Huck PAC releases a very weak statement on Clemmons

STATEMENT REGARDING WASHINGTON STATE SLAYINGS
by Press Team

The senseless and savage execution of police officers in Washington State has saddened the nation, and early reports indicate that a person of interest is a repeat offender who once lived in Arkansas and was wanted on outstanding warrants here and in Washington State. The murder of any individual is a profound tragedy, but the murder of a police officer is the worst of all murders in that it is an assault on every citizen and the laws we live within.

Should he be found to be responsible for this horrible tragedy, it will be the result of a series of failures in the criminal justice system in both Arkansas and Washington State. He was recommended for and received a commutation of his original sentence from 1990, this commutation made him parole eligible and he was then paroled by the parole board once they determined he met the conditions at that time. He was arrested later for parole violation and taken back to prison to serve his full term, but prosecutors dropped the charges that would have held him. It appears that he has continued to have a string of criminal and psychotic behavior but was not kept incarcerated by either state. This is a horrible and tragic event and if found and convicted the offender should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Our thoughts and prayers are and should be with the families of those honorable, brave, and heroic police officers.

This is weak. It seems to try to spread the blame all over the place. Huckabee commuted this guy’s sentence and that is why he was free to roam. It would be nice if Huck and company owned up to this fact.

If there is one thing the electorate is looking for today, it is integrity. That includes owning up to your mistakes, both big and small. This statement reeks of the same old Washington slip and slide when it comes to taking responsibility.

He should probably forget about 2012.

Huckabee said if he had knew what he knew 9 years ago he would have never have let the guy out. Yet, when he was released under Huckabee he had been a 16 year old with a 105 year sentence for aggrivated (sp) robbery. That seems a bit much. He later raped a child and assaulted an officer and barely got any time. Why was that? That doesn't have anything to do with Huckabee. How can you get 105 years for robbery and barely anything for child rape? I know many libs will try to put this on Huckabee, but they always try to do stuff like that. Like they used the Tiller murder to blame Fox News. They use tragedy to blame someone they don't like. I don't think this murder had anything to do with Huckabee although if I was him I would feel terrible, but still you can not predict the future. Unless I am missing something, (You can fill me in, if I have) I think this was a horrible tragedy and maybe this could have been prevented. Starting first with the two judges that give him such a low bail even though he committed child rape. Yet the main personal responsible for his actions is Clemmons, who should now fact the death penalty.

Judging from the reaction on the right side of the blogosphere, I would have to say Huckabee's 2012 chances just went bye-bye.

Hannity in a skirt:

Huckabee would have better standing with his defense of "if I knew then what I know now", if this was the first and only person he let off the hook who got in trouble. Google Wayne Dumond and you will see what I mean.

In addition, Huckabee has a record of commuting a rather prodigious number of violent criminals in Arkansas. He also offers rather flimsy reasons for that high number. Some say that as an ex-preacher, Huckabee was a sucker for the "I found Jesus" plea.

Huck can officially kiss any speculation on 2012 goodbye. Conservatives expect liberals to be weak on criminal not conservatives. Huck is done!
