Dems blame Rahm Emanuel for the death of ObamaCare

Congressional Democrats are starting to blame Rahm Emanuel for ObamaCare’s failure.  Centrist Democrats blame Rahm for not trying to work with enough Republicans and progressive Democrats are blaming Rahm for allowing Max Baucus and the Senate Finance Committee to waste so much time. The Hill reports even a few more reasons why the Democrats are blaming Rahm.

What is pretty telling from The Hill’s story is that none of the Congressional Democrats are blaming the policies put forth. Even the Scott Brown victory has not opened their eyes to the simple fact that Americans hated the policies of the bill.

Think about this for a second, the American people hated every healthcare bill put out by both the House and Senate Democrats. No bill had the majority of Americans supporting it.  Yet, these Democrats are now blaming Rahm for not getting the final bill passed. Given how much the American people hated the final bill, the Democrats should be eternally grateful that Rahm screwed up otherwise they would be in a much worse position going into 2010.

Well, they have to blame someone, it may as well be the "moderate" of the administration.

I was drinking some wine one day last week when I heard him described as a moderate; it almost came out of my nose, I was laughing so hard.

Democrats need some diversity in their party - maybe that would help them to understand what is wrong with their ideas....

Once upon a time a pet food company created a new variety of dog food and rolled out a massive marketing campaign to introduce the product. Despite hiring a first-rate advertising agency, initial sales were very disappointing. The agency was fired and a new agency and a new campaign was launched. Sales continued to disappoint. If anything, they fell even further. In desperation, the CEO called in all of the top executives for a brainstorming session to analyze what had gone wrong with the two campaigns and how a new campaign might revive sales.

The meeting went on for hours. Sophisticated statistical analysis was brought to bear on the problem. One VP argued that the mix of TV and print ads had been messed up. Another argued that the previous campaigns had been too subtle and had failed to feature the product with sufficient prominence. Another argued that the TV ad campaign had focused too much on spots during sporting events and not enough on regular programming with a broader demographic. Another argued the opposite–not enough sports programming had been targeted. After the debate had raged for hours, the CEO felt they had accomplished very little. He asked if anyone else had any theories that might explain the failure of the new product. Finally, one newly hired employee raised his hand and was recognized. Maybe the dogs don’t like it, she said.

Just love it, can't be the bill had very little to do with health care reform and was mostly setting more bureaucracy and increasing taxes on everyone and generally a crummy bill.

I wrote something about this. Seems to me that it's hard to blame Rahm due to the separation of powers that the prez scoffed at in the SOTU.

I read about this yesterday, and am quite perplexed how a mere employee of the President is at fault for not doing what the President was supposedly elected to do. Or, am I just further confused as to who was actually elected...?

Hyphenated American, that is literally a howl! Mercy, about 60 % of our elected representatives are more twisted than a slinky.

Its all about the process. If you can't blame a faulty premise for the federalization of health care you have to blame the process that prevented Americans from seeing it in a "true light." Otherwise how can they try to resurrect it even in the face of universal opposition. The Left and their redefining the distinctions. I never get tired of watching it...
