When Egomaniacs Attack: The “To Be Buried In An Obama T-Shirt" Edition

I heard about this story today from a friend and I had immediately thought to myself: “Oh, he just made that story up”.  Nope, it’s really true. Yesterday at a DNC fundraiser in Washington, Obama tried to convince the audience that he was still committed to passing healthcare (NOT). To show his commitment, Obama offered up this hard luck story about a campaign staffer he “knew” in St. Louis:
I got a letter -- I got a note today from one of my staff -- they forwarded it to me -- from a woman in St. Louis who had been part of our campaign, very active, who had passed away from breast cancer. She didn't have insurance. She couldn't afford it, so she had put off having the kind of exams that she needed. And she had fought a tough battle for four years. All through the campaign she was fighting it, but finally she succumbed to it. And she insisted she's going to be buried in an Obama t-shirt.

If this doesn’t scream egomaniac, I don’t know what does. Didn’t he feel the least bit funny about mentioning the Obama t-shirt? I am glad the audience laughed at him.

Obama is such a liar too. This woman, whose name he doesn’t even remember, had health insurance! To make matters worse, he is also lying about being committed to passing healthcare. He is just telling the audience that so they don't completely freak on him.

Speaking of lies, if you can stomach it, listen to the first couple of minutes where the audience is cheering his every sentence. Watch as he starts to boasts about his accomplishments how the audience’s applause diminishes to nothing, especially when he gets to the part about putting earmarks put online. Yes, he actually had the gall to count putting earmarks online as an accomplishment!

The worst part of all of this is that quite simply, hospitals will ultimately give these exams. All you have to do is ask.

You may run up some medical bills, and sure that may become a difficulty... but as opposed to dying because you were too proud to ask and accept some financial hardship?

The simple truth is that anyone who claims they "couldn't afford it, so she had put off having the kind of exams that she needed" is full of it.

Although Obama often is beyond parody, one can still HOPE to try.

Obama said: "We excluded lobbyists from policy making jobs..."

Mr. Obama believes that his administration is somehow lessening the influence and power of lobbyists in Washington. On the contrary, lobbying has expanded and boomed since 2008---it has coincided with the growth of the Federal government. The larger the public trough becomes, the more draw it will become for the lobbyists that Mr. Obama claims he has chided.

I'm with Soloman on this one. I actually work for a hospital and have worked in medical offices for years, and they are ALWAYS willing to help you out when you need it.

I also know this from the patient perspective: With a chronic medical condition, I run up large medical bills and I have never had anyone tell me I can't make monthly payments, whatever I can scrape up. And as long as you're paying SOMETHING, they can't turn you in to collections.

I don't know what is more sickening- Obama's penchant for lies and self-congratulation or the woman being buried in a t-shirt bearing his name.

This is completely nuts. I mean, the guy makes caricatures of him look more realistic than the original.

And why hasn't he provided the insurance for her? She worked for him, she was part of his staff.

This guy will be the best president of the US. Soon, even hard-core Democrats will be unable to stop puking when they hear the word "liberal" or "progressive", let alone "hope-n-change" and "yes, we can".

Guys, if you wanted to know what the velvet revolution was about, or how the Russians felt in 1990-1991 - this is it. You are living the history.

Anyway, back in Novemeber 2008 I predicted this. I am glad I was right. Read it Here

Since Obama inaugural, Republicans have had to face a series of "cr@p sandwiches" that they have been presented. HCR was just one more.

Besides if HCR had passed the afternoon of the Obama inaugural, Melanie Shouse would still have to wait 3 more years for the benefits part of the legislation to kick in, while her "friends," the Democrats collected (and spent) taxes and said there was nothing they could do.

If putting crap online is a presidential accomplishment, then everyone with a blog could be the next messiah.

What a load of crap.
