Joe Biden has given conservatives something to work hard for in the coming year.
From Karen Travers @ Political Punch:
Vice President Joe Biden said today that if Democrats were to lose 35 House seats they currently hold in traditionally Republican districts, it would mean doomsday for President Obama’s agenda.
Biden said Republicans are pinning their political strategy on flipping these seats.
“If they take them back, this the end of the road for what Barack and I are trying to do,” the vice president said at a fundraiser for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) today in Greenville, Delaware.
Between his endless gaffs and glimmers of truth, Joe Biden is turning out to be one hell of a consolation prize for conservatives. This little bit of truth is actually no secret. The Dems must defend some 49 seats in traditionally unfriendly territory in 2010. If the Dems continue on their current path, 35 seats will be only the minimum. I for one am straining at the bit to vote out leftist in 2010 and 2012. How about you?

If the socialist ( democrats ) are allowed to continue in their bidding America as we know it will no longer exists.
I also will vote out these radicals who, apparently by their actions, hate the constitution and this country.
Does that count Senate seats as well? I think that Harry Reid might be in a 'bit' of trouble this time around.
Obama better listen to Biden on this one. If I was a betting woman I would bet that for the gubernatorial race New York turns Red .. perhaps New York also.
Biden is trying to tell Obama to end all his stupid informercials & to do something to stop the party's bleeding.
Oh I so cannot wait! 2010 can't come fast enough. I do agree Biden has been very entertaining and only seems to help our cause on a daily basis. If things go the right way in 2010, I think I will send him some flowers and chocolates with a thank-you card. ;o)
Btw, what is that thing about the "Little green footballs?"
Oh my God - I get the chance to cast my vote AGAINST Dick Durbin and maybe this time it will make a difference! I am totally ready for that vote.
I CAN wait til 2010.
WHY?
Because, IF he GOP continues to run a recycled slate of political moderates they'll embarass themselves, if not in the election, shortly thereafter.
I'd like to see CONSERVATIVES (yes, preferably Republican Conservatives, to counterbalance the Executive Branch) take back the Congress in 2010.
I've heard as high as 70 Democrat seats appear vulnerble looking forward, so I think Biden's satement is actually a bit of damage control.
Of course, I wouldn't look past ACORN and its vaunted voter-fraud machine.
I know, "It was ONLY voter-registration fraud," says ACORN.
Note to the dopes at ACORN and their ycophants, "Voter REGISTRATION fraud IS voter fraud!"
Since no ID is required, a person who successfully registered a fictitious person CAN vote as that person, once they sign in...yes, even as "Mickey Mouse."
The Vegas Art Guy:
Biden did not count the Senate in his comments. Never the less, Reid is looking like toast. Something tells me, he will NOT be voting for ObamaCare.
arlenearmy:
Biden is like the Obama administrations's truth detector. He knows that the Dems are very unpopular right now. He knows they are pushing a very unpopular agenda.
New Yorkers are getting very fed up the the nanny state nonsense from Bloomberg and the mismanagement of Albany. Giuliani could easily grab the Governorship if he tried.
Mr. Hernandez:
I will be voting right along with you my friend.
Joie:
Please sign my name to that thank you card if things come to pass in 2010.

You lucky girl, you get to vote against one of the biggies. Make sure to say my name when you pull the level, I will relish the satisfaction!
JMK:
You do make some salient points. The GOP is going to gain seats out of default rather than enthusiasm. This is where conservative must be shrewd during the primaries and make sure we keep the RINO population down.
Re: ACORN, I don't think we fully realize the damage that has been done to that organization. Their name is now mud. Our job is to make sure that if they change their name we make sure everyone knows the past association.
ACORN will have a very tough row in RED states, so their scope won't be anything like 2008.
Gotta love the Veep. Most of what comes out of his mouth is nonsensical, but every now and then the lips get particularly loose and he shares information that result in [FACEPALM] for others in his party.
I rather think you and your commenters are right about the House and Senate in 2010, and especially when you state that the Republicans should look to nominate only the most viable conservatives to run.
Given the direction of the country and the mood of the population, the GOP would be wise to take Rahm's advice and not let this crisis go to waste. Further, they should concede no seat to the opposition, not even Charlie Rangel's or Barney Frank's. If the core leftists of the Democratic Party have to fight hard to hold their seats, it will be a drain on the Dems' coffers and it will severely limit their ability to campaign effectively in the swing districts.
I think it was 56 seats that flipped in 1994. The Republicans ought to aim for that or higher.
El Cerdo Ignatius:
You offer some good points. But in order for the GOP to pull it off they have to offer real choice. Wishy washy moderates running on the meme of I'm not the other guy won't be enough to unseat some of the toughies like Rangel and Franks. The GOP will need to offer bold contrast to those guys.
