While MSNBC is no stranger to manufacturing racism on behalf of the Raaaaacism Industrial Complex, there are limits to the imagination. Yesterday, Raaaaacism Industrial Complex member Norah O’Donnell stretched those limits a wee bit too far in her attempt to find something racist in Newt Gingrich’s speech at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC).
From JammieWearingFool: MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell on Friday went too far for even her colleagues at the liberal cable channel, receiving mockery for her assertion that Newt Gingrich made racially charged remarks about Barack Obama. At the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, Thursday, the former GOP leader commented that “shooting three-point shots may be clever.”
Speaking of the President’s basketball skills, Gingrich added, “But it doesn’t put anybody to work. And what we need is a president, not an athlete. We need somebody who actually focuses on getting people back to work.” After the clip was played, Morning Joe guest host O’Donnell lobbed her accusation at Gingrich.
“But I’m not sure what he means by this particular sound bite,” said O’Donnell. “And I think it’s open to some criticism because it suggests that the president is an athlete and some people may suggest, you know, because all black people are good athletes. I mean that’s what it sort of sounds like to me.”
The rest of the Morning Joe panel scoffed at O’Donnell’s claim, erupting in a flurry of dismissiveness
You know why O’Donnell really did this? Because she realizes that the left gets to use Political Correctness to define what they consider “acceptable speech”. As such they can arbitrarily assert what is or isn’t racist. Just look at the word socialism. Prior to Obama you could call anyone a socialist and it never had anything to do with racism. Today however, when Obama pushes his socialist policies there is a need to end that debate, thus the left arbitrarily makes the word “socialist” a new code word for hate speech. It is pretty transparent and oh so very pathetic.
Even though the concept of creating of new code words is pretty straight forward, it does require a wee bit of finesse, and clearly ham fisted O’Donnell lacks that finesse. Back to Racism Manufacturing 101 Ms. O’ Donnell, you dunce!

Yes, this was truly a pathetic reach on her part, almost as pathetic as trying to smack down a 17-year old at a book signing.I took Gingrich's statement as more of a jab at the media for concerning itself with "Entertainment Tonight" type reporting of Obamas celebrity instead of asking him the hard questions (God forbid!).If O'Donnell is able to pluck racism out of thin air she may be able to get a job with Charles Blow.
GREAT QUOTES FROM LIBERAL THINKERS:
“all black people are good athletes.”

The irony is that no one is going to boycott MSNBC or ask for Norah O’Donnell to be fired, because that’s simply not how we role.
I must have missed the day or turned the channel because I remember watching the panel. I usually watch them in the morning because I like the show better than what's on the other channels even with the bias. Joe does a decent enough job not brow-beating the people he disagrees with. He needs a little more backbone and bite though.
Back to the point- Let them grasp for anything since it makes them look silly. At least it happened on their most balanced show- would have been more interesting if the normal hosts were there.
P.S.- I don't know the name of the weasel reporter guy with the glasses next to the 2 guest hosts, but I can not stand him. He is the personification of the group-think of liberal circles and seems to only spew what they want to hear without any real thought out opinion of his own.
