Dear Readers;
I owe you all a big apology. For the last two weeks content here on Another Black Conservative has been down right shabby! There have been days without posts, days with only one post and major issues missed. Please forgive me.
My life in real time has been explosively busy. Three issues are eating up my time like the Cookie Monster on crack. First, there is the unexpected up tick in my photography business. I am easily exceeding my normal monthly average for assignments. While this is excellent news for my wallet, it is bad news for my blog. Assignments come before blogging.
Issues number two is renovating two rooms in my home for a long-term houseguest. It is not major work, but it has to be completed by Tuesday. This is where a major chunk of my blogging time has gone.
Finally, issue #3 is I am hunting for a second car. This has to be the biggest pain in the neck. When did buying used cars become such a project? There use to be a time when you could easily buy a used car without having to finance it. Today it seems like the only decent used cars all have price tags that require financing. Sorry, but I ain’t doing that. Given the touch and go situation of our economy, the last thing I need is another loan to pay off.
So, Dear Readers, please stick with me for just a few more days as I get these three issues under control. I promise to knock your socks off with the postings after that.
Clifton B.
Over worked and blogged deprived.

No worries, Clifton, we understand (well, I do, can't speak for others, I guess). Do your life stuff, and we'll be here. :D
Good luck with everything Clifton! We will be waiting when you return. :) And P.S. agreed on the car loan thing! Why take on more debt? Good luck with your search.
I have been wondering why you haven't posted any blogs. Hopefully, there will be a day when your blog will pay all your bills and some. We need you in the blogosphere.Don't be gone too long now.
No apoligies necessary. In order to do a thing well, the foundation, the roots, the mindset for that thing must be solid. The blog and your readers will benifit that much more when all the above is set.
In other words, handle yo bizness, we ain't going nowheres :)
Looking forward to your return! I just bought a Honda Fit and love it. Good gas mileage, Honda's last forever, just a bit more expensive than most used cars with low mileage (about $15,000) and surprisingly roomy. Unfortunately, I went from paid-off car to car loan, but the money I save in car repair and maintenance has been worth it so far... And did I mention that Honda's last forever? :)
No need to apologize for having a life, mate.
Just keep on up with the excellent blogging as time allows.
Cheers,
Chris
Still with you Clifton. Know exactly what you are possibly going through.
OMG - I just went through the exact same thing with a car. I just didn't want to buy a new car. It took me a month to find a used car. It is far from great, but it will do the job.
Congrats on the added business. That is indeed good news for you.
At least two of the three have good news components.
Yer doin fine!
Thank you.
You have GOT to NOT be so hard on yourself. ANYone follows you in this Bloggyland HAS to identify with you and KNOW that life happens. Frankly, the fact that you have even posted at all with ALL THAT going on... phewww~ my hats off to you!
I feel your pain on all three :) Even helping the wallet out is not always the best thing since you have to look and see if it bumps you up to another tax bracket...
Good Luck on the car...
No apology needed, Clifton. Real life occasionally intrudes on me as well! I just enjoy your posts as frequently or infrequently as they appear, and your blog is a daily "must read" for me.
Cheers!
I wished that my time in real life was as explosively busy as yours, Clifton. However, I am very happy that your business is booming. Your job is a priority over blogging, even though I really enjoy reading them. Count your blessings.
No biggie. Totally understand real life comes before blogging. Just please don't Stop blogging altogether ! You're now one of the blogs I check daily for the latest dirt on the democrats....
Love your Gov. Christie !

Let me add my 2 cents... I agree with all the others... take care of your life.... we'll be here. Congrats on the rise in business, wish I were there to give ya a hand in the addition you're building (I love me some woodworking), and good luck in finding a good used car.
No need to apologize, Clifton. You're a hard working guy with real life responsibilities.
I think I speak for everyone, in saying that we love your blog and we will be here waiting when you get back. Good things are worth waiting for.
No worries, Clifton. I'm very glad to hear your business is picking up! Take care of RL (Real Life TM) and I'll keep checking in ever so often to see if there's a new post.
Good luck with the car search! I'm trying to eke out a few more years on the old Ford myself.
Real life comes first. Fuhgeddaboudit Clifton!
Cheap cars went away with lower taxes. You, like myself, are probably still stuck on the days of $500 cars being cheap and $5000 cars being good...well, hate to tell ya, but we are both getting old and those days are over. :-)
Phew! Just reading about your responsibilities made me tired. I hope all of you can take a little break and have fun over this weekend. Best wishes.

People, wake up. We are in trouble here. Were is LCR
Don't apologize Clifton. Your first duty is to yourself and your family.
I went months without blogging much when I was in contract for a house and was studying for an exam.
Several of the blogs I follow are on temporary or permanent break right now.
Unlike some people (Krugman et al), we don't get paid to sit around and blog all day.
We have jobs and our bosses don't let us blog on the job.
We have lives and our significant others get jealous of our time.
We have responsibilities that cannot be handled by writing a check to an illegal alien from our Nobel Prize earnings.
Take care of business first and then get back to entertaining us. We love your work but we care about you more.
Thanks for sharing Clifton. We'll be here when you get back.
Remodeling AND shopping for a car. I'm amazed your brain hasn't exploded.
so happy for you Clifton! don't worry about us just Enjoy!
Looking for a daily driver?
Wanna buy an 06' GTO with no engine?
You can find a lot of used cars pretty cheaply these days- Good luck finding one though- it sucks buying used because of the unknown variables.
Toyotas would be good IMO- They have no cars sporty enough for fanboys to beat the crap out of, and are decent drivers. Nissan also makes very classy cars and they are not likely cars to have been modified and thus abused.
Good Luck-
We will be here when you return.
Living in your house while you remodel it ?
I saw a cartoon one time with the devil giving this guy in hell 2 choices.
Burning in hell....or living in your house while it's being remodeled.
LOL
So true.

ah, i think we all luv ya and will be waiting here when you get back!!
I don't have a blog, I just enjoy all of yours and appreciate the time and effort all of you put into them.
Aces to you, Clifton, and the rest of you. Otherwise, I might start wapping people over the head with their own 'newspapers'.
Taking care of your family is much more important than this Conservative Thing Of Ours [La Cosa Conservative].
Good luck and Godspeed.
I just took a few days off my blog for similar reasons. We do what we can.
Dude, congrats on your business doing well. Delighted to hear it. There's so little good economic news now.
I've been on vacation too, Clifton and not able to blog....congrats on your new business and we all understand here!
I wonder if "cash for clunkers" has contributed to the used car problem.
Happy Independence Day, Clifton.
Good to hear- Welcome back!
Thanks for the heads-up.
Looking forward to your return.
Hope you had a great Independence Day!
No worries - looks like all of us will be here when you get back from all of the responses. ;)
Good luck with everything! Hope you have a Happy 4th.
When did buying used cars become such a project?
The Democrats "cash for clunkers" program not only subsidized car purchases with tax dollars, it mandated that cars traded in must be destroyed. So fewer available used cars equals higher prices.
Life happens! We will be here, when you again, get more time to blog! Meanwhile, good wishes!
I am very un-happy with your "cop-out" You've had kudos from many fine, straight-out Americans... and you can't just find the time anymore? Come-on. You can still watch, listen, and give an opinion. Maybe a short one, but link us in and give us a "heads-up"
You have disappointed this conservative White Woman. I don't care what your color or ethnicity is, I came to your blog because I needed a safe haven... and Now you are "taking time off?"
Clifton! You are bright, insightful, and needed. Go buy a "amn" car.
Your blog, if nutured and cared for will last much longer than an automobile.
Much love from a "white" woman who is conservative and thinks you have much too offer and that you "Rock the Cashbah"!!! Where is LCR?
RK
You don't have to appologize because you are getting more work.
When comparing a thing like blogging which generally doesn't pay, with something like your photography business which does, you go with the one that pays.
We all understand the need to generate income and make money.
Real life needs to come before online time, that is a given. You wouldn't be you if you did otherwise. Glad to know things are going well for you in real time. :)
The used car issue is a problem all over the US. The Cash for Klunkers thing removed many cars that in normal situations would have been sold as used. They've been destroyed, reducing the amount of cars for sale used, and bumping up the price of those that are available as used. Another unfortunate side effect of this, has been that because the available prices for used vehicles exceeds blue book value, it's artificially inflating the property taxes owners owe to their cities and towns, in those that charge property taxes for vehicles, as they do in my state.
I truly enjoy your blog, and am more than content to keep checking back for when you have the time.
Mary
