Jackass Chris Matthews calls West Point the “Enemy Camp”

I always thought Chris Matthews was a fool, I think I will revise that opinion to "fucking idiot". Imagine calling America’s young and brave future leaders enemies, because they did not gush and tingle over every little word from the Poser In Chief.

These young men and women have long ago learned to view the world in its stark and real terms. They know the Commander In Chief handed them a weak hand after dithering for months to come up with a politically calculated strategy that does more to cure his political woes, than to assure victory in Afghanistan. Unlike Matthews, they’re not fools.

The only enemy camp I can see here in America is the one in NYC labeled MSNBC!

Geez... Mathews publicly views Bush and that roused rabble of West Point cadets (and especially those resentfully skeptical older folks) as the enemy rather than the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

I've never been a Mathews fan, but this comment was an utter disgrace.

Chris Matthews is terrible and his comments worse. West Point is full of future officers. They are NOT the types to fawn over anything. And I honestly don't feel President Obama went to West Point for "fawning" anyways.

But to call West Point "enemy camp"? WTF?!?!?

President Obama spoke in front of an audience of dignified young men and women who will soon put their lives on the line for even Chris Matthews. They gave their Commander and Chief the respect he deserved as Commander and Chief. For Matthews to refer to that heroic audience as the "enemy camp" literally makes me sick at my stomach.

Thank you, Clifton, for this post! Interesting to see all three of the lowest rated cable "new commentators" blathering together. The lack of enthusiasm for yet another flailing speech from the campaigner was precisely right. Rousing cheers to the cadets and serious boos to Obama and MESSNBC.

why is this guy still on TV? Honestly

I don't normally swear, but I think your characterization about covers it.

I didn't get to see the speech or the reaction from the cadets, but I did see a picture in the paper today and they were trying to get autographs in the picture I saw, so what exactly does Mattews expect them to do? Had they laid down and kissed his feet would that have been good enough?

Matthew's comment is beyond disgraceful. It is because he takes that us vs. them nonsense way too far.

Nor should he, which makes Matthews looking for such all the more stupid.

Matthews makes me sick too. The idea that he expected future officers to get all tingly over life and death matters is absurd.

Eric Lee:

Even the left is calling Matthews out on this one.

Janelle:

Yep the trio of stupidity was in full effect. Did you notice Maddows agreeing with Matthews at the end?

Why is MSNBC still broadcasting?

If you want to see the cadet's reactions go to Gateway Pundit, he has a video of the cadets falling asleep during the speech.

How on earth is West Point the "enemy camp" for the Commander in Chief of the United States armed forces?

Christ Matthews has lived down to your description of him in the post. I won't add any description of my own - I'm new here and don't want to be a good guest...
