Williams Safire died today from his bout with pancreatic cancer at the age of 79.
I considered Safire to have been one of the precious good things to come from the New York Times. Sadly because that newspaper is so intellectually dishonest and bias, I missed much of Safire's writings, because I had to catch his stuff here and there from other sources.
May he rest peace.

He'll be missed. One of the last, true voices of conservatism.

Yes he will be. I regret letting my dislike for the Times stop me from reading more of his stuff.
Same with me. I refuse to pay for The Times so I had to wait for his collection books.
