On September 11, 2001 America was attacked. Our enemies did not see us as conservatives or progressives, Republican or Democrat, black or white, nor rich or poor. Instead they saw us and continue to see us as one people, a people who embrace liberty over tyranny, freedom over oppression and life over death.
Let us pause today and remember that 2,996 of our fellow Americans died 8 years ago today, not because they wanted to bring evil to the world, but because they went about their business in the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.
Today, let us honor those lost souls by renewing our commitment to the principles and values that have made this nation great. Let us stand as one nation against those enemies, be they foreign or domestic, who would seek to divide us, thwart our values and principles or dare stand in the way of our sacred goals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
God bless America.

amen
THANK YOU for an eloquent post, on this Day of Infamy.
It's being interesting, to notice those bloggers who do remember... And those, who do not... Who choose to not remember, one has to take it. Who choose to keep their heads firmly placed in personal, joyful surroundings. Even today... -sighhhhhh-
Yesterday, yes. Tomorrow, yes. Choose to blog only about one's own happy space. But today?
I know. It's not for me to judge. I know.
'Aunt Amelia'
we shall never forget. God bless our America.
Beautiful tribute. May we NEVER forget.

Have enjoyed your blog since I found it linked in a comment on one other political one I read. Don't want to say that I'm "extra" proud of you... that could be taken as 'racist', but I would imagine as a black conservative, that you probably get heat from some of the same color. So, in that vein, you're special.
In the big picture though- your another American with those values many hold dear. Love your profile read. Very eloquently said.
I hope you keep on keepin' on with what you do.
Ditto what Bz said, plus, thank you for the link list of "more black conservatives". I will be visiting them also. It is refreshing to find black Americans that are not addicted to the "koolaid!" Keep up the good work. You are on my blogroll now.
I just found your blog and am so happy I did. Your words are thoughtful and give me hope that I'm not alone in my beliefs! It is especially a breath of fresh air when every day it seems that the left has made politics into an issue of race... and every day I find myself more alienated, disillusioned and saddened by the actions of many people in this great country. Today is a day on which I'd like to remember the great people that ARE out there. Thank you for giving words to your thoughts and speaking up! I will be visiting ABC again.
amen. my thoughts, almost exactly.
Reaganite:
Much thanks for the Linky Love always appreciated!
Salixj:
Thank you.
Aunt Amelia:
Sadly I really do think people are starting to forget. I went down to the waterfront on 9/11 to see and photograph the Tribute In Light and I was very sadden by the lack of people. Normally there would have been tons milling about. This year there was only a handful. I think Bush did a better job keeping everyone focused on the meaning of the day.
namaste:
Amen!
Bz:
Thank you and welcome to ABC. I needs for apology, I catch your drift. I will do my best for as long as I can. Peace
Average American:
Thank you also and welcome to ABC. Will add you to my blog roll as well.
