Alec Baldwin wants to play Congressman too

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Emmy Award winner Alec Baldwin is eyeing a post-acting career that could take him off a Hollywood soundstage into the halls of Congress.

Baldwin, who currently stars in the NBC comedy "30 Rock," told
Playboy magazine that he is seriously considering running for Congress. But he acknowledged his opponents would have plenty of fodder to use against him.

"I'll put it this way," he told the magazine. "The desire is there; that's one component. The other component is opportunity."

Oh great, just what Congress needs another person who does not live in the real world, helping to craft legislation for the rest of us. You know who I would like to see run for Congress instead of Alex Baldwin? I would like to see Balwin’s personal shopper run. Yeah, his personal shopper! You know why? Chances are really good that whomever he or she is, probably earns a paycheck just as the rest of us. This individual probably actually knows what it is like to live on a budget and probably knows first hand the effects of higher gas prices and relentless tax increases.

The requirements to run for the House or Senate are as basic as can be, and set forth in Article I. Sections 2 & 3 of the Constitution. Our Founding Fathers made the requirements basic because they wanted a government of the people run by the people. My, how far away from that ideal have we come.

Given all kinds of schemes designed to protect incumbency, it is almost impossible for an everyday person to run for House or Senate seats. Thus we get a Congress made up of an elitist “ruling” class, consisting of Ivy League lawyers, career politicians, the idle rich and celebrities. None of whom have a clue what it is truly like to live responsibly in real America. Yet, these elitists deign to know the “cure” for all of our ills. Yeah, right!

Just once, I would love someone to ask one of these elitists if they even know how much a gallon of milk costs. Chances are they would have to consult their personal shoppers first.

The left is like a dreamworks animation flick. Full of names, but no substance. Baldwin is proof.

He doesn't think that calling his a child a disgusting pig will work against him?
Too funny. Actually, scary. I grew up in CT. I heard on Fox he would like to run against Lieberman. CT is a blue state, but not that blue.
