Liar!

Talk about poetic justice. The CIA has released a memo showing that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi knew about Enhanced Interrogation Techniques and who they were used on.

Intelligence officials released documents this evening saying that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was briefed in September 2002 about the use of harsh interrogation tactics against al-Qaeda prisoners, seemingly contradicting her repeated statements over the past 18 months that she was never told that these techniques were actually being used.

In a 10-page memo outlining an almost seven-year history of classified briefings, intelligence officials said that Pelosi and then-Rep. Porter Goss (R-Fla.) were the first two members of Congress ever briefed on the interrogation tactics. Then the ranking member and chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, respectively, Pelosi and Goss were briefed Sept. 4, 2002, one week before the first anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The memo, issued by the Director of National Intelligence and the Central Intelligence Agency to Capitol Hill, notes the Pelosi-Goss briefing covered "EITs including the use of EITs on Abu Zubaydah." EIT is an acronym for enhanced interrogation technique. Zubaydah was one of the earliest valuable al-Qaeda members captured and the first to have the controversial tactic known as water boarding used against him.

It is going to be something to watch Pelosi weasel out of this one. I certainly hope she cannot. She along with other prominent Democrats have done a lot to whip up the radical far left into a feeding frenzy over Enhanced Interrogation Techniques. They floated ideas ranging from Bush's impeachment to charging him with war crimes. The far left is now out for blood, they see this as a moral issue. They may even eat one of their own over this.

Republicans need to fan this flame just as hard as the Democrats did with Bush. Pelosi flat out lied and is getting caught up in her own words. If the Democrats start eating their own or start losing face with each other, it will only help Republicans' chances in 2010 and 2012.

I cannot help but wonder if Obama had any idea what a problem the whole thing would cause? If he knew, was his intention to get Pelosi out of the picture?

Wow, Cliff, you scooped the big news boys on this one. Haven't seen this reported anywhere else!

Awesome job!

She knew. She lied and B-Rock knew she lied. You are right. They may eat one of their own over this. But it is amazing how Holder is now saying that there will be no prosecutions over this so maybe they will eat one of their own but not digest her.

Oh, didn't you know...if princess pelosi waves her magic wand, the truth suddenly vanishes and she can say whatever she wants...

Until the truth comes back and bites her, along with the other Dems. But, just as every other corrupt member in this group of yahoos, I don't think anything will be done except the usual smooze talk: It was a mistake, an oversight, blah blah blah.

That picture says it all!!

I hope they do eat their own over this. I will be one more speed bump on the road to socialism.

Have faith Leslie. Take a trip over to the forums of Huff Po and DU and you will see there are quite a few lefties that want blood over the whole EIT thing. I don't think those folks will be happy with MSM talking points.

There's never been any question that Pelosi and many other Liberal COngressional members knew about the enhanced interrogations...IF they disapproved they said NOTHING.

Therefor, they're even more complicit than those who believed they were just and necessary.

If the Bush Justice Dept lawyers are charged with wrong-doing, so should Pelosi, Reid and the other Libs who knew.

I hear you on that. I heard a liberal friend this weekend try to justify Pelosi's supposed silence as not wanting to divulge state secrets. Baloney! The left is forever championing whistleblowers. If she thought it was so morally wrong, then blow the whistle rather than try to score political points.

If she really thought it was wrong and said nothing (which appears to be the case), then it's MORAL COWARDICE and not politics that motivated her.

Personally, I think EVERYTHING is politics to Pelosi, the wars, the interrogations, the economy....nothing else matters except whether it benefits "her Party."

But saying nothing in the face of something you believe to be morally wrong goes beyond mere "politics trumps everything," it is pure moral cowardice, plain and simple, which makes her even worse than the lawyers she wants to prosecute for merely offering legitimate legal opinions.

I have Pelosi pegged as a politics only type. I don't think morality ever entered into the equation. She saw waterboarding as a tool to use to bash Bush with, she did not give a damn about the aftermath either.
