Zip it Mitt!

Hey Mitt, what's up will all these little snides toward Governor Palin? Are you jealous? Recently when asked about Governor Palin and Rush Limbaugh making Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People List, Mitt Romney had this to say [emphasis added]
What the heck is that all about? Is Romney inferring that Palin is just a pretty face and has no influence? This isn't the first time Romney has taken a veiled swipe at Palin. At CPAC this year, he said this:
That book deal bit, was a rumor started by the left and had been disproven long ago, joke or no joke, why keep it alive.

Mitt Romney needs to review, Reagan's 11th Commandment again and again and again. I find Romney's actions so unnecessary. Given his track record for turning around failed business, his stock in the GOP is rising with each job killing action by the Democrats. By 2012, he may very well be the only possible answer. So why, take swipes at Palin? I understand right now, Palin is the one to watch, but who knows what 2012 hold. She may decide to say enough is enough and exit the political world or she may be the only one able to beat Obama. What ever the case, the GOP must not destroy any of its best chances to defeat Obama in 2012.

This is exactly what we do not need in the GOP: infighting, petty digs, and childish jealousy.

If Mitt is jealous, he needs to keep it to himself.

If he is just not thinking of the ramifications his comments can have and how the left can turn them against himself or Palin or whomever runs in 2012 --he needs to think before he speaks.

Palin is much more than a pretty face. She is a conservative that believes in the Constitution, individual freedom, capitalism, and using our OWN natural resources. They are all afraid of her, because she was the ONLY one who connected with the American people during the election. Do you really think McCain got all those votes? No one was excited about his name on the ticket until he added Palin. And he knew it too.

Good Post Clifton!

I used to admire Mitt Romney, even hoped he would win the nomination last year, but his ego is becoming so dominant -- at the RNC -- well, every opportunity he can get to posture himself for 2012. However, tearing down Sarah Palin is not going to help his cause; it just makes him look petty.

Guys take a look at who won the White House, now emulate that.

Arrogance, childish, backhandedness, and egotistical.

That is how you win the White House. You figure out what the other guy did and you copy it. But Mitt will need to do something about his resume. Maybe he can say that he was a puppet and really did not run those companies after all. Once again emulating the guy who won!

I said it on LCR's blog will say again :

"Mitt taking a jab at Palin is no surprise, he will probably be running against her in 2012, if he says anything nice about her now, it will be used against him even if she isn't running. Let's accept it, Gov.Palin, is a very polarizing figure. 50% of the nation loves her as she is a succesful, selfmade, anti-abortion, pro-family gal. Other 50% despises her, especially feminists because she is the Anti-Christ to every theory they depend upon to raise funds. Praise her and you loose 50% support, better to dance around the issue, which Mitt did, somewhat tactlessly."

Palin lost to Obama in a LANDSLIDE. I'm sure he prays every night she gets the nomination so he can repeat that victory.

It would be far wiser for Mitt to spend his time, building a real conservative resume, rather than knocking real conservatives.

I myself reluctlantly supported him as my 3rd choice during the primaries. I always considered him to be an 11th hour convert to conservatism and my opinion hasn't changed.

Mitt is pretty much guaranteed a cabinet position in the next Republican administration...provided he behaves himself.

Too bad for Mitt, this will only work for Democrats. That is because the MSM places a positive spin on those attributes. For us, they will be displayed exactly as the negatives they are.

If Mitt cannot bring himself to say something nice about Palin, follow they old saying and say nothing at all.

I disagree on the 50% premise. Democrats stood fast with Hillary and if you recall, her numbers stacked up very well against all of the Republican candidates. Had she got the nomination, I do believe she would have defeated McCain.

That is a brain dead leftwing assertion, please shop it elsewhere.

I'm like Clio. I was a bit of a Mittens fan. In fact, had McCain not done the only smart thing of the 2008 election, selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate, I could have excepted Romney as VP.

But of course, had McCain chosen Romney, he would have lost big time.

Look at what happened when all of the GOP faithful, including Romney went down to Georgia, to campaign for Saxby Chambliss.

All of the "big hitters" drew crowds by the 10's. Sarah drew incredibly large crowds and turned Chambliss' dead heat race into a 16 point blowout!

I actually voted for Romney in the primaries. He was my third choice after Thompson and Giuliani.

What the GOP and Romney needs to do, is to find out what is the essence of Palin. What are the key elements that makes her a sensation and then follow it. If they are unable to do that, then they need to defend her like the prize possession she is.
