As my dear sweet grandmother use to say: “God, don’t like ugly”! Well today, God dished out a nice tall glass of karma to one ugly bucktooth pervert!
From Variety:
In an uncharacteristically personal revelation for David Letterman, the host took to his "Late Show" stage Thursday to admit that he was the victim of an extortion attempt -- and acknowledge that he has had sexual relations with more than one staff member.
According to a press release sent by Letterman's PR reps, the host first received a package three weeks ago from someone who claimed to have information about alleged sexual relations he has had with female employees of the "Late Show."
The individual threatened to go public with the allegations unless Letterman paid the person $2 million.
Blackmail is an awful thing, but if Letterman were a decent guy this would never have happened.
When asked if the allegations were true, here is what Letterman had to say [emphasis added]:
As part of the testimony, Letterman admitted that he had engaged in sexual relationships with staff members.
"My response to that is, yes I have. Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would," Letterman said. "I feel like I need to protect these people -- I need to certainly protect my family."
That must be some strange Hollywood logic. How on earth is this guy protecting his family by f*ucking around? If anything he has humiliated them! Was it not bad enough that he jerked his wife around for years after she gave him a son, before he finally married her this year? Now he hands her this humiliation. It’s almost as big a slap in the face as John Edwards cheating on his wife while she had cancer.
The other thing that gets me with Letterman is the hypocrisy. He is up there making jokes about Palin being a slut when in actuality he is the real bed hopper! Classic liberal projecting his own faults on to those he disagrees with. I hope Palin puts up a nice joke on Facebook about his creep.
Michelle Malkin has zings the bucktooth pervert by replaying his jokes about Mark Sanford’s affair.
Not so funny now, huh Dave?
UPDATE: Extortionist identified
From Radar Online:
An NYPD source has told RadarOnline.com that the suspect under arrest in the David Letterman extortion case was a producer for CBS’s 48 Hours, Robert Halderman. Halderman often went by his middle name Joe and currently has a residence in Connecticut.
RadarOnline.com has also learned that the alleged extortionist lived with the woman who David was involved with.
The affair happened a long time ago, before his son Harry was born, and before he got married, but he was living with his wife to be at the time.
Halderman needed money police say and decided to target Letterman.
The woman still works on the show but is no longer involved with David.

You know what they say, "It Takes One To Know One"... classic psychological PROJECTION THEORY! R.P. in South Carolina from where the hypocritical Luv Guv, Mark Sandford governs! (puke!)
So, what is it that he actually did? Cheat on his live-in girlfriend? Who hung around for how many years?? 20 some?
Sorry Clifton, I'm seeing apples and oranges on this one.
I've had difficulty in even hearing his name since his attacks on Palin and her family.
@eloh:
The irony is that all those people he mocked, Palin, Sanford, Spitzer, he was guilty of the very things. It is karma that he is exposed.
Something does not seem right here. Did anyone notice the Yahoo home page this morning ?? The "guess who this kid turned out to be" feature was Letterman. Cooincidence ?? Maybe a little message from our Government that they control the media and could make life real difficult for him ?? He obviously confessed to get someone off his back. Producer, huh. I don't buy that. I wonder what they wanted him to do.
I don't think that's how it works, Clifton. They can't be called hypocrites because they actually celebrate perversion, infidelity, and pedophilia (witness the Polanski child-rape). They hold us to our principles as Alinski would dictate because no organization can keep their own rules all the time, so they mock, ridicule, celebrate, and call "hypocrite" when conservatives leave the straight and narrow. But as they essentially have no moral dictates or mandates, they are not hypocrites. Go figure.
Anonymous:
I missed the Yahoo front page this morning. It does seem like a coincident. Considering a producer was involved, perhaps that is the link.
Fuzzy Slippers:
Have you heard of David Horowitz at Frontpage Mag? He has a way for dealing with the Alinski types, he suggest labeling their intentions EVIL from the get go. Kind of like what Palin did with her death panel statement.
Instead of attacking you, they must then spend time denying the charge and that brings attention to the charge and presto they look evil.
Check it:

I'll go check it out, but that actually is using an Alinsky "rule" in attacking them for using an Alinsky rule and forcing them to defend that, rather than the "meat" of the matter. At least, as I understand it. But hey, whatever works. :)
Fuzzy:
Horrowitz was an Alinskite before he became conservative, so he must know what he is doing.
VS also thought along those lines, with more examples from the past:

What goes round comes round, and as far as I'm concerned David Letterman is overdue for his dose of medicine. He should have been fired long ago. He is an egomaniac lacking in compassion, sense of propriety, or taste.
And speaking of Karma...
Another loss for B.O.
-chuckle-
Will the Olympics be called Racist, now? ,-)
Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy.
Letterman's perfected the art of being a "haughty ignoramous." He's a real chowder head.
Love the last lines of the article you quoted in the update;
"Halderman needed money police say and decided to target Letterman."
No kidding! Extortionists do it for the money and not just for sh*ts and giggles? I guess it's a good thing this guy wasn't REALLY mad at Letterman.
"The woman still works on the show but is no longer involved with David."
Well, if she's still "ON THE SHOW" she's still "involved" (to some extent) with Letterman...but I'm sure her hubby's glad it's now simmered down to a mere "close working relationship."
I agree it's a hot mess but at the same time this wasn't a huge shock: isn't this basically a story about sex in the workplace? Just saying, this happens all the time. Dave got an extortion attempt and addressed it. It's up to his wife to decide. I think the biggest shock was how someone with over 20 years at his job (at CBS!) would blow it all to hell to out David Letterman, of all people. Does the man even look like he has sex? I think it's an overblown story but it was interesting reading your take on it.
