Cheney calls out Obama and Biden for taking credit on Iraq (Full Video)

Former Vice President Dick Cheney was on This Week today and he had a little message for Vice President Biden:
"If [the administration is] going to take credit for [Iraq's success], fair enough ... but it ought to come with a healthy dose of 'Thank you, George Bush' up front and a recognition that some of their early recommendations with respect to prosecuting that war were just dead wrong," Cheney told ABC News' Jonathan Karl.

"Obama and Biden campaigned from one end of the country to the other for two years criticizing our Iraq policy," Cheney said. "If they had had their way, if we'd followed the policies they'd pursued from the outset or advocated from the outset, Saddam Hussein would still be in power in Baghdad today."
You just knew Cheney wasn’t going to let Obama and Biden take credit for Iraq that easily. The current administration has not missed a single opportunity to blame the Bush administration for everything under the sun, so why should they thank the Bush Administration when credit is obviously due.

If you missed Cheney’s appearance on This Week, full video of the interview is below (h/t The Right Scoop)

Say what you will about Cowboy diplomacy but any time I see Cheney speaking I know he is riding high in the saddle and not taking any prisoners. He continues to point out the successes of the Bush administration on terrorism and the failings of the Obama administration on policing terrorism.

It is fascinating to watch Cheney, who speaks so thoughtfully and with great insight. He clearly knows exactly what the truth is, takes blame for where he and Bush were wrong, and is supportive when he sees Obama's team doing well.

What a contrast to Biden, who goes out and rattles off the cuff, purely from emotion, and seems to be a talking point machine at best, with no respect for the hard work that brought us to where we are in Iraq.

I think the last time I saw anybody in this Administration or the White house press Corps (not 'Corpse' mind you) was in the aftermath of the attempted bombing of that Northwest Airlines flight on it's final approach to Detroit Christmas day. Of course, their anger wasn't directed at the wanna-be Nigerian jihadi who tried killing some 200 Americans....
Nope- all that venom and rage was directed at Dick Cheney for daring to question how the adminstration and DHS was handling the situation....

Priorities priorities...not that I was very surprised, but it was quite telling nonetheless.

Actually I too am glad Cheney is calling out the Obama administration on terror. The media is completely inadequate for the job of keeping this administration on its toes, so someone has to do it. Might as well be Cheney.

You picked up on many of the same things that I did. I will also add that this administration seems more gung ho about fight the politics of terror than actually fighting terror.

Going after anyone who opposes this administration seems to be the media's number one job these days. It is why they are still slamming Palin.

I love Dick Cheney and his daughter, Liz. Couldn't you just imagine a Liz/Sarah ticket in 2012? Not sayin it would be my favorite choice but two strong, good looking women would surely cause some head explosions amongst the libs. If stakes weren't so high it would be fun.
