Yesterday Obama was giving a speech on Wall Street reform in Quincy, Illinois. During the speech, Obama let his mask slip and once again we caught a glimpse of his inner Socialist.
From Hot Air: We’re not, we’re not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that’s fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money. But, you know, part of the American way is, you know, you can just keep on making it if you’re providing a good product or providing good service. We don’t want people to stop, ah, fulfilling the core responsibilities of the financial system to help grow our economy.
Of course he begrudges success, otherwise why should anyone have any sort of ceiling on his or her earning potential? What is a certain point anyway? Is that point the same for everyone or just for people who do not think like Obama? Who gets to decide what is enough? The whole share the wealth nonsense is so damn arbitrary. Some silly despot gets to pick winners and losers at a whim. No thanks; I will stick with Capitalism. So long as you are earning your income honestly, who the hell has any right to say enough is enough?
I think this type of thinking comes from the fact that many on the left view wealth as finite. They look at the nation’s wealth as a great big pie where everyone gets a cut. Most of us on the right view wealth as dynamic, kind of like a balloon that can expand and contract for everyone.
The other thing about Obama’s remark, that Ed Morrissey catches, is how Obama views the role of the private sector.
... Furthermore, the responsibility of an entrepreneur isn’t to “grow our economy,” core or otherwise. It’s to grow his own economy. In a properly regulated capitalist system, the natural tension of self-interests create economic growth through innovation and efficient use of capital and resources.
So true, people do not go into business for the government, or the economy or reasons of social justice. People go into business for themselves. In that process of self-enrichment, others can benefit too, in the form of jobs, technical innovations or better services. For Socialists/ Statists like Obama, control of those benefits is really what they are all about.

wonder what he thinks about his hollywood friends making "more than enough money"? some actors earn 20 million/movie, which is more than some small businesses earn in a yr.
Nicely put.
If wealth is finite, then someone explain this recession that has seen massive wealth losses. Where did that wealth, from the rich I may add, go to? It sure didn't go to the "poor" as they suffered even worse. There's been a net loss, and a substantial amount as well, of wealth in this country since 2008, proving that wealth as a set finite number is out and out wrong. It's dynamic fluxuating with the market. What these clowns in DC don't get is that they think they can "level" the pieces to equal parts (with a couple of extra slices for themselves I'm sure). This isn't just assault on Capitalism and the American system, but individualism as well. How we go into business for ourselves shows the comtempt he has for individualism. After all, socailists are collectivist, that everything is equally owned and produced. If that was the case, my life would be doing a lot better, but alas, the nonproductive have taken too much from me. My wealth declines while theirs are wasted and they go nowhere fast.
Mr Obama, I think you've made more than enough policies, made more than enough class warfare, and more than enough foreign graffes. And yet, you continue to make more of them. How much is enough for you?
I think Obama has "made enough money"; he should stop working.

"Today, the President released his 2009 federal income and gift tax returns. He and the First Lady filed their income tax return jointly and reported an adjusted gross income of $ 5,505,409."
How much is enough, barack hussein obama?
don't miss this part ;

WHO will decide, in obamas America, what is deemed 'good' service or good product?
the EPA? Cass Sustein? Obama? Jarrett? the Unions?
And we will have to continue this fool's salary and perks like we always do. WHY?
Very nicely put, I have nothing to add-

Thanks

Welcome to ABC. Good question, what about those overpaid Hollywood stars? Do they make enough? Somehow, I just don't see Obama telling them to cool it on making cash...especially around election time.

Perfect example of what I am talking about. There is no pie to be divided. Wealth is always in flux. Even on a personal level. Think back to your first job and how much you made then. Compare that to where you are today and it has surly changed somewhere along the way.
Just Me:
Even if he didn't make enough, I would like to see him stop working. LOL
LL:
Well I guess it is safe to say 5 million isn't enough. The thing that really gets me with so many of these socialist types is that they all became very rich off capitalism. Now that they have theirs, they want to pull the latter away from everybody else. Truly a selfish lot.

Welcome to ABC. You are right you gets to decide what is "good" under these statist systems? It is almost impossible to successfully plan a business when you have to worry about your good or service falling out of favor with the ruling class.
Janelle:
We should cut his perks after 2 years and then tell him he has reached a certain point and has received too much benefits.

Thanks!
Thank you! As an opinionated little old lady/mother/grandma I often fight for air time with the leftie children. Finite pie versus expandable balloon is the perfect sound bite to demonstrate that the conservative view is not simply efficient; it provides and is kind.
The people are scary polarized. We need some non partisan educational ads out there. Make the people think. Float the pie balloon in a fair way, it is so simple – and compelling.
