Twitter hacked by Iranian Cyber Army

Yesterday was not a good day for technology. We had Predator Drones being hacked by insurgents, BlackBerry service was interrupted and around 10PM Twitter was hacked. A protest group by the name of the Iranian Cyber Army hacked into Twitter and replaced the homepage with the image above [click image above for larger view]

The message at the bottom once translated, reads:
"U.S.A. Think they are controlling and managing Internet by their access, but they don't. We control and manage Internet by our power, so do not try to stimulation Iranian peoples to... NOW WHICH COUNTRY IN EMBARGO LIST? IRAN? USA? WE PUSH THEM IN EMBARGO LIST ;) Take Care."

Just how were the drones "hacked"? The buyers of the drones, that is, our military, were stupid enough to buy a spy tool with no encryption of the data it transmits. The enemy used readily available software to view that data.

You are on the wrong topic, but both the military and General Atomics (maker of the drones) really screwed up by omitting data encryption.
