Gay Rights activists heckle Obama at Barbara Boxer rally

It looks like Barbara Boxer may find out the hard way that having Obama stump for you isn’t all it is crack up to be.  The Washington Times is reporting that gay rights activists repeatedly interrupted Obama’s stump speech for Barbara Boxer. The activists were calling out Obama on his promises about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.
Washington Times: LOS ANGELES | A group of gay rights activists disrupted President Obama's speech at a fundraiser here for Sen. Barbara Boxer Monday night, decrying what they describe as Mr. Obama's inaction on overturning the military's ban on gay service members and calling on him to submit repeal language to Congress.
The activists interrupted Mr. Obama in the middle of his remarks to high-value Democratic donors during a reception at the California Science Center, with one protester shouting from the audience, "What about 'Don't ask, don't tell?'"
Mr. Obama yelled back, "We are going to do that."
He kept talking, increasing his volume to be heard over the protesters as the crowd took up a chant of "Yes, we can," to drown them out.
The Gay Patriot says the hecklers were from a group called GetEQUAL. When you watch the video notice how some in the crowd chant “Yes We Can” to drown out the hecklers. I would not be surprised if the chanters were handy dandy Obama plants.

I don't even know what to think about this particular move. Maybe the O-man is trying to appeal to whatever Conservative base would hold dear this cause. If so, then I guess his calculation of the Conservatives is way off if he thinks this will be an adequate "gift" to the Conservatives. If the prior is true, then this would only illustrate the ignorance of the left and show that they may truly believe that we are a bunch of "red-necks". Of course this would never work, it is not what motivates us. Maybe they believe their own lies about us being bible-clinging, gun-owning, minority-hating, teabaggers- and it should act as a display of the way we are viewed from those in the D.C. political realm. Sorry, but I do not hate the "gays" and I do not believe we should restrict any rights from them. What I believe is that marriage is ONLY 1 man and 1 woman. Re-defining marriage is a bad decision, but since re-definition is a key tool of the left (changing words to accommodate their POV), I can see their confusion on the issue. You can not tell me you want a peanut butter sandwich and then tell me you want me to make it out of jam- it would then cease to be a peanut butter sandwich. The left would have us believe that a jam sandwich could be considered a peanut butter sandwich if we were open-minded enough. Not the case.

Truth be told I think the battle over gay marriage is already settled, but neither side realizes yet. Ask any 20 or 30 year old about gay marriage and 90% of them are cool with it. If the left simply left the issue alone for 10 years, they would have what they want without any fuss. Instead pushing for it now will only cause those who disagree to put up stronger roadblocks that will take much longer to undo.

Of course this suits Democrats just fine. Because so long as they can paint the right as homophobic and dangle gay marriage in front of the gay community, they will have a reliable voting block just like they have with the black community.
