Sen. Dianne Feinstein: It is morally correct to force taxpayers to fund abortion

From CNS News

As the Senate was debating the Nelson amendment Tuesday, CNSNews.com asked Feinstein: "Is it morally right to use tax dollars from pro-life Americans to cover insurance plans that cover abortion?
Feinstein said: "Is it morally correct? Yes, I believe it is.  Abortion is legal, and there (are) certain very tragic circumstances that a woman finds herself in. Married, with an unborn baby that’s unable to survive outside of the womb, her doctor tells her it’s a threat to her health.  I think she ought to have a policy available to her."
CNSNews.com asked: "So it’s morally right for pro-life taxpayers to have to help pay for plans that cover abortion?"
Feinstein responded: "Please. We pay for a lot of things that we may or may not agree with, and taxpayers pay for it, for those things, as well."
Feinstein joined the majority of Democrats Tuesday in voting against the Nelson amendment, which was rejected on a 54-45 vote.
Seven Democrats voted for Nelson's amendment: Sens. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.); Mark Pryor (D-Ark.); Evan Bayh (D-Ind.); Bob Casey (D-Pa.); Kent Conrad (N.D.); Byron Dorgan (N.D.) and Ted Kaufman (D-Del.).

Well if that doesn’t beat all.  I think Feinstein makes a perfect argument as why we need to cut down on government spending all together. We spend way too much money on things that the government never should have gotten into in the first place.

Something Feinstein should also consider. The majority of abortions performed in this country are not because or rape, incest, or a health danger to the mother, the majority of abortion perform are the result of women making bad choices. Why on earth should others be forced to pay for their irresponsibility or bad choices?

Asking Feinstein about morals practically obviates the need for the question.

Another problem with her statement is the pesky little fact that it is currently illegal for tax payer funds to be used for abortions.

But, why let the law get in the way?

Hey Cliff..

A little while ago I posted Boxer babbling through her own confusion about abortion and how it compares to Viagra. I just added an update linked here to your post, since they're related in subject and California Senators.

Just amazing, aren't they?

Asking Feinstein about Morals is akin to asking Mordoff about financial planning or Hitler about policies regarding Israel. Oh wait, we do, it's the President of Iran. This not only goes akin to the absurdity of the liberals, but the stupidity of the media to ask a question that they very well already know the answer to.

Similarly, there was an article in a local newspaper by the president of the local Planned parenthood saying (Surprise!) that singling out abortion coverage is morally bankrupt. Strangely, she only used the word 'abortion' once and then on for some seven paragraphs referred to it as "Women's health services."

Yup Senator Feinstein, abortion is legal.

The real question here is why the h*ll would anyone with half a brain feel it moral to force taxpayers to pay for abortions as a matter of convenience after the fact.

In the case of rape or endangerment to the womens life okay, I can buy that.

Feinstein, like Boxer, somewhere down the line had a logic circuit short out on her.

You know they make the law up as they go along. So long as they get what they want in the end, nothing else matters.

I heard about the abortion - Viagra comparison. I am headed over to you to check it out. Thanks for the linkage.

The only good thing about asking the question is that we now have their honest admission on tape for all time.

Ugh, Planned Parenthood aka The Killer of Black People. I am not the least bit surprised by their linguistic gymnastics. How else do you think they are capable of committing genocide against black people for so long?

Rational Nation USA:

That is just the point, liberals like Feinstein only see the extreme terms. She cannot fathom the millions of abortions that are done out of convenience.

A moral option? Where do we begin with that?
Pro-abortionists, I find, are terribly afraid of facts. Do a survey. Determine how many abortions are done and why (after all, we do not hesitate to find information on heart surgeries). When it is revealed that abortions are done for convenience, how does Mrs. Feinstein think the American taxpayer will like paying for unnecessary surgeries?
That woman is a fool.

Just had to comment on your response, I believe it is more appropriate to say " the majority of abortions performed are the result of women (and men) making bad choices." I believe men need to take responsibility also. It just hit me that's all. I believe both people involved should pay for their own decision, if it is both their decision. Taxpayers should not.
