will be updating BigGovernment.com and BigJournalism.com throughout the day with photographs, timelines, and other clarifying details. However, we will not be releasing all of the material because some of it is of an extreme, graphic nature.
Like Chinese water torture, Brietbart is slowly releasing the photos throughout the day. Below are two of the photos already released.

You can read about the story behind each photo here and here.

I wonder how much longer before Mrs. Weiner heads for the door?

UPDATE: More photos and more women

Oh boy, I am dying to see how Weiner tries to lie his way out of this one.  The latest pictures released by Big Government shows a topless Weiner, and several thumbnails that clearly show his face.

Radar Online now has another woman who says she has over 200 explicit Facebook messages from Rep. Weiner.
Radar Online: Weinergate is getting bigger and bigger.
Another woman has come forward to RadarOnline.com and Star magazine and provided a sexting exchange with embattled New York Representative Anthony Weiner.
The woman says she has 200 sexually explicit messages from Weiner from a Facebook account the Democratic politician no longer uses.

RadarOnline.com and Star magazine verified that the account where the messages originated does belong to Weiner (see below).
He told the woman he had a "ridiculous bulge" in his shorts and asked if she "wanna see" it -- almost three months before a photo of an erect penis in tight fitting briefs appeared in the pol’s Twitter stream.
It’s a sensational twist to the scandal plaguing the embattled New York congressman. This new woman is middle-aged and from Nevada. [MORE]

Stick a fork in this guy, because he is done. Getting caught cheating online is one thing, but telling all those big ass lies afterwards leaves Weiner little choice but to resign. If Weiner was a normal fellow, I would say he would resign before the day was out. However, given his arrogance and last week's performance, it will be interesting to see what he does next.

UPDATE 2: Now comes the press conference
Politico: Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) has scheduled a press conference for Monday at 4 p.m., presumably in response to a series of shirtless photos of the congressman posted on the conservative website BigGovernment.com this afternoon.
According to the site, the photos came from a woman who says the congressman sent them to her.
Weiner is coming off a tough week of dancing around questions about a photo of a man's crotch that appeared on his Twitter account. He maintains he didn't send the tweet, but could not say "with certitude" whether the photograph was of him.
Will he stay or will he go? Stay tuned.

Weinergate: Anthony Weiner puts himself in a pickle

I have not spent a whole lot of time following the "ups and downs" of Weinergate because from the initial facts I am fairly certain Anthony Weiner is guilty. Since the breaking of the story Weiner has done little to convince me (or many Americans for that matter) of his innocence.

Yesterday's disastrous CNN interview did a whole lot more damage than good.

If that wasn't bad enough, Weiner's inability to identify a photo of his own junk pretty much confirms his guilt.

Seriously? How can he not know if the picture is of him or not? Unless he his taking or allowing others to take endless pictures of his junk, he should be able to tell if it is him or not.

Lefty bloggers are fighting hard to save their Weiner. They even came up with a possible way a hack could be performed. However, Gateway Pundit has shown how even that hack requires prior authorization.

The bottom line is Anthony Weiner is trying to have it both ways. He knows he got caught out there Tweeting his junk to a young girl on Twitter. In his panic he reached for the easiest excuse at hand; he was hacked.

Unfortunately, Weiner forgot about the status of his job and thus did not think about the seriousness of what a hack would mean. So now he is caught between a rock and a hard place. Fess up and he will be a known liar and a cheat. Push forward with the hack excuse and he could risk committing a crime. So, Weiner tries for a third option: admit nothing and hope the whole mess dies of old age.

There is little hope that Weiner will be successful in having the whole thing go away. The media, bias as they are, loves a good sex scandal. The only way they will drop this "bone" is if a mega story breaks out. If I were Weiner I would be praying that Palin's bus tour ends with her making the big announcement, otherwise his goose is pretty much cooked.

For those of you who really want to follow this story closely, check out The Other McCain, he is all over Weinergate.

Did Anthony Weiner tweet a pic of his wiener?

Big Government: Hacked or hung?
Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY 9″) finds himself in a late night online pickle.
This evening a photo surfaced on Congressman Weiner’s yfrog account and in his verified Twittertimeline of a man in his underwear with an erection. The photo was reportedly sent to a woman on Twitter. We’ve protected her name and her account, which was at one time verified to be active but has since been deleted after the photo in question was deleted. Coincidentally, the rest of the photos in the congressman’s alleged yfrog account were also deleted around 11 p.m. eastern.[...]

Weiner, who married Hillary Clinton’s longtime assistant, Huma Abedin, last year, has been Tweeting about hockey this evening. Confusion reigns online as puzzled Weiner followers wonder what occurred to Weiner’s timeline.
The photo, stored at Weiner’s alleged yfrog account, is connected to his verified Twitter account. Were his yfrog and Twitter accounts hacked as well?
If you want to see the picture in question click here.

Anthony Weiner is a major jerk, but if he is already cheating on his new drop dead gorgeous wife, he is a brain dead major jerk. This is where all those years of being a jerk is going to come back and bite Weiner in the butt. I can hardly wait for his next match up with Megyn Kelly, she will be merciless.

Glenn Beck launches WeinerFacts.com - UPDATED Video added

The other day Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) started a new attack against Glenn Beck. The attack basically accuses Glenn Beck and his advertiser Goldline International of conspiring to rip off customers.
Politico: A Weiner aide forwards his advisory, headed, "'Goldline' Rips Off Consumers, Profits Off Public Fears, Likely Violates Federal Law."
"The company has formed an unholy alliance with conservative pundits to drive a false narrative and play off public fears in order to sell its products," says the release. Coming soon to MSNBC...
Glenn Beck answered this attack today by launching the website WeinerFacts.com. WeinerFacts is a blog that both mocks Anthony Weiner and sheds a light on his own misdeeds. For example check out this Weiner Fact:
The FEC (Federal Election Commission) had two cases (MURs, or Matters Under Review) about everybody’s favorite Weiner. Both cases have the same name, Friends of Weiner.
MUR 4995 resulted in a $47,000.00 fine (“civil penalty”) against Weiner because of financial misconduct in one of his reelection campaigns. MUR 5429 involved an illegal $28,000.00 loan that Weiner’s parents made to one of his campaign committees.
It’s really sad when friends and families of Weiner cause so much Weiner pain.
Humm, looks like Anthony Weiner might have entered a glass house situation.

If you missed tonight’s episode of the Glenn Beck show, click over to The Right Scoop later tonight.
