Alleluia! The US Census and ACORN part company!

The most diabolical partnership of all time is no more. After the release of videos depicting two shocking examples of ACORN’s criminal activities, the US Census has finally come to its senses and kicked ACORN to the curb!

From Fox News:

"Over the last several months, through ongoing communication with our regional offices, it is clear that ACORN's affiliation with the 2010 Census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 Census efforts," read a letter from Census Director Robert M. Groves to the president of ACORN.

"Unfortunately, we no longer have confidence that our national partnership agreement is being effectively managed through your many local offices. For the reasons stated, we therefore have decided to terminate the partnership," the letter said.

The news follows the firing Friday of two more ACORN employees after new hidden-camera footage showed workers for the group advising a couple posing as a pimp and prostitute how to subvert the law.

Noticed the part I emphasized? That my friends are you and I, people who wrote to Congress, signed Michelle Bachmann’s petition and made our voices known that we did not want that criminal organization anywhere near the census.

I would love to know who on earth was the complete moron who thought ACORN was worthy of helping out with the census. Just from ACORN’s long history of election fraud, they should have been deem persona non grata from the get go. Now the big question, will ACORN just be replaced with another organization that has ties to ACORN? Keep an eye out for that.

In addition to the Census kicking ACORN to the curb, the two girls in the DC video got fired as well as the two from Baltimore. If ACORN thinks that it can hide its evil deed with low-level firings, they have another thing coming to them. People are wise to their game now.

Here is ACORN’s latest response:

The group's leaders said Friday they were "appalled and angry" at what their staffers had done, but insisted the videos were part of a political "smear" campaign and not representative of the institution as a whole.

"But that does not excuse the behavior of the employees," wrote ACORN's president Alton Bennet and executive director Mike Shea. "We have fired them and are initiating an internal review of practices and reminding all staff of their obligation to uphold the highest legal and ethical standards."

Are any of you buying that? You know all they are going to do is to tell their staff how to cover their asses better.

Now here is the part that will make your blood boil, the Baltimore city’s state attorney is considering going after the two who made the tape of ACORN!

From WBAL AM 1090

STATEMENT OF STATE’S ATTORNEYS OFFICE FOR BALTIMORE CITY RELATIVE TO THE ALLEGED BALTIMORE ACORN INCIDENT

Baltimore, MD – September 11, 2009 – We have received inquiries from citizens and the media asking whether the Baltimore City State’s Attorneys Office would initiate a criminal investigation for acts allegedly committed at ACORN offices located in Baltimore. The only information received in reference to this alleged criminal behavior was a YouTube video. Upon review by this office, the video appears to be incomplete. In addition, the audio portion could possibly have been obtained in violation of Maryland Law, Annotated Code of Maryland Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article §10-402, which requires two party consent.

If it is determined that the audio portion now being heard on YouTube was illegally obtained, it is also illegal under Maryland Law to willfully use or willfully disclose the content of said audio. The penalty for the unlawful interception, disclosure or use of it is a felony punishable up to 5 years.

Talk about no good deed goes unpunished! Notice the emphasized part here too? Says a lot doesn’t it? You can contact Baltimore city’s state attorney here and let her know she is being a damn fool.

There's gonna be hell to pay if James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles end up in legal trouble and ACORN is let off the hook.

In the mean time, it is fantastic that the Census Bureau has broken ties with ACORN.

There's only one fool I can think of that thinks a corrupt, racist, and unethical organization like ACORN would be good to partner with the Census. The same corruppt, racist and unethical senator that became President: Obama. This man has been moving the ranks of government using corruption, racism and fraud all his life so this comes as no surprise. The good news is all his "well" intended plans are falling apart.

Cliff,
I think the law that is being cited is the same one that got Linda Tripp in trouble with the taping in the Monica Lewinsky.

But to that end does the uncovering of an illegal operation get negated because of the audio portion of the video. I wonder if the two people who actually shot this can claim that they are undercover journalist?

When it was said that these women were fired from the Baltimore office of ACORN....that's exactly what I hear......"from the Boston office" not ACORN...I'm sure these jewels are still pulling a nice fat check from your wallet.

This is a wonderful start. My concern is that this action does not go far enough. ACORN is a umbrella group of hundreds of smaller groups as well and they are in the process of changing their name to COI (Community Organizers International). Unless congressional and criminal investigations are held there is no way to ensure that the same people will not continue to be involved and continue to receive federal money under another name.

You just knew ACORN would find a way to go after those two. I am pleased as punch that ACORN is not working on the census. We do have to watch out for ACORN affiliates.

I would not put it pass BO to find a suitable replacement for ACORN to work on the Census.

Amen to that sister!

Exactly we will still have to keep a close eye out for some type of bait and switch.

Yes it is the same law that was to be used on Lewinsky. Forget about them catching a break, the Baltimore city attorney is an Obama supporter. I am sure her orders came from on high.

@eloh:

When it comes to ACORN, for all we know they were just transfered to another affiliate (with a pay cut too no doubt).

Welcome to ABC! I am stoked you found me too!

How right you are. This is exactly why I said we have to watch all the Census partners closely. I find it hard to believe that just ACORN was involved. I have a sneaky feeling that one of their affiliates are involved as well.
