Elizabeth Warren - There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own.

This is Elizabeth Warren, former White House financial reform adviser. She is currently running for the Massachusetts senate against Scott Brown. This video has made Ms. Warren a rock star among the collectivist set. However, here on the Free Market side of the world, all I see is one hot mess.

Let's unpack Ms. Warren's statements, shall we?
I hear all this, you know, “Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever.”—No!
There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody.
You built a factory out there—good for you! But I want to be clear.
You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for.
You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate.
You were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for.
OK stop right there, Ms Warren. Unless this we are talking about some foreigner who just came to this country and started a factory, I am pretty sure this factory owner paid taxes for those roads, schools and police too. Furthermore, thanks to the progressive tax system in this country, anyone with enough money to start a factory surely paid a hell of a lot more for those things than the average Joe or Jane.
You didn’t have to worry that maurauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did.

Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea—God bless. Keep a big hunk of it.
But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.
As I stated before, anyone wealthy enough to start a factory clearly contributed more for all those government services than average middle class person did. But aside from paying more in taxes, what about the other contributions this factory owner is making?

Let's start with the most obvious J-O-B-S! Most factories require workers and means jobs. It is those jobs that give everybody money so they too can contribute to building those roads, educating those kids and hiring those cops.
Oh, and let us not forget that the whatever is being produced from this factory is no doubt something we all need or desire.

So let us recap everything this greedy factory owner is doing:
  • Paying more for his/her share of government services.
  • Providing jobs for the rest of us.
  • Producing a product we need or desire.
Hum, seem to me that given all of that, it seem rather unreasonable to say they need to contribute more.

If you want to know why this administration has failed to rescue this economy and create an environment conducive to producing jobs, look no further than Elizabeth Warren.

Video: Media ignoring Socialist revolution at Chicago Anti-War rally

Breitbart TV: Chicago media reported on a recent march in Chicago as being an "Anti-War" march organized by students and "faith based groups" who "hope to spark change in our democracy." What they left out was the clear fact that the march and rally had much less to do with the Iraq war than it did about a far-left socialist agenda. Citizen journalist "Rebel Pundit" provides the information the media chose not to tell their viewers.
Meanwhile, one moron brings a stupid "witch doctor" sign to a Tea Party rally and we have a week's worth of stories about the '"racism in the Tea Party."
Nothing too surprising here for us on the right. At left wing rally after left wing rally, international socialist and communist groups and have been coming out of the woodwork. However, videos like this may prove helpful to some of our friends on the left.

This weekend two of my dearest lefty friends stayed over.  Inevitably, we got to talking about politics and the subject of socialists high jacking the Democratic Party came up.  I showed them video after video of socialists at all kinds of left wing rallies, from pro-illegal immigration rallies in Arizona to pro-union rallies in Wisconsin and even the anti-cuts rallies in the UK. While my left wing friends did not concede that I was right, the look on their faces told me all I needed to know.  They felt snookered.

The lesson here is to save these videos, make a nice library of them and pass them on to any old school liberal friend you may know. It might just be the eye opener they need.

Katherine Hamm destroys Michael Moore's "national resource" theory

I love how this video puts our outrageous spending problem into perspective and kicks Michael Moore's foolishness to the curb.

You can read Katherine Hamm's article that accompanies this video here.

The blistering hypocrisy of Michael Moore - Part 352

The thing I absolutely cannot stand about the blistering hypocrisy of wealthy socialism peddlers like Michael Moore, is that they used the ladder of capitalism to climb to dazzling heights. Once there, they want to yank away that ladder from the rest of us and then hand us the rickety rope of socialism.  There is only one word to describe this behavior and that is selfishness.

We all know damn well that if these zany redistribution of wealth schemes were ever enacted the way Moore suggests, his selfish lard ass would be one of the first to hide and protect his own fortune.

If Michael Moore wants to convince me or anyone else of this "finite money" theory and the need to share, then he needs to start writing some really big checks to the U.S. Treasury.  If Moore isn't willing to do that, then he needs to find a quite corner somewhere and start eating a really big STFU salad!

Video: Wisconsin labor protest and international socialism

A few quick things hit me about this video.

First, is it just me or are there a lot of slackers in this socialist movement?  Look at these folks, some of them clearly have an education, but have failed to put that education to a positive use.  Instead, they bitch and moan about who has what. To me it all seems like sour grapes run amok. They failed to capitalize on their talents, so they throw stones at those who are successful.

My best friend's father, a Hindu who came to America with only $80 to his name and who now owns three drugstores, use to say; "if you cannot make money in America, you simply aren't trying hard enough".

Second, I am quite taken aback how the young man constantly misses the obvious. He said "they study history", yet how is it they missed the fact that socialism always fails?  The guy even ignores the power of capitalism behind selling his copy of the International Socialist Review!  Geez!

Third, I have to wonder to any of these socialist ever stop to find out how some of these companies are started? Do they stop to consider the risks and sacrifices people have made to start their business? Does it even matter to them?

You can read the whole story behind this video here.

Obama: Corporation's profits "have to be shared by American worker"

Today Obama met with the Chamber of Commerce and delivered this memorable little quote:
Real Clear Politics: "If we're fighting to reform the tax code and increase exports, the benefits cannot just translate into greater profits and bonuses for those at the top. They have to be shared by American workers, who need to know that opening markets will lift their standard of living as well as your bottom line," President Obama told the Chamber of Commerce on Monday morning.
Suuuure, Obama is not a socialist. Time and time again we keep getting all these share the wealth schemes from Obama.  At what point do we stop pretending his is not a socialist?

Breitbart to Maher: You’re not a libertarian

This is a fun video. Bill Maher, who is such a fraud, gets called out by Andrew Breitbart for being a socialist rather than a libertarian.

NewsBusters:
And here's where it got good. Readers are strongly advised to watch the video to see Maher's expression when Breitbart nails him:
ANDREW BREITBART: So you're, you're officially not a Libertarian anymore, right? I mean, this position...
MAHER: Well..
BREITBART: ...has run so far from the Libertarian position. Is this, so you admit that you have more of a, you know, European socialist leaning perspective on this issue?
(AUDIENCE LAUGHTER)
BREITBART: Why is that funny?
The look on Maher's face at this moment said it all:

MAHER: I'm, I'm not afraid, it's not, I'm not afraid to say European socialism works.
European socialism works? This is exactly why I say Bill Maher is a fraud.  Europe is now in the grips of austerity measures because socialism worked so well there.

Maher has made a rather lucrative career by employing snark as a mask for intellect.  However when Maher comes up against anyone with real smarts he is exposed as the intellectual lightweight he really is.  Remember this embarrassing moment for Maher?

The only reason why Bill Maher ever called himself a libertarian is because it made him look bright and above the fray of typical left and right politics, NOT because he has a real understanding or belief in the libertarian position.

Christine O’Donnell on Socialism in America

As left goes about digging up less than flattering videos of Christine O’Donnell almost  daily, I think this video serves as proof as to why voters chose her over Mike Castle.

Nancy Pelosi tries to mix Socialism and Catholicism again

As a Catholic, you have no idea how much it angers me to hear this She-Devil use The Word to explain her evil. The Word has absolutely nothing to do with her “ends justify the means” Saul Alinski tactics. When God told us to care for the lesser among us, He meant for us to individually take on the responsibility, not for us to foist that responsibility off on a government. Having someone else do what you should gratefully want to do yourself is not Christian living.

If the Catholic Church was as brutally authoritarian as so many of its detractors claim, it would have excommunicated Nancy Pelosi decades ago. Listening to this woman twist Catholic teachings to advance her agenda is like listening to Satan himself read the Gospel.  Sickening!

Elena Kagan’s college thesis "To the Final Conflict: Socialism in New York City 1900-1913."

Erik Erickson from Red State has tracked down Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan’s college thesis paper. No surprise it is about socialism.  I not surprised because it makes her another member of the administration who shows some love for this failed economic system, but also because you find tons of college students writing about this topic.  Let’s face it, many of America’s college professors were radicals and if you want to impress them, you give them what they like.

Here is part of the closing paragraphs that many are latching on to:
"The story is a sad but also a chastening one for those who, more than half a century after socialism's decline, still wish to change America."
"Yet if 'the history of Local New York shows anything, it is·that American radicals cannot afford to become their own worst enemies. In unity lies their only hope."
The question today is does she still think fondly of socialism even though she knows its failures or was these just thoughts from a 20 year old college thesis? Hard to tell thus far and that is why Republicans need be thorough during the confirmation process.

You can read her whole thesis in PDF format here or you can trip over to Doug Ross for the highlights.

Video: Radical Immigration Reform Rally, Atlanta, GA

How can the media go on and on and on about right wing violence and fringe movements in the Tea Parties and not say one word about stuff like this?  I have been to three Tea Parties and have never seen anything remotely close to this kind of stuff. Yet boobs in the media, Joe Klein I am talking about you, wants everyone to believe the Tea Parties are about overthrowing the government.

So the next time Joe Klein gets to yammering about sedition, someone please tell him to check out his socialist and communist friends.

Obama: I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money

Yesterday Obama was giving a speech on Wall Street reform in Quincy, Illinois. During the speech, Obama let his mask slip and once again we caught a glimpse of his inner Socialist.
From Hot Air: We’re not, we’re not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that’s fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money. But, you know, part of the American way is, you know, you can just keep on making it if you’re providing a good product or providing good service. We don’t want people to stop, ah, fulfilling the core responsibilities of the financial system to help grow our economy.
Of course he begrudges success, otherwise why should anyone have any sort of ceiling on his or her earning potential? What is a certain point anyway? Is that point the same for everyone or just for people who do not think like Obama? Who gets to decide what is enough? The whole share the wealth nonsense is so damn arbitrary. Some silly despot gets to pick winners and losers at a whim.  No thanks; I will stick with Capitalism. So long as you are earning your income honestly, who the hell has any right to say enough is enough?

I think this type of thinking comes from the fact that many on the left view wealth as finite. They look at the nation’s wealth as a great big pie where everyone gets a cut. Most of us on the right view wealth as dynamic, kind of like a balloon that can expand and contract for everyone.

The other thing about Obama’s remark, that Ed Morrissey catches, is how Obama views the role of the private sector.
... Furthermore, the responsibility of an entrepreneur isn’t to “grow our economy,” core or otherwise. It’s to grow his own economy. In a properly regulated capitalist system, the natural tension of self-interests create economic growth through innovation and efficient use of capital and resources.
So true, people do not go into business for the government, or the economy or reasons of social justice. People go into business for themselves. In that process of self-enrichment, others can benefit too, in the form of jobs, technical innovations or better services.  For Socialists/ Statists like Obama, control of those benefits is really what they are all about.

Cap and Tax next? Pelosi: 2 pillars down one to go on Obama’s blueprint

Remember back during the campaign Obama kept referring to three areas of change, health care, education and energy. Well he got two so far and Nancy is now eyeing the third.
The Hill: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) said the Democrats are one bill away from completing President Barack Obama’s “blueprint for American prosperity.”

“We have passed two of the three pillars in the historic healthcare and education reform and are working towards a clean energy and climate agenda in Congress,” Pelosi said in her remarks to the California Democratic Party state convention in Los Angeles on Saturday. “And essential to prosperity for middle-income Americans is reining in Wall Street.”

Passing Cap and Tax now will be the nail in America’s coffin and mostly likely the straw that will break the taxpayer’s backs. Since Cap and Tax already passed in the House, will Democrats use reconciliation to ram the House version through the Senate?

Now would be a good time to start reading the fine print on the Cap and Tax legislation to see what nasty surprises are buried inside.

Obama’s foreclosure plan: Peggy The Moocher’s dream comes true

You remember Peggy the Moocher, she is the sister who voted for Obama because she thought he was going to pay her mortgage.

Well Peggy will be sitting pretty very soon.
From The Washington Post: The Obama administration plans to overhaul how it is tackling the foreclosure crisis, in part by requiring lenders to temporarily slash or eliminate monthly mortgage payments for many borrowers who are unemployed, senior officials said Thursday.
Banks and other lenders would have to reduce the payments to no more than 31 percent of a borrower's income, which would typically be the amount of unemployment insurance, for three to six months. In some cases, administration officials said, a lender could allow a borrower to skip payments altogether.
[…] Officials said the new initiatives will take effect over the next six months and be funded out of $50 billion previously allocated for foreclosure relief in the emergency bailout program for the financial system. No new taxpayer funds will be needed, the officials said.
I have a better idea, take the $50 billion and pay down the deficit with it. Then institute my time tested plan called “The Moving To More Affordable Housing Program”.  The details of the program are pretty straightforward; you pack up all your crap and move to a smaller more affordable place. It even comes with a secondary option; I call it “The Family and Friends Option”. Family and friends who love and care about you, makes their homes available to you for free on a short-term basis.

The best part about The Moving To More Affordable Housing Program is that it’s FREE! Even Peggy can try it, though I kind of think she will opt for the Family and Friends Option.

Al Sharpton: Americans voted for Socialism

Well kudos to Al for that little bit of truth. Actually it is only a half the truth. Obama made no bone about what he meant by Universal Health Care. It was all he and the other Democrats talked about during the primaries. The programs they described sounded big, all encompassing and very expensive. Why the Hope Dopes thought he meant anything other than socialized medicine is beyond me.

Of course during the campaign if anyone actually used the word Socialism and Obama in the same sentence, both the Obama campaign and his media lapdogs had conniptions! Now that we are all stuck with socialized medicine, government run car companies and government run banks, we can all openly say Obama is a Socialist!  Good, because I never did like pretending otherwise.
