Thou shall not speak ill of ObamaCare … or else!

Question: What do you do after you just passed the most unpopular piece of legislation in recent memory and the public still hates it?

Answer: Attack all those who still stand in opposition.

This is the current strategy Obama and the Democrats have embarked upon now that ObamaCare is law. We first saw the plan put into action last weekend, with still yet to be proven, accusation from some Congressional Black Caucus members claiming Tea Partiers made racial slurs against them. Then the Democrats went into full victim mode and claimed all kinds of intimidation from Tea Partiers and the right. The media, ever the lapdogs, dutifully followed.

But the attacks don’t stop there. There is another group that needs to be silenced. That group is the corporations. While the media was busy smearing the Tea Partiers, several companies announced ObamaCare’s nasty side effects on their companies. Catepiller, John Deere, Verizon and AT&T all announced write-downs they would have to take because, ObamaCare eliminates  subsidies to these companies for retiree prescription drug programs and tax credits to these companies for providing the program.

Such bad news about ObamaCAre could not go unanswered by the thugocracy. So here comes the threat of Congressional investigations. 

From Power Line: These announcements are the tip of the iceberg; hundreds like them will follow as Obamacare becomes a reality. Congressional Democrats, evidently stung by the bad publicity, are trying to strike back. A reader writes:

Good post on the true cost of ObamaCare. But it gets better: the Dems are now shaking down CEOs who don't get with the program. In the attached letter, Henry Waxman not only orders the CEOs of AT&T, Caterpillar, Deere & Co, and Verizon to testify before the Energy and Commerce Committee, but also to produce internal analyses and emails related to their statements. They don't expressly subpoena the CEOs, so we can hope that they tell the Dems to GFY, though somehow I doubt that will happen.

The Dems sent these letters to the Republicans on the committee after 6pm tonight with no advance notice or prior cooperation.

This tactic may work to intimidate giants like AT&T into keeping their programs running longer it won’t work for smaller companies. These smaller companies will have to take their write-downs and abandon their programs immediately. The bad side effects of ObamaCare will be know sooner, rather than later.

Showdown in Searchlight: Thousands of Tea Partiers rally at Tea Party Express III in Searchlight Nevada

The Tea Party Express rolled into Searchlight, Nevada. Searchlight is the hometown of Senate Majority leader Harry Reid. I have read crowd estimates from 8,000 to 20,000 people. CNN though did estimate the crowd to be "Hundreds of people, at least dozens of people - we haven't gotten a count of how many people turned out there”. Let the image below be your guide.

Unruly supporters of Harry Reid set up camp about a mile away from the Tea Party rally. Perhaps these are the dozens of people CNN was talking about.

Sarah Palin headlined the event. Palin called out the media for its bogus reporting on Tea Parties inciting violence. Palin also told slammed the Obama, Pelosi , Reid agenda as being a crapshoot on America’s future. In addition to Palin, Andrew Breitbart, Andrew Marcus, Andrea Shea King, Victoria Jackson, Chris Cassone  were also present.

The Las Vegas Sun gives a pretty honest description of the events.

Harry Reid Supporters throw eggs at Tea Party Express bus and Andrew Breitbart

Harry Reid’s goon squad was working overtime today. 

From Tea Party Express III: Supporters of Senator Harry Reid have just thrown eggs at the Tea Party Express bus caravan - striking at least one of the three buses (the red Tea Party Express bus) with multiple eggs. 

About 35 Reid supporters had lined Highway 95 in front of the Nugget Casino in Searchlight where they were attempting a counter-demonstration the tens of thousands of tea party supporters who are gathering for the "Showdown in Searchlight." 

If that wasn’t enough, when Andrew Breitbart confronted Reid’s goons, they tried and failed to egg him too. 

From the Founding Bloggers: Supporters of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid staged a counter-protest today in Searchlight, Nevada, the Senator’s hometown.  Reid supporters gathered just down the road from the launching point of the Tea Party Express tour, and when Breitbart happened upon them, he was met with threats of violence.  At least one protester threw an egg at Brietbart, missing him.  Eggs were also thrown at the Tea Party Express bus.

To add insult to insult, Reid supporters called the police to report that Breitbart had provoked an incident. 

Typical leftists. They cry about “intimidation” if you raise your voice above a whisper, but they are usually the ones who actually get violent. Violence might be the only way Harry Reid gets his sorry ass reelected.

Video: Sarah Palin stumps for John McCain in Arizona

Here is the full video of Sarah Palin stumping for John McCain in Arizona. 

It is funny watching this video and thinking back to McCain’s concession speech. Sarah was not allowed to give her short speech. Today, McCain would probably give his eyetooth to have Sarah so much as wink to his audience. While McCain is still the same man he was then, Palin has grown by leaps and bounds.

Throughout Palin’s speech notice how she tried to cloak McCain in her brand of conservatism rather than sing praises for his. Also did you notice the immediate drop in enthusiasm once McCain took to the stage?

I cannot help but wonder how different things might have gone. Had the McCain campaign simply allowed Sarah to be Sarah, rather than trying to shoe horn her into McCain flawed RINO philosophies.

While some conservatives have a major problem with this endorsement, I don’t. After reading Going Rogue, I know she is doing it out of personal loyalty. I like Palin and her brand of conservatism, but just because she endorses someone, it doesn’t mean I have to vote for that candidate. If I were in Arizona, I would have gone to the rally, cheered Sarah, listen to McCain and then gone out and support JD Hayworth.

Forget about Earth Hour! How about The Truth Hour?

The World Wild Life Fund has this to say on their website about Earth Hour. 

On Earth Hour hundreds of millions of people around the world will come together to call for action on climate change by doing something quite simple—turning off their lights for one hour. The movement symbolizes that by working together, each of us can make a positive impact in this fight, protecting our future and that of future generations... 

Yeah right, just more collectivist BS. The idea that these folks are acting like Climategate did not happen or that the IPCC reports aren’t shot full of wholes is amazing. It is almost like some daffy parent still trying to sell Santa Claus to their teenage children. In just the last year man made global warming is looking more like a global scam than a global crisis.

I have a better idea, instead of turning off our lights like a bunch of cave dwellers; I say turn on all your lights! Heck, break out the Christmas lights too! We can make our own statement, lets demand for one hour that our world leaders actually start telling us the truth. Tell us the truth about Climate Change, the economy, national security or any other topic where the truth has been in short supply.

So forget Earth Hour and man made global warming! Up with the Truth Hour!

Fake Nevada Tea Party candidate facing felony charges

Scott Ashjian, a fake Tea Party candidate, running for Harry Reid’s seat is facing felony charges for bouncing checks. 

From Associated Press: A Nevada asphalt contractor who faces a legal challenge to his Tea Party of Nevada candidacy for U.S. Senate was hit Friday with felony theft and bad check charges in Las Vegas that allege he bounced a $5,000 business check last year.

Scott Ashjian is one of a record 22 candidates, including 12 Republicans, running for the seat held by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who is seeking a fifth term.

Bernie Zadrowski, head of the Clark County district attorney’s office bad check unit, said he would seek an arrest warrant Monday in Las Vegas Justice Court. Ashjian could face up to 14 years in state prison if convicted.

The Associated Press failed to mention that Ashjian is a fake Tea Partier. Instead in their article they say the Tea Parties are distancing themselves from Ashjian: 

The tea party movement is a disparate coalition of conservative groups angered by federal spending, rising taxes and the growth and reach of government. Other tea party activists have been distancing themselves from Ashjian, and an ad targeting him has been sponsored by the Tea Party Express, one of the most visible factions of the national tea party movement. 

Actually the Tea Parties were calling him out as a fake because they never heard of him:

Bob Owens at Pajamas Media sniffed out Scott Ashjian as a fake three weeks ago:

There is perhaps no clearer example of an attempt to co-opt and undermine the tea party movement than the false flag operation that appears to be taking place in Nevada for the benefit of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Unpopular nationally for being thin-skinned and surly, Reid is foundering in his home state of Nevada, where he faces reelection in November. Reid has consistently trailed Republican challengers in his reelection bid; he trails all four in recent polls. Without a major shift, Reid’s political career would seem to be on the cusp of drawing to an ignoble end.

And then in walked Scott Ashjian.

You can be forgiven if you don’t know who Scott Ashjian is, or where he came from, or if he’s even a serious candidate. Even local journalists haven’t had much luck figuring that out. All we know for certain is that Ashjian seems poised to jump into the 2010 Nevada Senate race as a third-party candidate representing the newly formed Tea Party of Nevada. [...]

I looked at Scott’s Ashjian's campaign site and aside from looking a little on the cheap side, it reads like someone trying a little too hard to sound like a Tea Partier. Further, a look at Scott’s Facebook page and you have to wonder if the guy has any real roots in Nevada. He only have 30 friends that consist of family members, kids too young to vote and people from outside Nevada and it looks like the page is only a month or two old.

With Harry Reid below 50%, a third party candidate in the race is the only way for him to win reelection. So having a plant like Scott Ashjian would be the perfect answer to Harry’s prayers. If I were Harry, I would start searching for Plan B.

As November approaches, desperate Democrats will no doubt try to play all kinds of tricks with the Tea Party.  My advice to all of you is to do as much research as possible on any candidate you are considering voting for. Dig back as far as you can into their voting records, histories, etc. The last thing we need is to replace one joker in Washington with another one.

While the left calls for Republicans to condemn violent acts and threats against Democrats, the left seems to be the ones making very real death threats.

These screen shots are only a sample of what this wacko tweeted, Patterico has much more. This leftwing nutjob is a fan of both Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow.  I know watching MSNBC rots your brain, but this guy is beyond the pale.

I certainly hope the FBI is onto this nutcase because when it comes to Sarah Palin, the left have a very unreal and unexplainable hatred for the woman. They way they carry on you would swear she ate all their children or something.  How much do you want to bet, the media completely ignores this story?
