State of the Union address will about tax credits for middle class

Obama is going to use his first State of the Union address to officially morph into Populist Obama. What does Populist Obama have in store for us?  Why middle class goodies of course.

From the New York Times
WASHINGTON — President Obama will propose in his State of the Union address a package of modest initiatives intended to help middle-class families, including tax credits for child care, caps on some student loan payments and a requirement that companies let workers save automatically for retirement, senior administration officials said Sunday.
I cannot help but wonder, how if any of this really helps those who are unemployed? Many Americans are capable of handling these things on their own if they have a real job. I certainly hope he has something else up his sleeve to address the unemployment problem, because right now all this sounds like is spending more money we don’t really have.

And as a middle class woman with no children, no ovaries and no student loans, I get diddly. Wouldn't it be nice if he did something that benefits everybody and not just his chosen demographics.

I completely agree with the previous poster! I realize he is literally trying to appeal to the masses because the "middle class" is comprised of most individuals in the United States, but what about just giving everyone a tax cut, including businesses? Why is everything so complicated with Democrats?

I get diddly too. As a self employed individual, I am sure I am going to get the bill for the goodies though.

It is complicated because the left has always employed the divide and conquer strategy. "Evil Rich" people can never have the same breaks as the poor or middle class.
