Sarah Palin To Appear On Oprah On Nov. 16

From Oprah.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 20, 2009
CHICAGO — In a world exclusive, Oprah Winfrey will interview former Alaska governor Sarah Palin for an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show to air Monday, November 16, 2009.  Winfrey and Palin will meet for the very first time on the episode, which will mark Palin’s first interview to discuss her upcoming book,Going Rogue: An American Life and her first-ever appearance on the Oprah show.

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin burst onto the national political scene as running mate for Senator John McCain in the 2008 presidential election.  Now, following her decision to step down as governor of her home state of Alaska, and on the eve of the release of her first book, Palin will speak first to Oprah in a world exclusive interview.

The Oprah Winfrey Show: Exclusive - Oprah Talks to Sarah Palin airs live on Monday, November 16, 2009 (check local listings).

This is going to be interesting.  I wonder which Oprah will show up that day?  Will it be Oprah the Obama Shill, who refused to have Palin on her show during the election and who may use this opportunity to try to sink Palin and her book for Obama?  Or will it be Business Woman Oprah who is watching her ratings steadily tank? A nice treatment of Sarah Palin might just bring back all those white women who are now tagged as racists for opposing The Won.

As for Sarah Palin, it will be very interesting to see her in action without the shackles of the McCain campaign around her neck. You could tell that some of the things Palin had to say as McCain’s VP candidate did not sound right coming out of her mouth. Without having to align herself with his crazy policy positions, Palin will probably sound more like she did in this interview with Matt Lauer.

Notice how Palin ain’t falling for Lauer’s traps.  Even better she calls Lauer “naïve” and then does not back down off the Letterman being a pedophile charge.  I suspect given the title of her book, “Going Rogue”, we are going to be see a whole lot more of the Sarah Palin in the Lauer interview.  Oprah had better be on her best behavior.

Into the lion's den.

Harpo will just edit and cut till it looks like the big O wins any points made.

I must admit, I'm intrigued.

I was almost disappointed in Palin for agreeing to appear, but I've decided it's best for her to take the high road and let bygones be bygones. That in itself puts her in a better light with anyone not on HuffPo.

I'm wondering why Palin is even bothering with this silly show. It's not like the book won't sell--people have already pre-ordered 1.5million copies.

If it is aired LIVE, then I'm thinkng they can't edit that much (few seconds later?).
Smart woman that Palin if that is the way she agreed to it... because, yeah, otherwise, Harpo would edit the cr@p out of it.

@eloh:

No need to worry about Harpo, Palin's sit down with Oprah will be live! Thus there is a danger that either woman could damage the other's reputation.

I must confess, I too was hoping that Palin would be petty and deliberately not do Oprah's show. However, because of Palin, I will be tuning into Oprah for the first time in eons.

Somehow I have a feeling that Palin is going to use the exposer to get something else across. Just like in the video clip I posted, Palin went on Lauer to talk about the Gas Pipeline, yet she delivered one heck of a broadside to Letterman. Palin clearly came prepared to deal with Letterman. The big question is, what will she throw out there while promoting her book?

Yep it is going to be live, and thus both women can run the risk of damaging their reputations.
