He's beginning to look a lot like Carter …

Ouch! The Hill is reporting that a CNN poll shows that 52% of Americans say Obama does NOT deserve a second term. Only 44% say they would vote for him again. This is true for both all Americans and registered voters.

Fifty two percent is almost the number that voted for all that Hopey Changey nonsense in the first place. Obama’s does have some “hope”. He can either move to the center on his own improving his reelection chances or he can be saddled with a Republican controlled Congress that will make the move for him. Other than that, Obama is looking very much like Jimmy Carter 2.0.

I know it's Lent but can I please have some schadenfreude with whipped cream (the real stuff, not the canned stuff)?

I want to know what the other 44% see in that man that I don't.
And I would dearly love to know why some of those people that are in the 52% percentile voted for him in the first place.
Needless to say this makes me very very happy, but I still do not see what anyone saw in him.

I can't believe that 44% would still vote for him. I think he's gonna get a Republican controlled Congress after the November election, so that will curtail his shenanigans.

I think we can both get Special Dispensation for this one, LOL

I agree, I too would love to know what that 44% is thinking.

Hopefully if we do get a Republican controlled Congress, we will get massive gridlock until 2012. This way we won't have to worry about anymore far left radical legislation or worry about any of that 52% changing their minds.

Actually, looking at historical polls, he is looking exactly like Ronald Reagan - assuming of course, that he continues to sink till he gets down to 35% apporvals, as Reagan did in year 2.

Obama doesn't look to be enjoying the job he campaigned for - increasingly tense, bored and irritable. There doesn't seem to be any enthusiasm for the day to day realities that accompany that office. What I can't get a feel for is whether this is caused by the many difficult decisions a President faces daily or whether he simply loses interest very quickly with any position he had or has.

Nope he is still more like Carter. The numbers maybe similar, but people's attitudes are not. Only the left despised Reagan. Everyone despised Carter and everyone is starting to despise Obama. See that poll on the stimulus lately?

I see his lack of interest too. I think it comes from the fact that he doesn't get the adoration he once had. Notice how different he is when he is doing one of those canned Town Halls where everyone laughs, claps and cheers him on? He is like his old self. But put some hard questions or strong critiques in front of him and good bye happy fellow.
