Whoring For Healthcare: Landrieu sells her vote for $300 million not $100 million

Well Harry Reid got his 60 votes to begin the senate debate on healthcare reform.  His little pimping tactic to get Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu to go along has turned out to cost taxpayers more than originally reported.

From Roll Call:
To help secure her vote, Reid also included a provision in the bill sought by Landrieu to provide increased Medicaid funds for states recovering from major disasters such as 2005’s Hurricane Katrina that devastated New Orleans and parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
Landrieu defended the inclusion of the provision and said Republican critics who accuse her of selling her vote for $100 million are wrong and that she has the support of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

“I will correct something. It’s not $100 million, it’s $300 million, and I’m proud of it and will keep fighting for it,” Landrieu told reporters after her floor speech. “But that is not why I started this health care debate; I started this health care debate for all the reasons I just mentioned in my statement” on the floor.
Landrieu can color her words anyway she likes, but the truth of the matter is she sold her vote. While the price between Landrieu and a two-dollar whore is $299,999,998 the act is exactly the same.

Landrieu went on further to say that her vote for starting debate is not an indication of how she will vote for the final bill:
In her remarks, Landrieu explained her decision by saying that her vote “should in no way be construed ... as an indication of how I might vote as this debate comes to an end.”
What we can construe is that if the price is right, Landrieu will “perform” as told.  These lawmakers and their wheeling and dealings with OUR tax dollars really make me ill.

Next step is suppose to start on the 30th. Every conservative that can should go to DC on the 30th and do what they can to this socialized HC.

Why is this not a surprise?

Especially after Rep Joseph Cao, also from LA, sold out the GOP on the Pelosicare bill after receiving a promise of from Obama to help his district which includes New Orleans.

This is as plain an example as possible of congress not just ignoring the people, but rendering moot any stance on the content of the bill. But whores are always willing to sell, so I doubt Landrieu had any compunction about this bill.

"should in no way be construed ... as an indication of how I might vote as this debate comes to an end." She told Reid what she wanted to get her on board, he gave it to her in writing, and now she wants to pretend she might hold out? Is she a comedian or does she think we're all complete morons? --SCOTT

It's amazing how they work up there. On both sides of the isle these despicable acts occur on a regular basis. We need to give some of these cowards the PINK SLIP next time around. I wish BUBBAS AMERICANS would wake up and turn American Idol off and inform themselves on the issues.

I'm with Joey: send these Jerk Wads packing in 2010. And I think the "Great Unwashed" are noticing the blatant disregard Democrats display towards us, now that they have super majorities. It's amazing that 'Dancing With The Stars' can't even distract some of the more obtuse among the electorate, as these dill weed Dems have gotten so brazen.

I joined the send Congress a "pink slip" campaign, started By Janet Porter (worldnetdaily). Over 5 million have reached Congress, courtesy of Fedex, for 29.95.
Fedex is authorized to hand deliver to members in the House and Senate. Two Senators and one member of the House for my district - way less than I could have sent them the same info on my own. Agree with you, Joey, all the way! In marketing terms, one absolute dissent equals 100, so every one of these actual pink slips mean serious business. And talk about dealing with boxes and boxes of these in every office.

Well I am in agreement on everything stated, especially pink slips for BOTH parties. It seems RINO's including Michael Steele are becoming the voice of the RNC who at one time nominated a Conservative,in fact the last one,Ronald Reagan.

As far as people waking up it is my belief they are and suppose 2010will be the true test.

If that fails, the Supreme Court will be stacked against America and no chance of over-turning these unconstitutional actions.

I wonder if this $300 million and the rest of the bribes....I mean "incentives" will be counted toward the overall costs of the Senate Bill....should push that closer to that magic Trillion dollar mark...
