Well here is some cheerful news on an otherwise dreary day; ACORN’s national outfit has gone kaput!
From Politico: The ACORN Association Board met on Sunday March 21 and approved a set of steps to responsibly manage the process of bringing its operations to a close over the coming months. These include:
* Closing ACORN’s remaining state affiliates and field offices by April 1st; and
* Developing a plan to resolve all outstanding debts, obligations and other issues.
ACORN’s members have a great deal to be proud of--from promoting to homeownership to helping rebuild New Orleans, from raising wages to winning safer streets, from training community leaders to promoting voter participation—ACORN members have worked hard to create stronger to communities, a more inclusive democracy, and a more just nation.
Keep in mind many of ACORN’s regional offices have already begun renaming and reincorporating themselves. This will make it a whole lot harder to take down ACORN in one fell swoop like O’Keefe and Giles did, but on the other hand it also makes it a lot easier for each state to handle the ACORN problem locally. All in all it is still a bit of welcome news.

I saw this story on the news.
Unfortunately, the financial backers of ACORN have lots of cash and motivation to promote their unhealthy ideas through other new or existing organizations.
Good point about the states being able to tackle them in their new form though.
Follow the money. Find out who the new ACORN is.
This is probably step 1 to begin the Obama re-election campaign. What better way to fund your re-election than by using a federally subsidized organization and all your pals cintrol where te money goes. The name change allows for plausible deniability for this group of liars.
Hopefully the conservative media (however small) keeps an eye on Congress' actions and reports to the American people- Although it would do little to effect what the shameless Democrats do, it will continue to increase awareness and galvanize continued opposition, possibly enough to sustain the animus with which we will fight back at the pools.
Slamdunk:
Oh ACORN will still get its cash, make no mistake about that. What they are loosing is a national umbrella and thus if they continue in their corrupt ways, they can be picked off one little organization at a time.
Opus #6:
Yes, follow the money to all the new names.
Ozzie:
The task now is for people in each state to watch their own ACORN's actions. If they start with the voter fraud or other corrupt dealings, it will be easier for your state to kick them out.
