Hell Just Froze Over: Media Matters Calls Out Newsweek For Sexism Against Palin

Now here is something I thought I would never see. The leftwing Media Matters, that is well know for spreading some falsehoods about Sarah Palin, has come to her aid and is calling out Newsweek for its sexist treatment of Palin.

From Media Matters:
There are a lot of legitimate reasons Newsweek's November 23 issue, however, does just that by publishing on its cover a photo of Palin in short running shorts and a fitted top, leaning against the American flag. Making matters worse is the equally offensive headline Newsweek editors chose to run alongside the photo -- "How Do You Solve a Problem like Sarah?" -- presumably a reference to the Sound of Music song, "Maria," in which nuns fret about "how" to "solve a problem like Maria," a "girl" who "climbs trees" and whose "dress has a tear." to criticize Sarah Palin, her new book, and her policies, but you don't have to stoop to sexism to do it. MORE
By the way, Media Matters also points out that the Newsweek's sexist treatment doesn't stop at the cover, continues throughout the article with pictures of Palin's legs and a Palin doll in school girl uniform.  While Media Matters does call out Newsweek's sexist treatment of Palin, it also gives a thumbs up to the lame content of the article. Hey it's a start.

I am beginning to think that I was right when I said that the Oprah interview humanized Palin.  It is going to be much harder to disrespect Palin like the left did before without pissing off new people. Perhaps this book tour and all the interviews on the lamesteam media will produce a Sarah Palin 2.0.  It will be interesting to see Palin's approval ratings after the book tour.

I saw this in this mornings paper, isn't that disgusting, to post her photo of her from a Running magazine on their cover making her look like cheesecake.
Goes to show you how much the left fears Sarah.
But it doesn't surprise me at all. This is what evil does. Expect it.
We cannot control what evil does, but we can stand up to it in every form and at any given moment when it appears.
Keep up the good work here.

Odd that Newsweek couldn't find an unflattering photo or at least one that wasn't already a cover shot.

I choked when I saw your headline on my blog roll... this truly is a historic event!

In our pc world, I'm allowed to say this - she looks good. Beyond that, she speaks for more than a few people......and does anyone care about 'media matters', anyway?

Understand that the sale of Palin's photo was in violation of an embargo agreement between Palin and the photographer. Presume Ms. Palin will have a big pay day from that error. Hope it is Newsweek that has to fork over the big dough.

Unfortunately, when it comes to selling magazines, "there's no such thing as BAD publicity."
