NY-23 Defeat: Sarah Palin Rallies The Troops

A Victory for Common Sense and Fiscal Sanity

Congratulations to the new Governors-Elect of Virginia and New Jersey! I’d also like to offer a special word of support to the new Lieutenant Governor-Elect of New Jersey, Kim Guadagno, the first woman to hold that office.
Of course, the real victors in this election are the ordinary men and women who voted for positive change and a return to fiscal sanity. Your voices have been heard.
The race for New York’s 23rd District is not over, just postponed until 2010. The issues of this election have always centered on the economy – on the need for fiscal restraint, smaller government, and policies that encourage jobs. In 2010, these issues will be even more crucial to the electorate. I commend Doug Hoffman and all the other under-dog candidates who have the courage to put themselves out there and run against the odds.
To the tireless grassroots patriots who worked so hard in that race and to future citizen-candidates like Doug, please remember Reagan’s words of encouragement after his defeat in 1976:
“The cause goes on. Don't get cynical because look at yourselves and what you were willing to do, and recognize that there are millions and millions of Americans out there that want what you want, that want it to be that way, that want it to be a shining city on a hill.”
The cause goes on.
- Sarah Palin

This woman knows the difference between a battle and a war. Yes, conservatives failed to get Hoffman elected (this time), but the war to get the Republican Party back on its conservative moorings has just started. We have much to do if we expect to go into 2010 with quality candidates who stand firm on principles of fiscal responsibility and common sense.

Can you hear us now Charlie Crist?

Considering Hoffman just got on everybody's radar less than a month ago and only lost by a few percentage points, I'd have to agree that the battle was lost but not the war. 2010 will be interesting.

OT but... I found this on this 2nd page of an American Spectator article.

Did some searching... Here is the official web site of the COP15.

It has this headline... 'Speculations that Senator Barbara Boxer may try to force the controversial climate bill through the Environment and Public Works Committee without Republican votes.' Read article here.

If you are already 'on' this, I apologize for commenting about it. But it's.. more new scary stuff, to me.

We have no choice but to battle on. America is going to be damaged by 2010 and 2012. What will be called for is principled people to not only put it back in place, but to take the necessary steps to make sure fools do not bring us to that point again.

Yes that looks like the recipe for both Cap and Trade and PelosiCare. After yesterday's election, Republicans are not going to touch either one.

Clifton, I voted for Reagan in 1976 in the Presidential primary. I obtained a large REAGAN button from the local Republican headquarters for that campaign. I still have that button, 33 years later, still as shiny and new as it was the day I got it.
