The Raaaaacism Industrial Complex picked up a new member today. During an interview with The Young Turks, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) smeared the Tea Party as Klansmen, George Wallace and even mocks McCain’s POW experience.
The odd thing is Cohen is Jewish and was smeared by another Democrat two years ago during the primaries. Since he cannot see the strong vein of anti Semitism running through his own party, why is this guy fit to talk about racism anywhere else?

Perhaps Cohen's biggest problem is that he feels somewhat forced to make such comments -- not to make excuses for him -- as Cohen is up for re-election against former four-term Memphis mayor Willie Herenton, who has never been shy about turning much anything into a racial matter.
Rest assured, the racial crap here in Memphis will hit the fan in the coming months. And sadly, that's pretty much par for the course in the Bluff City.
Happy and Blessed Easter Clifton!

Thanks for that inside info. It does explain a lot. However, that racial politics game is a deadly one. I really wish we would all start condemning those politicians who play the race card for political points.

Thank you, and the same to you and yours!
Very typically Memphis sort of stuff. Memphis is a world unto itself, so this is no surprise.
Thanks for sharing it--any conservative running for that seat this year.
